    The editing was so great in this and all those different frames - you dancing, leaning on the desk, sitting on the sofa - created a lovely dynamic !

      pattern-pals I totally agree! It would be cool to see how you do that, too (several cameras at once? Recording different moments then splicing them together like it all happened at once?) Your editing is always so beautiful!

    I'm always caught between contentedness and restlessness when I watch your videos! It's such a cool combination, because on the one hand I can't wait to live a life like yours, doing art and being freelance and having my own space (I'm still a bachelor student, and while I love my uni it's also iNcReDiBlY intense) while on the other I know I have plenty of time before I get to that stage in my life and the messiness that is going on right now is messiness everyone experiences. Thanks for sharing all your tips and your days! -TJ

    Holy shit, this was probably the best sponsored video i've ever seen. At first i was skeptical how Intel would fit into a video from an artist, but this was beautiful. And i actually want to have that workstation now, even though i good a pretty good macbook pro.
    Well done, keep at it!
    PS: That concept of flow has been written about and studied upon. I recommend the book Flow by Mihali if you haven't read it yet.

    I wish I had your level of discipline! I always struggle with not letting my brain chemistry get the better of me when I walk into the studio. Before I know it, I've started 3 seperate projects and I've been bullet journaling for an hour when I should have been focused one on painting or video. Love the topic and how you included the laptop into your working day so seamlessly! At a certain moment I thought you were working on a graphic tablet but nope, it was the same laptop.
    It's a wonder how far technology is coming and how useful it can be in an artist's life. I'd loved to see more videos like these if you'd decide to do them! Also as you were working in photoshop, do you perhaps know the levels of pen pressure sensitivity of the Intel pencil? Could it technically replace a screen graphic tablet such as a Cintiq or if it's anyway similar to an Ipad Pro?

    • @TheShahkulu
      @TheShahkulu 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pampd I recognise the laptop, it's a HP Spectre. I was considering buying one recently but I went with a Dell XPS 15 instead because it has better specs and reviews for a similar price range. I came to the conclusion that it's better to have a high spec laptop and pair it with a graphics tablet rather than having a 2 in 1 laptop since the pen that comes with the spectre isn't really that great if you want to make professional digital art.

    • @PampdArt
      @PampdArt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for answering!
      I thought that might be the case and you definitely gave me the answer I needed. I don't intend on upgrading for a while yet but I was thinking on adding a screen tablet such as Hiuon to my collection and an Ipad Pro for being able to create anywhere. But I did stumble on the 2 in 1 laptop add a while back and it really surprised me. Maybe one day it's going to be able to have all the specs needed for professional work.

    • @handsomezebra
      @handsomezebra 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually own the same laptop! It is, indeed, an HP Spectre as Shah Kulu mentioned. The sensitivity is pretty good. I can't speak to the sensitivity vs. a cintiq because I don't own one of those... But I am a former Intuos4 owner: so I can say that the sensitivity is VERY close. I don't get the texture that I preferred with the intuos - but I I am researching a matte screen protector for it.

    • @PampdArt
      @PampdArt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your answer, it's always good to hear from someone who owns the equipment. I own an intuos pro medium at the moment so I can imagine a bit better how the device works. It sucks it doesn't have the kind of texture you were used to but best of luck with the screen protector and that it helps you geting a similar feeling. Hope you have a lovely day ahead!

    I am curious to know about how you built up an audience. I have always enjoyed art and almost everything around it, I recently started to build on a page and I'm proud that I have reached a little over 400 followers there, but I feel that they don't interact and they aren't all too interested.

    It looks like there's a bit of lag time with the pen. Does that ever seem a little cumbersome? I've been working with either ProCreate on my ipad or Photoshop but the ease of switching the laptop into a tablet with that size of screen looks great! That was the one thing I noticed though.

    • @hyelimchoi_
      @hyelimchoi_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      FarlyCreates I've used both the iPad and a windows equivalent and I just find that Apple has better pen integration and the lag becomes annoying but is something you get "used to" after a while :/

  • @dxyeart7318

    So I know that art is your career, but what do you mean when you say actual 'work' work? You said that you do painting and sketching in the morning, then start off the real work. I understand that a career in art has involves other things like printing prints, editing (for video creators), organising shipments, etc. but as someone who is thinking about becoming a full time artist, what exactly are those other things (for example business, money, etc.) ?

    • @minniesmall
      @minniesmall  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It varies but all the things you listed, working on my website, going through emails, also mornings are for personal art and I consider any commissions or work to build on my portfolio as 'work' too.

    • @dxyeart7318
      @dxyeart7318 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for replying! So what exactly is the difference between work to build on your portfolio and personal art? And could works be switched between these two sections? As in you complete a piece of 'personal art' and decide to put it into your portfolio. How come the work to build your portfolio isn't 'personal art'? Is it because you don't enjoy it as much? What is the border between these two?

    • @mivical
      @mivical 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dxye art yes to all that i think. personal art is just for fun without thinking too much of the end result but probably if later she wants to, she can switch it to portfolio art. portfolio art is made specifically with a target audience/aesthetic in mind and has to be much more polished. its mainly just the mindset while doing it.

    • @dxyeart7318
      @dxyeart7318 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      mivical Thanks!

    • @IrisMG
      @IrisMG 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      dxye art someone else answered, but a simplistic explanation is that any art produced for a portfolio is basically a sales piece with the purpose of getting the artist a job! Personal art is for fun and not necessarily geared towards selling an artist's skills

      It's the HP Spectre x360. If you want to have a look, there's a link in the description, I think it's on the third page 👍

    Hello Minnie Small! What kind of working tablet do you use in your work? Like sketching, brainstorming etc? I`m working with illustrations and I planning to buy a tablet but which one is the best? With both good reviews but also affordable in the market?

    ahhh the spectre x360, I've always loved the look of it.... when I was getting a new laptop that was the one I really wanted, but I couldn't justify to myself spending €1000/€1100 on a laptop even though I (just barely) had enough. I ended up getting the 13" hp pavilion x360, with an i5 processor for about €800 instead. What stylus are you using though, if you don't mind? I haven't been able to find one that's compatible with the screen, not any of the stylus' and tablet pens lying around the house from my sisters and I, and I'm worried about buying one without being able to test it first.

    Heyyy, just wanted to ask do you wakeup early, so you get things done when the sun is out? And do you wakeup everday at the same time?
