Nice build on the crosscut sled, again your methods and process are a little different from what Im use to seeing and I like your aproach to the way you do things. I allways look for your videos at the beginning of each week.

Love it!!! Trouble is with your channel, I started off looking at the mobile phone stands, moved swiftly onto the half lap joints and jig, and before you know it I'm on my second coffee and drawing up plans for a smaller table saw sled. Love the simplicity of your builds, instruction and manner. Top drawer Tommy 🇮🇪

Hi tommy a other geart video love the new intro . Just one thing and it is not in any way putting you down just saying so plz dont take any offence from this. The one thing i did not like is the music when you were working on the bandsaw and sander. Oh and as a cavan man i would never have money laying around the shop keep it in your pocket and never take it out lol

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks Thomas 😊 and harder than that to offend me 🤣🤣 just trying out new things and trust me them 4 coins is all I have 😭

just a question Tommy, could you use three quarter inch ply for the fence? because oak is a bit expensive and like my mate says "It don't grow on trees ya know"

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Hi Brian , yes you could but I would recommend doubling it up to 1.5 inch as it would be stiffer and give a bigger edge to square up.

What size table would you suggest for the average table saw?
    Great video
    Thank you

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Douglas, that would depend on what you wanted to cut using it. I would usually suggest keeping it just big enough for your needs as it makes it easier and lighter to use.

  • @kiwi-iu1ny

Still not using "Fritz und Franz"?
Why do you Americanize the European style table saw instead of using the much simpler solution developed years ago by the German woodworking business association? This proven solution is much more flexible and offers solution for many more problems.
Unfortunately didn't find a good English video, but Heiko Rech has a good intro which shows the possibilities without the need to understand the audio.
The rubber strip is available from Sautershop and a complete set with many add-ons is available from RUWI, but very expensive.
Just search for "Fritz und Franz" for more options

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I am fully aware of the fritz und Franz system and its design and its purpose as I have it here. But in my opinion it has lots of limitations and actually slows down productivity. But with regards to cutting small parts the fritz und franz does not give you zero clearance option that is necessary especially when using a panel saw as there is no zero clearance insert like a standard table saw so the offcut still becomes an issue

    • @kiwi-iu1ny
      @kiwi-iu1ny 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@ Sorry can't see what cannot be done with Fritz und Franz and don't understand the need for zero-clearance on a sliding table saw. If it's the part is that small other tools should be considered. In addition you loose the ability to use the scoring cut.
Otherwise keep up the good work.
