It wasn’t just about beyonce. It was about all black artists who made albums that were exceptional and commercial powerhouses who didn’t get nominations or awards by that show. Just because beyonce has the most awards doesn’t mean she doesn’t get snubbed especially when she never wins an award outside her genre while Taylor is beating better artists for hers.
Most of their wins are relegated to urban categories tho. It's like saying I'm the most awarded oscar winner of all time and it's in the technical.or.production fields.

People tell me popularity is a HUGE driver in the Grammys formula, so how do they not televise the country's MOST popular music genre?!? Envy made an interesting comment about our own awards. When Jess said we should come up with our own awards, somehow the BET Awards ain't good enough. And when it comes to film and television the NCAAP Image Awards aren't good enough like the Oscars. These efforts to showcase black art and entertainment are somewhat not good enough. Why is that? Only 3 Black women in the 66 years of the Grammys have won Album of the Year. The last one was Lauryn Hill, 25 years ago. Let that sink in. Tracy Chapman got love last night but it took a white man to get ppl interested in her again in 2024. She should've won Album of the Year in 1988 for the album that had "Fast Car" on it but George Michael won. Also, NO hip hop category was announced during the telecast of the Grammys this year. And the person that swept most of the rap categories got arrested.
Keeping it 100… There is NOT a Beyonce album that deserved Album Of The Year. The closest she came, was her debut album and between 2003 - 2005, there are at least 10 Albums I can name that were more complete than her Dangerously In Love album.

Jay-Z is the most awarded rapper at the Grammys of all time. Beyonce has more Grammys than anyone living or dead. He's the last person to criticise the Grammys. The Grammys and their preference are subjective, yes! But Jay-Z hates that 5% of the time he and Beyonce don't win.

It wasn’t just about beyonce. It was about all black artists who made albums that were exceptional and commercial powerhouses who didn’t get nominations or awards by that show. Just because beyonce has the most awards doesn’t mean she doesn’t get snubbed especially when she never wins an award outside her genre while Taylor is beating better artists for hers.
Most of their wins are relegated to urban categories tho. It's like saying I'm the most awarded oscar winner of all time and it's in the technical.or.production fields.
