    Love how the flip up counter and fold down table form a peninsula L shape kitchen!! Really clever! The reuse of the bathroom vanity for the kitchen is super smart as well! Probably saved a ton of time and money by doing that. Great house!

    I simply loved this tiny home... You can call it TINY just because of the size, but they have all that they need!! A kids play area too!! Kidding me!! That's an awesome idea!! Liked the Kitchen set up and a sofa turning into a bed.. A must "multipurpose" thing for a tiny home!! All in all, this is awesome!! Loads of love from India!!

    This is a beautiful build!! My husband and I have been together for 32 years. We have 6 children and will soon welcome our 14th grandchild to our family!! We've lived in the same home for going 27 years as of 8/19/2022, and have WAY TOO MANY THINGS!! UGH! Our home is paid off and I'm trying to convince him to go tiny and rent our 4 bedroom/ 2½ bathroom home. He's not sold on the idea, but I DEFINITELY am!! Thanks for letting us into your home. May God bless you and your little ones for years to come! And thank you for the tip off on 3/3/3! (I didn't know!) ❤️ 🙏🏼 🏡

      Hi Donna--we've been married 50 years and have a reno'd farmhouse on 180 acres in NB Canada--I want to go tiny and build it here with 'stuff' we have and drag it out west where our kids and grandkids are. He also does not want to do it. I've been called a hoarder but really trying to get rid of stuff.

    Have seen the fold down wall table before but never a ladder like that. Great idea. What about a ventilation system for mold/mildew control. Didn't hear anything about it. Thought it was a must for tiny homes? Comnents anyone? Still would need safer railings on stairway. But overall very nice. Looks like you're on family property: city with the additional domicile provision? Propane or natural gas from house line? Water hookup from house? Nice way to cut costs, save. Besides cute littte ones great to see the loyal dog🤗

    • @livingcompact
      @livingcompact 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks - that ladder idea was all Seth. Can’t think of anywhere else we saw that. We live in Colorado so it’s VERY dry and mold/mildew is not a problem. We did install a humid controlled fan in the bathroom that kicks on automatically if there was a humidity problem inside. Our wood stove also dried everything out and we put a kettle on top with water to add back humidity.
      Not much I can say about the handrail except that it was added on after our first was born. It’s not made for adults, but more to keep the kids safer on the stairs.
      We use the small propane tanks you can fill at gas stations. We have 2 and we run out of propane every 4 months. It’s crazy cost effective. Water comes from a hose because water tanks inside tend to leak and cause major issues. So our water pressure literally comes from the hose (which is food grade and we have 2 water filters).

    Sorry but this a huge bug bear for me.
    Debt free. Let's talk about that. Define debt. A debt is something you owe which can be money or something in kind payment.
    1) Money - you can be off the power, sewage & water grids. You can also grow a lot of your own food - all of which can cut living costs.
    What about things like insurances, access to communication networks (phone/net), motor vehicle registration, petrol & repairs to your vehicle, the food you can't grow, clothes, health costs not covered by insurance, gas for stoves/fridge if used. If you own the land you're parked on then you'll have local govt taxes to pay. All money that's owed, so therefore - a debt.
    2) In kind payments - some - not all - of the above costs can be met via barter - like labour for car repairs or some of the food you're not growing yourself. But you have to give something in return - an in kind payment. In other words - again - something you owe to someone else - aka a debt.
    Please get rid of your sense of entitlement.

    • @livingcompact
      @livingcompact 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Beth, sorry we pushed a button of yours. We’ve never heard your perspective before. We budget expenses that you’ve described, but we do not have loans or credit card debt anymore. Just utilities, taxes, insurance and life expenses so our cost of living is much less so we can live on a single income and spend time with our kids more. We mention it because it’s a perk of living tiny. We don’t have expensive rent or mortgage either. In our town, it costs $3,000k a month to rent and that is IF you can find a home to rent because of 2nd home owners/investors. Anyway, we hope you understand, we’re not trying to act entitled, just trying to inspire others that tiny living has benefits.

    • @bethdumont9020
      @bethdumont9020 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@livingcompact thankyou for your reply.
      I find it irritating when language is inaccurate - because people can form an inaccurate picture. I have a son with autism - one of the most overused diagnoses out there, in the main because it's a broad church into which a lot of other diagnoses can be made to fit, because the kid needs support and the system doesn't/won't/can't provide it for their condition but will for autism. This makes things worse for people with autism than it should be when it comes to community acceptance.
      "Freedom" as a term is loaded and implicitly defined by each of us. And there seem to be of late a lot of folk who seem to think it means the right to do what you want, when you want, to whom you want, the way you want. Nobody possesses that type of right because all our actions have consequences on others. Morally/ethically - no-one possesses a right of any kind to cause harm to others in any way.

It’s the max height and width without needing a permit to move.
