    Soap and warm water ruined my new goggles

    This really helps! I’ve been through over 10 pairs of motocross goggles and I’ve learned the goggle bag is like a glasses cleaning cloth and it need put to use.

      how do i clean my goggles that have some caked up mud from the day before without scratching them up too bad?

    • @carterfou
      @carterfou 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@beamingyoshitzgodwet them with warm water. A lot of it. Let it soak in so it breaks down the water easier, use a bit of pressure like a garden hose with your thumb over it to blast off the bulk, and continue from there with regular cleaning.

      If they come out, sure. Some mx goggles don’t have a removable lens, which is why I skipped that step. The bath is really about cleaning the foam and strap.

    After soaking the goggles and after they air dry, how do you clean the water spots?

    • @ILLAwomen
      @ILLAwomen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      squarebag73 You can use your goggle bag or a microfiber cloth to wipe those off. Use a tiny bit of water if they’re being stubborn. Just make sure the bag is clean! Good idea to throw that in the wash once in a while.

    And how do I get the soap out of the goggles

    • @ILLAwomen
      @ILLAwomen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      MB, the soap should be diluted enough in the water that this isn't an issue, but if you find there is soap residue, I'd submerge the goggles again in fresh water, swish them around, and let them dry again. You can use your goggle bag to clean off the water spots.

    Is there a way you can take very light scratches out of your goggles

    • @ILLAwomen
      @ILLAwomen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MB, unfortunately the only true solution I’ve found for scratches is to buy a replacement lens. I always store them in the goggle bag and I keep one tear off on my goggles at all times to protect them because I’m klutzy 🤪

    • @ILLAwomen
      @ILLAwomen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After you take them out the water and let everything dry, use a clean goggle bag to gently remove the water spots.

      @@ILLAwomen so soaking them in the soapy water should remove the mud?

    • @ILLAwomen
      @ILLAwomen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anthony000izt yes, warm soapy water or run it under warm water from the the tap to remove mud if it’s caked on before you put in water bath. Just don’t use any brushes or towels or anything that could scratch the lens.

    Can you put goggles in the goggle bag and put in the washer?

    • @ILLAwomen
      @ILLAwomen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha! Never tried it. I think you'd be fine as long as the goggle bag stays closed and you put the washer on the delicate cycle. Stay away from any fabric softeners or harsh detergents. Let us know how it works out.
