As a professional landscape photog, i think you did a wonderful job on this! its not all glamorous, its hard work, having taking my wedding/portrait photog friends on shoots, they now appreciate the work that goes into this. its nice to see you go back to your roots Kai!
Notice that at 11:00 when a big wave was coming, he quickly covers the camera with his hand, yet not thinking about his feet at all, and then, another S word afterwards)
Some seriously great footage from this one, and some good information. I like seeing the country outings you three take and hearing about Kai's own history in photography. MORE PLEASE.
Hello there :-) well, im a starter as a photographer and your tutorials are really interesting, i would like to request you for a nigth time photography video :-)
There's nothing wrong with learning to shoot film on a Pentax. Half the world born before 1980 leaned on a Pentax. Most of he rest learned on garbage like Yashika, Voigtlander, Rolliflex, Konica, Zenit, Mitsuba, Contax......or etc. It was all about the glass back then. Only pros and people with a financier (generous parents) were fortunate enough to start out with a Nikon, Minolta (now Sony) or Canon.
MrRuffun Please don't get nostalgic. Face it, by contemperary standards their 35mm offerings are garbage. ..... And yes we're talking about 35mm, consider the age of the average viewer.
The whole point of a landscape is to capture the landscape. So capturing it in portrait is better if you wanted to get more of the sky or the ground. Landscapes in "landscape" orientation would be better for, you guessed it LANDSCAPE😮😮
I agree with the first part. But why would you always have to put it in landscape? Or why would you always have to put horizon line in the middle of photo? Most of my best landscape shots were made in portrait orientation. Also if you want to add drama to portrait photos you shoot wide angle in landscape orientation. Just because it's portrait it doesn't mean shooting in portrait orientation is necessarily. The same is with landscapes...You choose. :)
Neutral Density (ND) filters - if you haven't figured it out yet. ND filters typically contribute to longer exposure times (slower shutter speeds) without having to over-absorb too much light.
This is awesome :) I love these tips videos and i hope you will do more of them! Could for example do one about astrophotography. Keep up the good work!
I traded my Canon 1D-Mark 4 for the all new Nikon D3200!!! Im so fucking stoked! But my friends said it wasn't a good deal? I dont believe them, the dude who traded me said it was way better!
I know if I watch your videos I am going to laugh at some point, so thank you for keeping the humor in this. Cameras aren't the most undweebish things to talk about. You 3 make a great team.
'Wong' is probably the best surname for youtube ever. Kai Wong and Freddie Wong are the two most epic people ever. They should team up and make an action movie photography guide.
Wow Kai that was actually educational! I always enjoy the digital rev videos but it was great to see you put yourself out there. I hope Alamby managed to stay dry? Great job all!
The picture at 11:18 is so nice, the way the colors blend. If there were people in the picture facing different directions, it could be an album cover hahahah
Brings back memories. We visited Hk to shoot an engagement and had a free 2 days to shoot whatever we wanted. We visited this Shek-O as our first stop. We hired a taxi to go there at around 4:30am and the driver looked at us like we were crazy. Lol. We also walked in that same street and it was like a scene from a scary Japanese Horror Flick. I think we had a flashlight though. So, it wasn't that hard for us to climb down those rocks. :)
The best tip is the part about bringing bread, and a backup roll of bread.
This to me is another one of Kai's best episode. :) On par with the Early Morning Street Photography episode.
here's a 6th tip. keep your camera strapped while moving over rough terrain.
and pull your pants up when jumping between rocks
I just want a nice beginner camera 😫
I still take pics on my iphone
Get a nikon d5300, 70d is way too expensive for a beginner
Like €899 isnt a lot of money for just THE BODY...
+Javon Antoine black friday coming up look for some good cops

Andrey Ruznyaev a soggy camera is worse than soggy shoes.
Kai has one of the the best sense of humour . What a great presenter !
Enjoy your corky yet educational videos. Thank you!
Some seriously great footage from this one, and some good information. I like seeing the country outings you three take and hearing about Kai's own history in photography. MORE PLEASE.
It is pretty helpful for an amateur!
The thing I like most about this series is Kai is actually a good photographer. Nice job. Keep em coming.
The funny thing is: At 9:09 you can see a pretty good tripod in the backround... :D
Janis Farhat Kai actually said that the producer wouldn't let him to use the Gitzo tripod, which is the one you are talking about at 3:00 :)
Janis Farhat Why is that funny? It's for the camera used to record the video.
Janis Farha
I like these videos videos! The tips are great and its always awesome to see everyone in action and how they work individually.
IS THAT PASSION HD MUSIC at 1:03
oh god please dont XD
+Prashant Kumar WHYYYYY XD

Kai always cracks me up. He's actually really funny. Kai, Lok and Alamby make a great team.
Hello there :-) well, im a starter as a photographer and your tutorials are really interesting, i would like to request you for a nigth time photography video :-)
Kai has some serious photography chops. I was really impressed with his shots.
PENTAX! there you go. please do some videos on pentax. They're getting more popular and i think many pentaxians would like lens-reviews done by you!
A nice joint and the sunset... Wow that'd be great
you guys should do a video on nd filters
I love this, just like the aura and how silent it is, its beautiful.
This was my very first DRTV video. Still love it!
+Paul McGee one of the best videos
Simply amazing. Of all my subscriptions, DigitalRev always gets top priority... videos like this are exactly why.
tip #6: dont dress like your going to a fucking nightclub
Had me learning, and laughing out loud. Great vid Kai and easy to follow. Thanks :)
When he holds the filter right up against the lens, won't this also cause the camera to move slightly and blur his images?
At 1:33 Kai talks about the whiteness of the waves smashing up against the rocks and the camera pans to a pitch black scenery. Excellent!

+David George lol my dad saved up from his part time job for a few months to buy a Nikon F2 when he was a student. He lived in Hong Kong then too
I find it funny that you think those manufacturers are garbage. They made better glass than most of the glass we have now.
I love all his videos, but he seems really passionate about this one. I really like his persistence.
landscapes in portrait?
Lol ikr
You two are the only one who finds landscapes in portrait weird... How long have you been in photography? 3 weeks? :D
The whole point of a landscape is to capture the landscape. So capturing it in portrait is better if you wanted to get more of the sky or the ground. Landscapes in "landscape" orientation would be better for, you guessed it LANDSCAPE😮😮

I traded my Canon 1D-Mark 4 for the all new Nikon D3200!!! Im so fucking stoked! But my friends said it wasn't a good deal? I dont believe them, the dude who traded me said it was way better!
+Boston Dipper Dude you just got ripped off completely! The 1D mark IV is far better and about 4 X the price of the 3200!
harryz567 lmfao... Your watching a channel based around satirical humor, yet you diddnt understand mine.
Boston Dipper Lol you sold me well, I had a feeling you were trolling though.
