- "El combate de las edades". Y es que se enfrentaba un aspirante de 42 años ante un campeón de 29. Muy pocos dieron oportunidades de victoria a Foreman pero no se descartaba nada. Foreman absorbió la primera combinación de Holyfield. Pero el veterano luchador se mostró como un rival duro de roer aguantando los doce asaltos e incluso haciendo balancear a Holyfield en el séptimo. Al final de la lucha, la victoria a los puntos fue para Holyfield, pero Foreman se ganó el respeto de todos por su valentía.

Holyfield said that one of those punches from Foreman was *THE HARDEST* punch he’s ever been hit with! He thought all his teeth were gone!
Sooooooo glad Foreman was able to win back the title at 45!!
If George could be this powerful at this age, one can now imagine how skillful and good a boxer Ali was fighting a much younger George Foreman.

I remember the excited anticipation of this historical Championship bout featuring two of the classiest, beloved, and ultra-super talented boxers in history. Oddly, it was difficult to choose who to root for because most folks loved them both so much. I decided to root for George Foreman because his story will never be repeated in a million years.
The love that beamed from this man came right through your television set. If it wasn't for Muhammud Ali than George Foreman would be the Greatest of All-Time. I still love them both. True American Heroes in every respect. God Bless them forever!!!
Evander seems like a terrific person. I’d love to meet this guy! When he defeated Mike Tyson I was in such awe! The heart he has knows no bounds! Always loved his boxing style! An amazing champion!!

Quem conhece a história do boxe nos últimos 45 anos e conhece a carreira do George sabe que se ele fosse 10anos mais novo o Evander ia beijar lona, a luta George fez com 42 anos é impressionante mesmo estando longe da sua melhor forma aguentou os 12 rounds e poderia ter vencido seus golpes ainda tinham potência aos 42 anos!!! Quando vejo ele lutar tenho certeza que Ali era um monstro do boxe pq George era um tanque lutando no auge forte rápido técnico com poucos para mim um dos melhores de todos os tempos!!! Mas Evander não fica atrás grande lutador um dos melhores também!

Ali was a master tactician ,and he used his brain to beat Foreman . And even in the fight against Ali it was Foreman fighting forward (as he always does) and Ali fighting backwards . Untill Foreman ran out of gas . But even Ali knew would if he would go face to face with George from the start , then George would have put him to sleep 100% . He could knock em out like no one can / could .

George does lumber around a bit but damn the dude is like a tank 😂. I see Holyfield tagging with a couple of well placed body hooks and quick shots to the face but the big man just walks right through them. He doesn’t seem the least bit disturbed by a lot of them. Dude is a great for a reason.
Also loving Holyfield’s movement. Nice footwork and speed for a heavyweight :) also moves fluidly (even now)
What a remarkable career for both of them.However, in my opinion Big George is in the top five heavyweights champions.

@Sheha Nagaraj if u think about it. a normal kid would look at the rope a dope as cowardly . that is the only way Ali could beat Foreman. boring way to fight, Ali was not a knock out puncher always went the distance. my number 2 though. 60's had no fighters for Ali but a old Liston and Frazier at the very end. 80's had nobody for Tyson but an old Holmes(Foreman retired early) a true champion wins no matter what and the losses to Holmes and Lewis are big. fighters dont match up well with others though. Marciano,Tyson, Frazier, match up well against the Ali and Holmes but not the Foreman, and tyson Fury Foreman and tyson fury would kill tyson and Frazier. really want to know if the Liston Ali fight was rigged?

Sheha the Ali Liston second fight might have been rigged but without Ali's knowledge. You can hear Ali yell at Liston something like " Get up you're not going to do
that " Ali's bravado and big mouth was to promote fights to get big money. I remember these fights when they happened and as a teenager I figured out that Cassius Clay was putting on a show. Almost all his opponents have gone on record as loving him.George Foreman said Ali wasn't just the best boxer, he was the best person period.

Two great fighters , two legends , to great men , it is a historic fight !
This is why Foreman is the best heavyweight of all time. Even though he lost to Ali, he had a second career after that and did what nobody ever did before. Foreman was the knockout king of boxing, was built like a tank, had almost endless stamina, etc. He had no weaknesses in his game. Imagine a fighter that could hit like Mike Tyson, absorb punches like Ray Mercer, and had the stamina to go 12 rounds if needed. If Foreman and Ali had a trilogy of fights instead of just one fight, I think Foreman wins the next two fights.
No...I dont think Foreman or Tyson would have been able to defeat Ali because of the style of fighting.. Foreman had the attacking style...he went forward to fight...fighting on front foot...but Ali had a mixed style...he played both moving forward and stepping bachward..i.e.both attacking & defensive...when he could not attack much...he defended very well and tired the opponent playing 10-12 rounds... and when the opponent got fully tired, Ali went forward and go for the kill
He could have all those tools, but the mentALIty Ali had would've at least been 2 out of 3. The greatest punch never thrown. He outsmarted the hell out of George lol.
Lots of respect for Foreman to accomplish what he did at that age.

would have been around 220lbs -- his prime weight
he fought at, he would have had the gas in the tank
to finish Holyfield off. Evander is a warrior though.

walking a long distance, carrying 40 lbs.
