It won’t necessarily change your job requirements but it will definitely make it harder to find a job with just an associate’s degree. Radiation therapists do not diagnose cancer, that is the job of an oncologist. Radiation therapists administer cancer treatment to patients and support them emotionally as they go through the process. The only thing similar to diagnosing is performing routine scans to see the progress of their cancer treatment, but that isn’t really diagnosing it
