It would be interesting to see a journal that you keep, of writing with your different pens, while at the haunted mansion. The energy of Walt, and his passions, channeling through your pen 🖊️ 🖋️ that would be something. Especially if you had his choice of pen there. Wow!
So my little notebook that I carry with me normally just has my positions throughout the day. We rotate positions every 30 minutes and I wanted to see if there were any days that showed any consistency. So far, no! Every day has been different! I also track my breaks and downtimes at the ride. My plan for my next work pocket journal is to be more like a journal and less like a tracking sheet.
I have a couple. Also a parker 61 and 51. I have a few eversharps too which are very nice vintage pens. For modern pens i have a pelikan. Pen afficionado here. Oh i have a waterman vintage too but i like waterman as a brand the least.
I don't know why I am so drawn to Waterman but it has something to do with the company being founded on my birthday. I really only like pre-1930 Waterman stuff. Hard rubber and overlay for the win! :D
Really cool pen! In regards to the flow/dryness issues you mentioned, Lamy Blue-Black is a very very dry ink. I have a bottle of it and I have problems with it in pretty much everything except incredibly wet pens. This might be a little melodramatic but this ink is the bane of my existence. You should give this pen another shot with a wetter ink, you might like it a lot more.
I haven’t started my vintage collection yet, still working through enjoying my modern pens but shaeffer is the first on my list when I go vintage. They’re so beautiful! I have my eyes on the shaeffer oversize balance. Excited to see what other pen reviews you have in store for us!
Really nice pen. I loved the old commercial at the beginning. I wonder if using some pen flush or even a little dish detergent would help get the feed performing better?.
Great video and choice of pen. I'm a vintage collector and I have bought several from Greg, who's always helpful and knowledgeable. One suggestion I'd have is in the ink choice. I've never had good experiences with Lamy inks, especially in vintage pens.. you might try some Watermans or Diamine inks - no sheening colors though! Not great for the nib or feed.
How is the overall weight of this pen? I've used smaller pens kind this and although they work just fine.. I like a larger pen in my hand for extended writing. That is unless it's balanced really well and it feels good.. with no need to grip any harder.
I grew up using Sheaffers and that Triumph nib was the state of the art, fountain pens having adjusted from single paper writing to multiple copies. The pen reviewed, an early Triumph, was a zippy eye catcher in its day. The long Triumph nibs found on Snorkels were the final iteration although cheaper pens had reduced quality Triumph nibs for two decades. Sheaffer not only invented the Snorkel but the Sheaffer inlaid and Snorkel nibs as well. There was and is no equally innovative firm. Parker and Waterman stuck to the tried and true. Parker did play with design.
I love this little pen, and I feel bad that I used Lamy ink with it because it performs wonderfully with other inks. Thanks for the insight and for checking out my video James!
Cool intro! I like that you used those old commercials! Congrats on your new pen!

This weekend there will be a video about my Lochby pocket Journal. It’s a brutally honest review 😅
So beautiful. And your handwriting is just wow. 👍🏻🤩
Thank you so much! 😃

I've got the matching mechanical pencil from the mid-40s of this pen. They are gorgeous!
I wish I could find a nice affordable vintage sheaffer with one of those wrap around nibs. They are lovely!
BEAUTIFUL REVIEW CRAIG .
I really like the green stripes on these vintage sheaffers. They look elegant and write well. I agree that watermans' flex is beautiful.

Dude thanks for the info on the ink! I will try it out with something else and see if it helps!

This fountain pen journey has only just begun! I will FOR SURE be getting more! I also want to try a snorkel! Thanks so much for watching my videos!
I am not much for vintage pens but if I comment on anything I think it should be about how good your handwriting is!
Thanks so much! 😃

I’ll give it a shot! I have pen flush from Goulet

I like the character in the writing with the nib. You might actually have an extra fine which well writes pretty thin but it looks good.
Nice looking pen, even if it’s a bit fussy. You might try a Sheaffer Legacy 2. It’s a terrific writer.
It’s doing alright for 79 years old! I’m using it right now for my daily journal and it’s flowing a bit better!

I mean it’s a light little pen but it has a decent weight because of its filling mechanism. I wouldn’t write with this one for long periods of time
@@CraigRoccanova it looks beautiful and I can imagine it being a good pen to take on trips. Sign some documents etc.. 🤔

I like these big nibs mostly for how huge they are and probably a half gram of gold. For nibs i really like the eversharps though maybe the best.
