This was a very good and informative video. I do believe some of the comments are correct. Tear Drop enthusiast are typically true minimalist. When getting above $15,000 it defeats the purpose of the minimalist lifestyle. However, the ideas and designs are things Tear Drop purists can copy and redesign and use for their own less expensive trailers.
Thank you Van Clan for including us, we are honored! Just so people get the right info, most of the video clips are from our smallest teardrop, DoDrop Alpha. TerraDrop is significantly bigger and can easily support 4+ person families with the addition of a rooftop tent. Thanks again Van Clan!

The ‘teardrop’ market might be growing but these new ‘ideas’ aren’t getting WHY the teardrop market is growing - which is mainly people don’t want to spend the money the traditional campers cost or have the vehicles required to pull them. Get Your Prices Down.
The current teardrop prices are too close to bigger trailers. Why only sit and recline when you can stand as well in a slightly larger unit?
joe woodchuck Exactly. The Teardrops are popular because people can tow them with smaller vehicles but the manufacturers are taking advantage of that and marking up the pricing. But what they’re not getting is that since the prices are so high people are just going to trade in for a bigger vehicle and get the new, larger and lighter full sized ones anyway or buy a low end model or not buy one at all, and then in the end the nice Teardrop market will fault because of greed.
There is one exception though. There's a sort of shell teardrop which is quite affordable. You can either accesorize it with your own stuff whatever way you want to, or let them build up a package with their offerings a la carte. Damn I can't remember the name. If you search for teardrops it may come up. I'll post here if I track it down.
joe woodchuck Yeach, there are some out there. There are also non-teardrop but smaller traditionally style campers but lightweight, with a wet bath, kitchen and queen bed/diner for 20G and under.
EXACTLY. Going over $30,000 for a teardrop is a bit excessive and ridiculous. $50,000? That's dumb. Just get a bigger trailer and it'll still be a few thousand bucks cheaper!

I just went to the Earth Traveler site. The one you apparently show here is listed for $30K which is the T250LX (emphasis on “LX”). They do make 2 models. The one for $10K is the T300 Standard and as the name implies...is rather standard, but I’m sure still very nice.

My GOD these are crazy crazy prices. I think I'm going back to start building tear drops. I was building them for Happier Camper the BEAN trails in Salt lake City. Mine will come in at 10k or less? I'm NOT GREADY Like most manufacturers

the Vestibule is much more sensible, refined and elegant
The axles are strong enough to navigate any potholed flying j or petro parking lot.
Adding all those extras to these tiny trailers substantially increases it's weight. Sort of defeats the purpose of towing a "light" trailer.
Bean Trailer should be in Top Ten without a doubt.

Thanks for the video, but I need more than an inside sleeping quarters. I can sleep in a big tent with a couple rooms in it and be more comfortable and have privacy! I think these campers are for the MEN who go 4-wheeling & hunting.

There is nothing affordable about these for the working person, who they are apparently aimed at.
Every time an idea is brought forth aimed at the common person it's priced out of their reach unless you finance it over the rest of your life.

You didn't include SoCal Teardrops, better than any on this list- I know, because I own one.
When you can buy a 20Ft Geo Pro with solar panels, 2 batteries, 2 propane tanks, AC, shower, toilet, kitchen, refrigerator, sofa, dinning table, TV queen bed, massage storage, outside awnings, outside propane grill and full standup space for $24,000
Every last one of these trailers are over priced.
I simply cannot figure out where you store your dirty boots in these campers - they will be wet and cold (or stolen) if left outside. And it will make a mess if you place them in the inside bed
Dang this makes me want to just leave my home made camper on the side of the road and buy one of these

Terradrop looks good but sleeps 4?! How do you figure? You can probably stack 4 bodies in there but i hardly think a nights sleep would be what would happen. Come on. You shouldn't be afraid to say it only sleeps 2. Teardrops aren't family friendly for families of 4 and thats ok.
Hey there Tomas! I very much appreciate Van Clan for including us in this list, but they actually used the wrong video clips for their description of TerraDrop. They were showing you DoDrop Alpha, which is our smallest off-road teardrop, good for two people at best. TerraDrop is quite a bit bigger with a queen size bed and the ability to put nearly any size roof tent. We have one client going on extended expeditions with his wife and 5 kids (4 kids in tent, parents and baby in the sleeping cabin). I easily and comfortably fit my family of 4 in mine, kids are very happy in the RTT above...
Surprise that the Sarfari Condo Alto is not on the list, and it can sleep 4 with an optional bunk bed configuration.

Geez, for less then 10 000$ you could buy a « Pet, and smoke free » used casket and simply buy a used U-haul trailer and park it on a brand new, never used grave site and sleep in a quiet environment for the rest of your life!(And after life in fact!) o-0
10k is reasonable but anything near 50k is ridiculous. Why on earth would you pay 50k to sleep outside? Yes the most basic function of this thing is to serve as a tent. Pretty stupid of that company to price it so high. Yes I know everyone has different incomes but I highly doubt you're paying 50k and going camping if you earn 150k, 200k, 300k....
