Speaking as a rolex owner, they are keeping the production numbers down on purpose. The other day, the price of gold had gone up by $40 in a day and their prices shot up by $300 and $350 a piece on their gold watch pieces. As you said the gold fluctuation price is already built in so there was no need for it. And they already purchase the gold and diamonds way, way, way below the market prices because of their volume purchasing power. It's nothing but greed and for those in the after market sellers in asia and elsewhere.
