You did a wonderful job!!! I wasn't sure how to fill in the curvy part of my bench, and was about to give up altogether on my project. But you have inspired and motivated me. Thank you!!!
Thanks for posting this. I had this idea for some old chairs but wasn't quite sure how to do it. Your video filled in the blanks. Thanks. Weekend project!
This is so awesome. I’m going to do this, but I’m going to do bright orange and yellow on the metal. I’m going to paint them like a fading color bond. Then make the table the same and the big umbrella orange with lemon patterns. Then place some tiny bright lights around it. Oh I’m so excited :)
I would recommend that you use 1-1/4'' deck screwds instead of drywall screws on the exterior. Also a drill and countersink rather thasn drill and then countersink.
Like the Idea, im trying to do that my self but using an old wooden slats from a crib/day bed. . But my approach will allow me to replace the wood slats should they break in time. Question, how are the drywall screws holding up? i am using a bolt/nut approach to fasten them. Depending on the chair your up-cycling the channels are going to be different. Mine were Hampton Bay models. So I removed the spline and sling material from the channels. I was able to use a #8-32 x 3/4" bolt and #8x32 nut. (still determining cost factor to upgrade to Stainless or find a black oxide type nut/bolt combo).

Looks very nice. I would also rip two thin equal strips of timber , thin enough so they can bend and be pliable, fix them onto the chair arm rails.
Love this!
This is an amazing idea... l will try with my patio chairs...
Great idea!!!
Thanks. Already removed the webbing but have a roll so I will cut and sew strips to add between chit and boards. I was thinking of using cedar wood.

Do you have anything for the glass table that the glass shattered out of?
What screws did u use
You’re very cute, thanks for the great tip!
what kind of screws?
Some of my outdoor chairs need this, but I don't have the ability to do this. Bummer. ~~Kitty
I did it with Woodglut.
I bought Stodoys plans once and now I have lifetime access to thousands of woodworking projects.
talking...power tools....so add a second track of music to the frenetic din !!????
I did it myself with the Woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
@YuriyKhovansky... Don't you have to pay to use Woodglut's plans?
