Not every saxophone song needs wild soloing and in your face extravagance. As a veteran saxophone listener (lol) I find it refreshing to see somebody playing a simplistic cover. The low range and use of tone is really well showcased in this piece, well done

5 years ago I saw a TH-cam cover by Charlez(Halo) and decided that day in my heart that I was going to teach myself the Sax and do TH-cam covers as well. So I just started Alto sax in 7th grade and I was thinking about quitting. After watching this all I could think about was that could I be that good if I don't quit? I started thinking and going to continue. The sound is so smooth and so smoothing. If honestly felt like my ears were getting a massage thank you and good playing.
You can defintely get to that point, no matter what instrument you play keep getting better at it because otherwise youll be someone one day wishing they knew how to play an instrument, you can love your past self for it. This is how i am with guitar and i promise you its worth it in the end no matter the instrument!
A bit late but oh well don't ever quit I quit for 5 years and have just started playing again I was 11 when I stopped so stick at it and remember practice all the time.

I used to play alto saxophone back in middle school. I had to quit because of all of the brain tumor surgeries I had 😔 I am currently looking now to try and find another one so I can get back into playing again. i believe he vibrating and key clicking is do to the fact of the microphone you have which transmits any type of sounds including when you press the keys but its not really that distracting just listen to you play i've fallen more in love with the saxophone. and i am planning on learning how to play it
You'll have a great time!!! Work hard and get through the first year. It's going to be tough, but make sure to practice as much as possible!!! That is the only way to get better.

I think you all got it wrong: charlez360 wanted to post HIS version of "All of Me" with his saxophone and his liking to play it on YouToube! So it is my opinion that it is impropriate to tell him that he plays it wrong. If you want to hear it play differently then put your version on and wait for the reaction of people, who listen to your version of this song. Putting someone down, just because some knowalls can play it better is not the right way and not what it was meant like. He wrote so nicely he hopes you enjoyed a lot and hope you do to you just shut your mouth and watch another version, which you like better. That is my opinion !

Absolutely beautiful. I have played alto saxophone since I was in 5th grade and I am still amazed when I hear someone play with such emotion and control. It makes my heart happy to hear such beautiful music come from this instrument.

Around the time when this video came out I was in 5th grade and I remember watching it knowing in a year I was going to play saxophone for the middle school and then this was the first song I learned, a year later I played it at a talent show and I still have the video of it. I’m now a junior in high school. Time is flying
Mouthpiece/reed combo, tongueing the notes instead of slurring too much which forces you require more breath. (listen to his sound very closely) He does phrase out the lyrics, but, you can hear him tongueing the notes as well. It's what I do. Learning Jazz helped me which accenting certain notes and phrase out too. You have to practice to blend them well.

I think 1k people accidentally pressed the dislike button because his tone was full and round. Not to mention his sound was a miz between soothing jazz and contemporary. -9th grade Chair 1 Alto sax player for CHS
took me a few moments to adjust to the more 'focused'/tight/cleaner envelope and phrasing and more rapid vibrato, because it is not so common to hear all that. But it only took me a few moments, once I got what it was, I think it might be a bit unique and nice. Maybe it will become , or already is, a sort of signature thing for the artist. It's a different set of playing attributes than I think we are used to hearing, but it doesn't seem a less valid set.
I didn't hear much of that but what was a bit distracting was the clicking of the keys(?) the mic is picking up a bit much but overall this is awesome. Great playing, i miss playing the sax. Wish I kept up with it.
Id agree with nick... I hear the little vibrations and its usually from when your embouchure starts quivering due to fatigue or nervousness. It still sounds great though
To me the vibration doesn't sound great, but it's not bad either. It sounds intentional, emotional, experimental. I agree the key-clicking is distracting.

I’m a freshman and I just started playing sax not even a year ago and I’ve been listening to you play sax for just over 2 years now, and I love it your a part of why I want to play sax so thank you and you sound amazing!
I think you all got it wrong: charlez360 wanted to post HIS version of "All of Me" with his saxophone and his liking to play it on YouToube! So it is my opinion that it is impropriate to tell him that he plays it wrong. If you want to hear it play differently then put your version on and wait for the reaction of people, who listen to your version of this song. Putting someone down, just because some knowalls can play it better is not the right way and not what it was meant like. He wrote so nicely he hopes you enjoyed a lot and hope you do to you just shut your mouth and watch another version, which you like better. That is my opinion !

Absolutely beautiful. I have played alto saxophone since I was in 5th grade and I am still amazed when I hear someone play with such emotion and control. It makes my heart happy to hear such beautiful music come from this instrument.
I love this song and I love the way this guy plays the song it is so beautiful and just gets me in a good mood or attitude when I am feeling down or sad and it helps me learn to keep trying on alto saxophone no matter what and keep practicing

Around the time when this video came out I was in 5th grade and I remember watching it knowing in a year I was going to play saxophone for the middle school and then this was the first song I learned, a year later I played it at a talent show and I still have the video of it. HeyItsGabby x the mouthpiece plays a large part, but also how experienced you are. You can feel out the tone your making with enough practice

good night is it like that with all saxes or alto only?
Mouthpiece/reed combo, tongueing the notes instead of slurring too much which forces you require more breath. (listen to his sound very closely) He does phrase out the lyrics, but, you can hear him tongueing the notes as well. It's what I do. Learning Jazz helped me which accenting certain notes and phrase out too. You have to practice to blend them well.

took me a few moments to adjust to the more 'focused'/tight/cleaner envelope and phrasing and more rapid vibrato, because it is not so common to hear all that. But it only took me a few moments, once I got what it was, I think it might be a bit unique and nice. Maybe it will become , or already is, a sort of signature thing for the artist. It's a different set of playing attributes than I think we are used to hearing, but it doesn't seem a less valid set.

It sounds good but the vibration is really distracting... its (hopefully) not vibrato... but it sounds like a nervous type of sound, just my opinion.
I didn't hear much of that but what was a bit distracting was the clicking of the keys(?) the mic is picking up a bit much but overall this is awesome. Great playing, i miss playing the sax. Wish I kept up with it.
Id agree with nick... I hear the little vibrations and its usually from when your embouchure starts quivering due to fatigue or nervousness. It still sounds great though
