Unfortunately we don't have much of anything like that here. Another reason we're trying to move to Dallas. Fruit availability!
1) bubbles? (some kind of non-soapy/antiseptic solution?) wonder if they'd chase or like to 'bill-pop' em!
2) laser-pointers? (personally i hate the idea of those with cats, for fear of accidentally catching/harming their eyes; maybe the same with tooqs!)
3) wondering about anything else safe and 'floaty' that might entertain them; entice them and work their wings out a lil' bit! safely...

Toupac did a double-take when he witnessed you openly sneak some dragon fruit, and eat it. When you ate a second piece, he looked at you as if to say, alright mate! your secret is safe with me. He is such a joy to watch.

That is the best rating system! Change nothing. ...Also, Tupac is so excited around the end of the 8 min mark and when you try the dragonfruit. Those little hops are so cute.

Dragon fruit is my favorite. The best I can describe how it tastes is that it tastes like lightly sweet milk and has the texture of a kiwi. That is what dragon fruit tastes like to me anyway.

Are they able to taste things at the end of their beaks?? It seems like they hold food for a bit before tossing it into their mouths
I'm pretty sure their tongues actually stretch across their whole beak, if you look closely at around 5:40 you can see it moving
Toupac's tongue goes beyond his beak. He used to rub it all over the couch when Brock first got him.
They also can taste things, while vary little research on their tongues has been done, almost every toucan owner say they can and will spit out food they think taste bad
They definitely have a strong and particular sense of taste. The tongue runs all the way up the lower mandible so they can taste at the very tip too. But it's just easier for them to grab with the end of their beak which is why they hold everything like that.
Dragonfruit is a cactus fruit. It also comes in a red flesh variety. It’s always reminded me of a disorganized kiwifruit 😂

I had a friend describe it as 'mellowed out pear' when we had her try it for the first time.
I went to look for low iron foods for suggestions.
Maybe a different type of berry? Or tofu?

I had a rescue dog with major medical issues. Her bills were crazy for me. But her behavior and demeanor were of the best possible type you could have in a dog. It was all worth it. It’s why I have an affinity for Toupac. He’s just perfect

Sometimes the inside is fuchsia. I taught in an elementary school in China and they would give the kids whole dragon fruits with their lunch. So yummy 🐉
The can-rating system seems fine to me. If the indivitual reaction is a bit iffy, that could be half a can for example. 🤷♂️

As Brock said in a previous video, Patreon is great because it's steady and he can plan around it. Just a quick little piece of info: The dragon fruit which I'm pretty sure is native to Mexico has a red color to it rather then the grey color one which is native to Asia. Most people find the red one to be far sweeter then the grey one. I've only had the grey one and imo, it tastes like shit lol. It's not bad. It's like one of those fruits you'd gladly eat if it was there, but you wouldn't buy it yourself.

I have a question I forgot to ask about during the stream. Do toucans have pin feathers? And if so, how do they get Em’?
Yes. They preen them out or scratch them off with their feet. In Toupac's case, I have to help him preen the feathers around his head and neck because he can't use his feet to take care of himself.
You should try having them paint!
Set up a canvas or large posterboard on the ground, get some non-toxic paint for them to hop around in (most people use tempera paint made for kids when painting with their pets), and let them hop around. See what comes of it.

To be honest, I'm just happy watching you doing stuff and interacting with your toucans. It doesn't have be something new. So long as it's not repeated very often, I'm happy to watch your videos. I think that during these times when nobody really wants to go out shopping too much I don't think it'll be easy to do new creative things every video particularly if you can't get the type of food or whatever it is you need for that new thing(because shelves are empty of so many things). So that's why I'm saying I'm cool with whatever you come up with for your channel. As long as I see cute adorable toucans, I'm not complaining. I will understand if you repeat ideas from your older videos.

My Aracari is OBSESSED with dragonfruit, even more than blueberries! We give her a tiny bit in her fruit mix every day. She likes the red-fleshed variety even more but it's unfortunately harder to find.
Be warned: you will find those seeds. on. every. thing. EVERYTHING! They're fruit shrapnel. Places my big-billed weirdo has flung rogue dragonfruit seeds for later discovery include: the ceiling, my hair, laundry, inside kitchen cabinets, on computer monitors, under my bed, etc. Worth it to see her happy though!
