@Aheaddrummer15 Basically, what you wanna do is use the rebound of the drum to basically play in between the hi-hat notes. 32nd notes if you're thinking of the hi-hat notes as 16th notes

it dosnt have to be complicated to be creative. ava drumming is quite simple but it works well with the songs

im a drummer too yeah you are on the right track. you can hear it, but it is very low. this is very hard to explain but when your hearing the louder taps, hes just hitting it harder, so in between the fast soft ones, he does a hard one hope i helped.

The end of your "2 pattern verse groove" sounds strange. But you now use the Push-Pull Motion for the Hat. The only-downstrokes in your other Video seemed very cramped. Especially the fill at 1:41 is very nice. :) All in all quite cool :]
