How to SWING a Golf Club Properly EVERY TIME for SENIOR GOLFERS

  • In this video, I am going to show you how to build a golf swing from the ground up. Much like building a house, if the foundations are poor, the house falls down. In golf, if your setup is poor, you’ve no chance of making a consistent golf swing.
The setup consists of a good grip, the correct width of the stance, the correct position in relation to your feet, correct body alignment, and correct posture. In this video, I show you a simple technique to help you become very efficient at setting up to the golf ball correctly.
The golf swing requires two things to work in harmony with each other. One is the body movement, and the second is the movement of the golf club. I will show you how to move your body efficiently and how to simplify the movement of the arms, wrists, and golf club.
As you can see from this video, doing things the right way will literally change your game. Quick fixes work for a while, but fundamental changes require structure and a clear understanding.

Your advice and swing method is probably the best, clearest and most attainable for the average golfer that I have ever seen on You Tube. I have tried many methods and this by far is the most body friendly and most graceful method out there. But does it work? Absolutely! Well done and try not letting the more caustic among us deter you. They are, in the end, only hurting themselves. You method is solid, true and attainable by just about anyone from what I can see. Keep up the amazing and clear teaching Julian. Todd - BC Canada.

Thank you for your wonderful and thoughtful comment Todd. The modern golf swing while powerful is by far the best method for the majority of people who play golf. I’m currently running a coaching trip abroad and I’m getting my students to look around and comment on what they see others doing and without exception they are all saying that the make the swing look to difficult. At some point golfers will recognise that there is an easier and more efficient way to swing the club. Thank you for highlighting your thoughts 👍💯

I get a lot of negative comments about some of the videos I produce because they challenge the norm. I take most of them on the chin but when people accuse me of profiteering from the content I make then that upsets me. I have literally driven thousands of miles over the years, made and deleted hundreds of hours of content because of outside influences, helped hundreds of thousands of golfers over the years with the information I’ve shared and I’d like to think I’ve done this with the best interests at heart.
I have no issues if you disagree with me but there is no reason to be unkind.
When you put yourself out there you are open to criticism but that’s no reason to be unkind.
I have never written a post like this before but I ask you to be aware of what you write and what you say before you say it.
If you have an issue why not email me or pick up the phone?
    Yours truly, Julian

0:35 Good afternoon Julian. I’m coming to you from Montreal, Canada. I’ve now been following you in your videos and contemplating subscribing to your Proper Golfing web page. After watching many of your videos, I've come to the conclusion that your teaching methodology is the right one for me. I have a rather lengthy question on this video but I’m not sure if I need to be a member first. Again thanks for sharing your expertise in teaching the game.

Actually,Julian’s swing is a carbon copy of the “Easiest Swing” method taught by Brian Sparks. Julian has not only taught Brian’s method over the years but has expanded his instruction to include a variety of videos on many of the issues we as senior golfers face as they enjoy the sport. His instructional videos are a worthwhile watch for beginner to accomplished golfer. I have taken various instructions over the years but once I started using Julian’s / Brian’s method, I have seen an improvement in my game and scores.

Hi Julian excellent video: The perfect basics for beginners and everyone of us who comes spring time might need to review; since as Ben Hogan said the correct set up is 90 percent of the golf swing. Although I am not sure I would show the vertical downswing casting move to beginners or anyone for that matter since the golf swing is actually a looping of the club head at the transitional part of the swing
Once in their golf posture i like to demonstrate and help golfers do a one time clockwise baton trail of the handle which immediately bring of the club head back to their ball. The Twirl Waggle
    Why?
Because in any great golf swing there actually is no backswing and there is no downswing.
For the right handed player The best achieved golf swing is one complete continuous clockwise baton twirl of the handle along with the continuous rotating of the body back and forth to the full completion of the swing.
    Would you agree?
Watch every great golfer and you will see their body rotating from side to side with their hands holding on to their club one hundred percent of the time from the very start of their swing to their finish.
Your la dance routine is also the perfect progressive continuous rotating movement of the body back and forth. However stopping la dance rotation at any time and or loosing the handle at any time; the golfer lost their swing Cheers 👍😃⛳️🥂❤️

    • @JulianMellor
      @JulianMellor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Some great points there Thomas, it’s very easy to compare golf swings with elite golfers but some golfers need to just make contact with the ball and have no understanding of a golf swing. I help a lot of beginner golfers and the easier I can explain things and help them get a simple shape of a swing enables them to enjoy the game and go on to refine their techniques.
Also remember it’s not a vertical swing when the spine angle is introduced. It’s just a concept to help golfers make a simple wrist movement.
      All good stuff though 👍😀💯

Hi there, I followed you in the early days when you were with Brian Sparks and I lost track at you. I enjoy watching your videos very much but I noticed now that you don’t use your left foot as much as you used to or raise. It is something that you’re trying, I kinda like the other way, reminds me of Bobby Jones and Sam Sneed. I apologize for this being so long, but I also have a very bad back and I’m trying to raise my left hand and I always seem to lose my temple. I used to play the convention for years and it hurts my back too much, so I’m trying to swing more like caddies swing they used to Dickie

Hey, my ankle is always mobile which links to the kinetic chain ( joint by joint approach) but I don’t feel the need to lift the ankle, but simply to allow it to move freely and it lifts as much as it needs to lift. The easiest swing method is fantastic but I always felt that the hands, arms and club have an importance and need to be understood

I practice your swing often and it feels so nice and easy - unfortunately - a ball gets in the way and it all goes pear shaped. I’m a 70 year old man returning to golf after many years. Occasionally, I hit some almost perfect shots with both driver and irons and I think I’ve cracked it, sadly, this is more a case of luck or it all coming together properly(no idea why though).
The other day I got on the range and one of the instructors was giving me all kinds of advice that confused me even more…..but my aim is to make things as simple as possible and leave all the complicated stuff to younger, more able golfers.
Whenever I see your videos - I feel deep down that I can do this….but it is the ball striking that I cannot quite conquer using this method.
