My favorite watch moment in film? Michael Douglas in ‘The Game’. He wore a Patek. There was a great scene where he’s trying to get back into the country from Mexico but doesn’t have his passport. The boarder agent says, “Someone with a watch like that doesn’t necessarily have a passport problem”
One of my favorite movies of all time. I remember they filmed a part of it on my block when I was living in the city. I have Criterion Collection on Blu-Ray and there is a fantastic closeup at the beginning of the film and the Patek's case back can be seen with the engraving. Very, very nice.
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Absolutely. That was so weird and scary. Another great scene was in Nicholas' library when then news anchor Daniel Schorr, also creepy and eerie.
@@thehooch-man2657 definitely 👍 I always find scenes like that very effective simple but very effective in the erie department. Like there was a bunch of people and then there just gone
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Totally agree. That movie was quite scary in a very realistic way. The whole time I kept asking, What h*ll is going on? Every time Nicholas thought he knew what was going on, he was wrong. Brilliant.
Coincidentally, I was snacking on some pistachios while watching this most excellent video. Breitling certainly nailed that color, it matches the nuts quite well. I'd like to see Tudor take the green dial from their gold BB58 and put it on a steel 58. I think that would look superb. I like green dials but I want my next watch to be a black dial BB58 as it looks far closer to a vintage Sub than a modern Rolex Sub does (I love four and five digit Subs, but I am not a fan of the maxi case). Keep up the great work, guys - the banter and schtick keeps getting better and better. You have become my favorite channel!
One of my favorite watch movie moments has to be when Val Kilmer's Bruce Wayne answers a video call from Alfred through his JLC Reverso in Batman Forever, just the fun and imagination of it (it's basically an apple watch ahead of it's time) is one of the few things I really like about that movie. Also through the Dark Knight Trilogy Christian Bale also wears a Reverso and seeing as those films are more serious and Christopher Nolan is a watch guy who thinks every tiny detail in his movies, you can argue that a watch with two sides is prefect for a dual character such as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
The cotton candy Oris pieces kind of respond to the siren call set forth by the new Oyster Perpetuals, while offering so much more. The bezel, bronze, and date make them of course completely different, but those dials make it a head-to-head and Oris kinda wins for me.
I would love to see a Black Bay 58 GMT in multiple colors, both the classical pepsi red and blue as well as another variation. I'd also love to see a slightly smaller version of the Pelagos.
Opening scene in the Thomas Crown Affair remake--zooming in on his JLC Reverso (even though they had to remove the name because Brosnan was an Omega spokesperson)
Haha...wow...I grew up at the ponte vedra inn & club...my father actually designed the sweatshirt in this video in the late 70s/early 80s, first sold in the tennis shop at the club (I believe), before becoming the ubiquitous logo for the club writ large...
Sopranos Watch Video - YES PLEASE! Uncle Junior pawns off a Bulova, Tony gifts a Patek, and later on buys Carmela a Baume & Mercier......there's a lot here. Great content guys, I like your lighthearted, fun attitude when it comes to watches.
Really great video I SUBSCRIBED!! Like your style. I have a Tudor S&G Chrono (recently purchased) it is the most comfortable 42MM watch ever. Thinking about moving my Omega planet ocean for a Pelagos love the brand.
I have a Cartier Tank Francaise in two tone and I really like the bracelet. It looks like an actual tank tread which I can only imagine was done purposefully by Cartier. That Oris is amazing too! Great content guys!
Hopefully they’ll chill out with all of the BB color ways and either update the Ranger in a smaller size or make the Pelagos thinner and maybe a tad smaller.
i predict they're going to become more like Rolex and start to rest on their laurels as soon as they can guarantee X amount of sales and prestige for doing the absolute minimum...
Maybe in 15-20 years from now. Tudor might go full luxury. Right now, Tudor is what Rolex use to be in the 60's & 70's... just without the gold/two tone Date Just/Day Date. They still need to bring the rest of their collections up to par with the Black Bay collection.
Maybe ceramic bezel..? Throw a ceramic bezel on the existing color ways and it moves even closer to overthrowing the SMP300. The BB is screaming for a ceramic bezel and a glide-lock style clasp, but there's no way Tudor will implement both anytime soon.
Speaking of green, the Heuer Carrera in green gets no love, but it should. It’s a different shade of green and it looks unique, but I’m glad they zigged instead of zagged.
Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window when he checks the time on his Tissot. Gold plated looks so bad when it starts to turn. Tudor needs to bring back the Prince Big or the Tiger chronographs exactly 💯 like they were. I love the early years Daytona vibes they had. Even though they had a cyclops date 📅 window. With the Panda 🐼 dial beautiful
Oh boy my fav watch moment in film is for sure James Bond turning the bezel on his sub and making it either blow up become a magnet or spawn a grappling hook from the back. Those are my 1st memories of watches outside of the ones on my fathers wrist
I always thought it was interesting how in the sopranos, the two hit men from Naples who were brought in to take out the mayor of munchkintown ended up buying Fossil watches with their blood money.
I will take my Cartier Tank Francaise over this version! Mine is Automatic, not Quartz, and has a Date Window. Stainless Steel and Gold. I think I bought it for USD 2500...
If All Tudor were 58 sized, I would have them all. 58 Chrono, 58 gmt!!!!! 58 Pelagos.. Take all of my money as fast as you can, double retail, don’t care. 39/40mm 11/12mm 20mm.
Tudor should make a full gold BB58 with gold bracelet. Make it another boutique edition, and with a different dial color to differential it from the standard BB58 Gold. Price it on par with a Rolex RG Yachmaster 40 on Oysterflex, and make it rare. That'd become a cult classic watch.
No way Tudor will go on daring colors like the ORIS orange. I think they are over that tackiness, as far as I think they will get is pastels but even that I doubt is in the near future.
Michael is hysterical. Im happy to see their dynamic work out so well.

The Breitling chrono Pistachio is awesome.
Agreed. And the salmon dial version is beautiful too.

Very informative, fun video. You two have great chemistry.
How many different dial / bezel blackbay variations can one buy? Look at second hand marker, full of Tudor BB for sale.

8:55 Breitling MSRP is $8400 - the same as a 2021 Rolex Submariner, showing how unrealistic Rolex MSRP is. Rolex needs to get with the times
Remember when Anna was part of the watch fam? And then Michael just eliminated her.

Bring back the Tudor Prince Date or Date + Day with wild color dials please.
The Tudor Prince Big block and Tiger chronographs we're amazing and resembled the early years of the Rolex Daytona just with a cyclops date 📅 window
Omega makes sooo many variations and permutations. Does anyone know how many 2020 Olympic watches they have issued so far. I have counted 8 so far.
I would like to see more innovation - forward thinking. Both in terms of technology and design.
They already beat Rolex as far as movements. 72 hr power reserve, anti-magnetic hair springs. Tudor did it before Rolex caught up.
