In this week's episode, we explore a 1,200 square feet, five-room BTO flat nestled in the tranquil neighbourhood of Bedok. Kelvin, a registered architect and founder of WarchK Architects, skillfully crafted this home as a haven of serenity and relaxation, perfect for unwinding after a long day at work.
As you step into the foyer, you're greeted by the inviting ambiance of timber wall panels and a lowered false ceiling. This thoughtful transition area welcomes you warmly, preparing you for the calming experience that awaits within.
The living room is a captivating space that showcases a panoramic view of the surroundings. To magnify the sense of openness, the walls are adorned with mirrors, seemingly extending the space into infinity. The strategic placement of low-sitting furniture further accentuates the room's airy feel.
Moving seamlessly from the living area, you'll find the heart of the home - the dining room. Anchored by a 2.8-meter long dining island, this space unites all the different areas. The fluted panels alongside the island add a touch of elegance, concealing the yard with an artistic flourish.
Efficiency and organization are central to the design, evident in the incorporation of storage cabinets throughout the home. The kitchen embodies these principles, featuring a sleek countertop and backsplash finished in the same laminate, creating a harmonious visual appeal. A subtle strip of light under the counter enhances the kitchen's modern allure.
A versatile study room, doubling as a guest room, impresses with its timber portal framing a picturesque view from the dining area. This multifunctional space effortlessly adapts to the homeowners' needs.
Retreating to the bedrooms and bathrooms offers an intimate experience. Each space is accessible through a blackout portal, emphasizing the desire for privacy and tranquility. The master bathroom, boasting large timber-look tiles, emanates warmth and coziness.
Throughout the home, a refined color palette of black, brown, and grey sets the stage for an atmosphere of tranquility and unity. These thoughtful choices create a harmonious and peaceful environment that resonates with the homeowners' senses.
Living in this thoughtfully curated space for over a year, the homeowners find themselves enamored with its enduring charm. The seamless blend of colors and materials has resulted in a timeless design that brings joy and contentment to their daily lives.
Special thanks to Kelvin for showing us around their wonderful home.

This is what I mean. The moment you see this you know it's different, and it stands out. Thanks for featuring more work from architects.
Looks like Bedok South Horizon. Judging from the special paintwork, light design, amount of carpentry, fluted panels, sintered stone custom dining table, Blum hardware, and Steelcase office chair (finally, thank you homeowner for not showing us another bin tier SL gaming chair) we're looking at a $160K - $190K renovation, inclusive of furniture and appliances. Not sure about the choice of drilling a hole in the kitchen top for that phallic hot liquid discharger.
Awesome lighting and interior design, that is how a dark coloured room should be lit.
Great Insights!
Executed perfectly. I love the juxtaposition of wood and concrete, and the curves and corners 😍
Couldn't agree more!
Really well done. It's such a quiet, serene environment. Color choice works well. Great attention to even the smallest of details. Great job!
Couldn't have said it better 😊
Color and choice of materials is excellent. It was also a big bonus to show the floor plan at first, to help get a sense of the space when touring. Well done!
We agree!
I really like all the smooth edges throughout the entire apartment adding extra peaceful sense to it
We agree with you 😊
All the curves edges are amazing! Love the color palette chosen! Sliding door designs really does wonder to make the house look even bigger.
Well said!
"Clean and neat " super like! Extremely tasteful and intentional .. the mood lighting gives it another depth and class. Love all the leather couch and arm/chairs. Very elegant and practical (more covid- friendly than fabric 😊)
Glad you like it!
Man, I would love to stay in this house!😊
We feel the same way!
one of my favorite design so far among all kinds of interior design video I came across. very cosy and a lot of woods and zen kind of feel.
Wow, thank you!
Wow, I like this! 9 of 10. It was very well designed and built!
GORGEOUS space. 💓
Thank you!!
Love the tone and lighting !
We do too!
Beautiful !
It is very beautiful 😊
simply stunning! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Simple, stylish, cozy
Yes it is!
Amazing remodel!
We agree!
Good space planning and good mix of different textures, shade and colours. The colours and materials for the guest bathroom goes very well together, something that you rarely see in homes here. 6Although the false ceiling look nice, it made the already low ceiling lower which affect the overall look and feel of the space. Platform bed is also making the room look compact and claustrophobic. For home with low ceiling, raise flooring or platform only make the ceiling even lower. The plant shelf at the corner next to the window might not be a good idea as plants need sufficient lighting and ventilation to grow well. Treating them like deco wouldn’t keep them happy.
This is beautiful
It truly is.
Mostly architects fails to impress their own space..but seems you like what you have put together which is imp...
Probably one of the best!
Thanks for watching !
Perfection.
Thank you!
meticulous job, beautifull apartment design, good video, like
Beautiful. When you guys have children, hopefully the house will still be so nice.
So true 😊
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
beautiful apartment
We agree!
Bedok South Horizon! Nice house in a nice location ❤
Essentially an essential house
Well said!
Nice!
Thanks!
So dark it could be in a DC movie...
Also that kitchen, no one cooks in that kitchen 100% other than making a porrige/eggs.
well done, if stack can feature some thing similar with children room that will be nice...
Nice house! Nice unblocked view facing of those Kew landed properties. It’s definitely a good location with amenities like the Siglap CC with bowling, futsal court, supermarket and MacDonald. Once MRT station there is ready in 2025, property prices sure doubled easily.
Thanks for sharing! 😊
This is mesmerizing! So beautifully designed! :)
Yes it is 😊
i prefer brighter
how much is the reno? 💕
i am in love with this one
Glad you love it 😊
What is the distance between TV and Sofa?
Like a material sample room..laminate,,flute wall,,porcelain slab..expect more from architect..this easily forgotten in few years later
May I know which area of bedok this is?
I could live happily there….
Totally 😊
I swear I suddenly have an odd craving for sup kambing iykyk
Looks like a bachelor's pad. The cabinets above the sink are too low. He nearly hit his head against the wood.
Also applied with close proximity benefit but unfortunately it’s to no benefit
Must have costs a bomb
Too dark
:o
Most lights have to be turned on in the daytime (I know the video was shot on a cloudy day but still . . . ). Way too dark and too much black, especially the kitchen and guest bathroom. Concealing service yard robs the kitchen of precious light. Can't see if the guest bathroom's shower stall is clean cause it's all black. Poor plants in recessed wall don't have enough light. Air con will be a pain to repair and dismantle.
Thank you for your insights 😊
Wondering how much they hv spend 😅
A round dinner table (10 Pax) typical Family reunion meal for family members will be ideal
Not space efficient in a HDB.
@1:26 the whole space is beautiful except for the exposed track lights. Especially with the mirror reflection, it visually doubles the lines making the ceiling look messy and taking away from the sense of calm. For me, it was a bit of a weird choice, especially next to luxurious timber, fluted walls, casement lights. The sudden industrial treatment looks out of place and jarring.
It’s frustrating to see a design by an architect that obviously rejects natural light…based on the fact that you need to turn on lights to read in bright daytime in the gloomy dinning room…
Doesn’t feel homey too me
Too big perhaps
Thank you for watching 😊
