I've never considered Joe Rogan to be a great comedian although in the past five years he's gotten way better...
However him forcing Carlos Mencia out into the light at allowing other people to speak up the way they did is one of the greatest things that's happened in comedy
His comedy has gotten much better. I think interviewing is his strong suit though. One of the best around IMO. Calls things straight up and he isn't afraid to call guests on bullshit. He's also one of the best when it comes to calling fights. I just like Joe overall.

About 20 years ago I saw Carlos perform at the comedy improv in Miami. I was a huge fan. After the show I approached him and I told him a joke which he really liked. His manager was standing next to him and was cracking up at my joke. This was a saturday show. The following Monday I bumped into a friend and I told him my joke. He told me, “you got that joke from Carlos Mencia”. I was so excited he used my joke the following night.

Carlos admitted to stepping on jokes in his interview with Marc maron. He snubbed tons of comedians which is why he isnt respected by many comedians to begin with.
He never admitted to stealing tho. He said early on he would do other peoples acts but he insists that he never stole jokes i dunno why he just don't apologise and move on
Ultimately it's a matter if Carlos believes he took stuff from other people. I think he absorbed different bits for whatever reason and tweaked them slightly. I do think he made way more enemies than friends. Now he has to live with that reality. His type of comedy is racially charged and full of observational humor. I enjoy his stuff but I don't think society will let him make a grand comeback. I would love for him to make videos publishing his documented records he's kept. Just to see if that is valid. If you guys seen his new interview on valuetainments youtube page he says his rep is tarnished and that's that. No need to try and fix what to him can't be.
