If I was in Rassies shoes ... I'd add all those standby and some unlucky fringe players to the squad, make it about 56 players total. Select the absolute best squad from that for the first test against Ireland, but also select an 'away squad' made up of most of the young future players who've missed out playing in Australia during Super Rugby and those who probably won't make the 2027 RWC because of age. Assuming no major injuries in the 1st ireland test, that squad departs for Aus the day after ... and plays the two Rugby Championship matches against Australia, the one away against Argentina and the bulk in the Portugal test. The 'home squad' with the core of the experienced likely RWC 2027 players stay here for the 2nd Ireland game, the two tests against New Zealand and the home test against Argentina. We might as well use the depth we have at the moment to our advantage. Get the future stars some game time in Aus, avoid the back and forth travel / jet lag pitfalls, bring players like Green into the system and evaluate them in the squad and test match arena

I see many guys asking why Tyrone Green hasn’t been included. There is a strong possibility that he declined inclusion due to his ambition to qualify for England. I don’t know if this is indeed the case - but it’s certainly possible

See the T20 Cricket and you have Aus being booted by Afghanistan, great for sport to bring associate teams into the game. Very strong squad. Only concern would be how many are plying their trade in Japan. I feel like NZ suffered a lot by having their big players playing in Japan after the 2019 WC.
Why ... they're really well paid, they play in super competitive teams, they aren't overplayed and needing their game time managed like many of the URC players, and the Japanese season schedule means that they're available when we need them for early camps and build-up for the international window & Rugby Championship. It's a win-win for SARU ... far better than our players in the GPL or the French league.

Let's face facts. The new faces against Wales didn't perform well except two. There's no space for trials against Ireland, and they have tasted loftus. We can't afford a loss again there even though it was the bulls. We demand the top tier and a win there because Durban will be an equaliser or series win and shutup Ireland go away , we are better. This is not the time to fart about with noobs period. Use Portugal for that. Loose this series and all Ireland's claims remain true.
