All you need to do is to live on the East Coast of Australia (or in South Australia or the north of Northern Territory and Western Australia), and join a wildlife group and go for it. Or just have a holiday at Tolga Bat Hospital in far north Queensland and slave for a few weeks.
Me n my spouse are seriously thinking about getting down there and volunteering for a couple weeks sometime in the next couple years. I know nothing about bat anatomy beyond the basics but I am fully imovaxxed and work in veterinary medicine and volunteer in both domestic and wildlife rescue here.

Thank goodness you have so much experience and he hasn't nailed you God forbid. I'm curious, and Not advocating touching any bats in any shape or form. Would an uninjured bat be just as aggressive?
