Oh bless her sweet lady Bat heart!!🥺😲🩶🦇💕💕 Lovely caring MOP, so great to see humans who really care.💕 I am keeping positive prayers for Miss Wallis, now that she's in your wonderful care, Thank You Meg!🥰
Oh no, she does seem knocked for a loop. At least if there is any hope it is from you. What a lovely MOP. I could tell she cares. Hopefully, more people are understanding the importance of batties. Had a talk about it with my Dad the other day.
You know they're in a bad way if they have fly eggs on them, because they haven't been able to fend off the flies and haven't been able to groom off the eggs
@@MegabattieYes, that always gets to me, but you getting them off her must at least be a relief to Wallis, who isn’t present enough to do it for herself. Those maggots just give me the creeps. At least ours only eat necrotic flesh, they even use them in hospital to clean away dead tissue in cases that merit the treatment on bad wounds. Those little combs are better than the mascara wands.🖤🇨🇦
Sending positive thoughts to Ms Wallis🦇 & crossing my fingers 🤞🤞🤞Kudos to MOP for staying there till you arrived💚……I used to use a small comb to pick up flea eggs on my cats…yuk! Since Ive been in Arizona not one flea…..I think it’s the type of climate here….🌵🌞
I grew up in a high mountain desert. Fleas just didnt exist. Except for in late spring for a couple months there was a million dog ticks and if you went thru the brush you *had* to tick check. Fortunately they dont carry lyme disease (they do carry other diseases tho) Unfortunately they are still grosser than all get out.
❤🎉😮...can't stand fly eggs on the injured Bats, I feel for them when they are so hurt or loopy from hitting their head by flying into something usually man-made. Thankfully those fly eggs were fresh enough that you were able to get them off and out of her beautiful fur before they hatched! ❤
Is it just me but it seems more MOP are stepping up to report bats in trouble. Now the government needs to do more to protect the habitats not just of bats but numerous other native species and biodiversity.
Oh dear, Wallis is not looking very well here, but she is a beautiful bat. What a lovely MOP, to come and stand guard over her til you came. I am always distressed to see maggots on them like this. I thought I saw a couple near her girl bits, and I hope they didn’t get in there. She has taken a serious head hit and looks not really here, but I’ve seen you get some back from this state. I hope she will be one of them, her pre-crash condition didn’t look bad, but it all is going to depend on how she goes after the next 24 to 48 hours. She appeared to accept the second round of glucose readily, and isn’t trying to fight your care very much, but then she is very out of it from her crash. I am wishing sweet wallis a swift recovery if possible, and I’m very glad she is off the road and in your capable hands Meg.✨🖤🇨🇦
She is indeed a beautiful bat; gorgeous colouring. The eggs were in various places, however they hadn't hatched; they only start moving around when they hatch, and burrowing into moist crevices and cavities.
@@Megabattie I am very relieved none had hatched before you got to her. They really creep me out, and that is really good news for her. Now we just need to find no bleeds in her brain and no broken bones. Her colouring is gorgeous, and I hope she turns it around.🖤🇨🇦
Yes occasionally we get a banded bat back in care, but I don't think we've had a chipped bat in care (that we know). I didn't scan Wallis but we did xray her and she doesn't have a chip. The worse injured they are the easier it is to give them the glucose, however usually once they taste it they're all for licking the tube empty
Maybe . . . soundwalls/sound barriers, MAY increase the serenity of residential neighbourhoods . . . but . . . daggummitt(!!!!) . . . they're not only a hazard to wildlife other than just bats . . . they also probably make vehicle wrecks needlessly worse.
I've never rescued a bat there before; it's just mishap. Also, if they didn't have the barriers the cars would go off the edge; it's an overpass and high speed for about a kilometre
How long do flies need to perform a hit & run egg-laying on a bat that's been rendered passive, by a mishap? Perhaps the M'sOP are thankfully increasing who are thankfully aware of various bat difficulties--and it hasn't always been that way. Is there any way that the Local Medias, can help raise awarenesses of M'sOP, of possible bat misadventures as Wallis sustained here, such as PSA's on the telly? That sure was a silly stupid dog!
I think the flies just harass the bat until they stop swatting them away. The local media's repertoire regarding the bats is: bat attack; plague proportions; diseased bat; winged vermin.
Hoping Greatly for Wallis. Thank you for your help to her.....

Wishing you well sweet Wallis. Bless you MOP and Meg for finding her and comforting her. 🦇💗😇
Thank you, Meg, for your educational blog. Amd especially for all you do to care 🤎 Got my fingers, toes, and heart, hoping she survives
OMG! She is beautiful 😍 ❤
bless u for helping 🦇 ur incredible ty luv
So exhausted, so sweet, so helpless….so lucky to be cared for, by you❣️❣️❣️
Poor battie. Thank God she's in good hands that will heal her.
My best wishes for all of you.
Happy Halloween

What a precious little furry angel. Sending her healing energy, light and love . Thank you for saving her .
What a lovely, caring MOP. I wish more people cared as much as she did. Hang in there Wallis, you’re in good hands.
Awww everything is crossed for you sweet girl!!!💞🦇💞🦇💞🦇💞
Oh dear. Wallis is a pretty name. She is getting the love and care she desperately needs. Thanks for caring Meg and to the mop.
Best of luck Wallis, you're un the best possible care. I hope she pulls through ❤❤❤
Meg has got you sweet baby!! What a beautiful MOP! GLUCOSE to the rescue! Praying for her. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
Awww, poor Wallis. Good MOP for staying and protecting her. Thankful she is in an expert caring situation now.
Poor Wallis, she has been through the wars, what a lovely lady to protect her like that until you arrived.
Sending good vibes to sweet Wallace.❤
That little sweetheart is wearing the most beautiful orange/red ruff collar I've ever seen! 😍
It's teh contrast between her light head and her orange ruff which makes it look really gorgeous
That glass sound barrier looks very dangerous for birds as well as batties.
I hope Wallis pulls through. 🤞❤️🦇
I hope she survives... big girl
Another rescue for the books.
Hope she makes it.
Oh my gosh Meg you sure are having a time of it lately aren't you? It must be so hard but thank you for caring for this wonderful beasties! 🇨🇦
Pretty much everything is dying; rescue has been grim, but I've had 3 survivors in the last month which is better than none
@@Megabattie that’s really hard going Meg. Thank you for all you do to save the wonderful batties.
@@Megabattie I had a feeling you were going through a rough patch. Chin up gal, you are doing a wonderful job.
@@THISISBEAR Make that 2 survivors...
@@MegabattieOh, dear.
Even if she doesn't make it, I'm so glad you found her before those eggs hatched. That would have been a beyond terrible way to go.

Hoping there is no brain bleed and that the neurological damage is temporary. Fight Wallis!
Sweet Wallis, what a big, beautiful ruff you have. I hope you'll stay with us.❤

I’m in the southern Arizona area ….. but have lived in the foothills 3500ft in California also no fleas…
Wallis is going to marry a king, like her namesake 😂😂😂❤❤❤

Maggots only eat necrotic ( dead) tissues, so it's good for Wallis to have them cleaning her wounds

A lot more bats are reported than when I first started 17 years ago.

Do you ever get released bats back cause they've hurt themselves? I always wonder when a bat takes the glucose easily if they've been with you before.

Gross fly eggs! Did she have open wounds or do you guys got the type of flies down there that go after living tissue?
We have flies which go after living or dead tissue; it's called myiasis
Gross, and horrifying.
