  • HOW APOSTLE PAUL CHRISTIANIZED THE GENTILE WORLD/
    .
St. Paul was an apostle (though not one of the 12 apostles) who taught the gospel of Christ in the 1st century to most of the gentile world. He is generally considered as one of the most important figures of the early christians. In around 33AD to 50AD he had established several Christian communities mostly in Europe, specially in Turkey, Greece, Malta, Spain, Rome and other places. He took advantage of his status being both a Jew and a Roman Citizen to minister both Jewish and Roman audiences.
    .
We should remember that there was no complete Christian Bible during the time of Christ and the Apostles. In fact, those 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament have been taken from the letters of Paul, which were only considered inspired writings 300 years after his death. St. Paul and his disciples (e.g. Timothy, Luke, Barnabas, etc) have been preaching to the gentile countries without using a Bible, unlike what Protestants are doing today. It's because the Church had already existed before the bible was compiled.
    .
Now we will track those places which were preached by Apostle Paul. We can read in Acts 28:1 that St. Paul had visited the Island country of Malta, which was a former pagan nation. After Paul had preached there, Maltese were gradually converted to Catholicism. Since then, the official religion of the Republic of Malta is Catholicism. And around 94% of the population of Malta are Catholics.
    .
We will track the journey of Apostle Paul to Spain. In Romans 15:24, St. Paul also had went to Spain which was a former pagan country. The nation had also been gradually converted to Catholicism, and was once the official religion of the state. During the Spanish Empire, several Spanish and Portuguese missionaries had sailed off to Asian and American continents, bringing Catholicism to many countries of the world. Thus, It was the Spaniards whose responsible for the christianization of the former pagan countries like Philippines, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, etc. from 15th to 19th century. If not because of them, we might still be a pagan country or we might be a Muslim country today (like our neighbor Malaysia and Indonesia).
    .
Now we will track the journey of Paul to Rome. In Acts 28:14, St. Paul had finally visited Rome (Italy), where he faced his martyrdom (together with St. Peter) under the reign of the pagan Emperor Nero. Rome was known to be a pagan Empire, but had been gradually converted to Christianity after the preachings of Apostles Peter and Paul. Italy is a Catholic country ever since its conversion from paganism.
    .
Because of the order of our Lord Jesus that the Christian Faith would will be brought from Jerusalem to Rome, thus, Apostle Paul brought Christianity to Rome. We can read it in Acts 23:11 that it was Christ himself who gave order to Paul to preach Rome just as how he preached in Jerusalem. Indeed, Paul had wrote a letter to the Romans calling them "Called to be Saints" (Rom.1:7). Also, it is in Rome that Paul was beheaded by the pagan Rome. While, St. Peter was crucified (upside-down) and buried also in Rome. The burial site is located in the church of St. Peter's Basilica, which is now called Vatican City. On the other hand, the City of Jerusalem was also destroyed by the Romans on 70AD. Thus, the headquarter of the Catholic Church was then officially based in Vatican City (Rome).
    .
On the other hand, Jerusalem where the Apostles originated was destroyed by the Romans, headed by Titus on 70AD. They burned every Jewish building including their only Temple was destroyed. Thus, it is one of the reasons on why the headquarters of Catholic Church is in the Vatican, instead of Jerusalem. Though the Catholic Church was founded in Jerusalem, because it was transferred from Jerusalem to Rome before Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans.
    .
Therefore, St. Paul and his disciples had preached the gospel of Christ without using any Bible. Thus, it is a contradicting fact for non-Catholics sects who believed in the "Bible Alone" doctrine. Because the apostles and their disciples did not use bible - the holy scripture of ChrIstians which has Old and New Testaments.
    .
Most of the pagan countries travelled by St. Paul (e.g Malta, Rome, Spain, etc.) became Catholics, not protestants. Thus, the Websters Dictionary had agreed that says "Catholics are the original Christians". Likewise, Comptons Encyclopedia said that "For the first 1,000 years, all Christians belonged to the Catholic Church". Because the early Christians were Catholics. It was only in the 15th century that protestant sects had begun to sprout.
    .
It was the Spanish missionaries whose were responsible for the Christianization of most part of the gentile world, because it was St. Paul who Christianized them. Thus, they have a legitimate connection to the teachings of Christ, because it was Apostle Paul himself who preached them.
