This is an amazing album. Feels like a concept album executed when they were at the top of their game. They worked with Brian Eno (producer) on it. Really pushed them technically. This is the best of the best. Violet Hill is phenomenal
The reason that there are double tracks is because Coldplay has a self-made rule about how many songs they can have on their albums. They get around their own rule by having hidden tracks, which are often their shorter/least developed tracks they made for the album
Death and All His Friends is just perfect. The whole album is amazing
I love the war type of feeing from this album. Also glad that you think Lovers in Japan sounds amazing. That atmospheric sound is Jonny’s guitar. My favorite song from this album is Lost!
The second half of lovers in japan is a hidden track called reign of love, the second half of yes is called chinese sleep chant, and the second half of death and all his friends is the escapist
Wow that’s so cool! I like that concept of having other tracks hidden within another track!
@@KnightReacts yep, just like Life is for Living
I think that Lovers in Japan and Death and all his friends really worked as 2 part songs rather. Yes and Chinese Sleep Chsnt don’t feel like they should be together.
This is one of my favourite albums of all time
Reign of Love is just so hauntingly beautiful in its simplicity, it brings you to tears
You should play the EP associated with this album Prospekt's March… it’s like a whole other album.
Agreed, so many nice songs in that EP, my personal fav is "Glass of water"
This album is amazing, this album by far is my favorite of all time
I love this album, absolutely 10/10
Great video, glad to see another coldplay fan
death and all his friends, strawberry swing, violet hill, lovers in japan, viva la vida!!b every single song in this album is AMAZING I LOVE COLDPLAY
Yes is the greatest song ever made
the reason the beginning of the first song is equal to the end of the last song its because the álbum was supposed to be an infinite loop
Many throughts in this album. The group, after the group wasn't satisfied to ''X&Y'' and the recording sessions was difficult and wasn't a great time for the four members, the group wanted to explored a another direction. First of all, this album was inspired by the latin american tour who the group listen hispanic music. Also, Chris wanted to have a vocal transition, his higher and fasselto voice make a place to used more his lower register. Many throughts:
-''Life a Technicolor'' exist a version with Chris vocals in the EP ''Prospekt's March''
-''Lost'' was recording in a chruch in latin American and Chris used the cathedral organ in this chruch to recording this song. This song explored also chruch and gospel influenced aside to this rock vibe.
-''Lovers in Japan'' and 'Violet Hill'' was the political song that the group writings. Also ''Lovers in Japan'' was the most Coldplay song influnced by the U2 work because of the way who the musical was playing
'-'Viva La Vida'' was the lead of thier later work (like ''Ghost Stories'' and ''A Full of Head of Dreams'') because this song was more pop to the rest of the album and it's was thier biggest hit to date and was labelled has thier signature song worldwide.
-''Strawberry Swing'' was very hispanic and Irish music. A piece of work and one of my favorites songs of the album.
Favorite song: ''Lost'' and ''Stramberry Swings''
Least favorite: ''Chinese Sleep Chant''
Viva la Vida is the fourth best song of all time if you ask me! I don't think this is their best album, but it is my favourite simply because of Viva la Vida. And Coldplay is the best band ever for me,my kings 👌👍
The EP has much more incredible songs to it. Life in technicolor ii is my ultimate fav song from them
The ending of death and all is friends is continuing to there prospekt march ep which you really need to hear
can I recommend you listen to the Propsekt’s March EP? It’s a tag along EP Coldplay made to put the others songs that they’d written in at the same time as this album. The songs are similar to Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends and one of my personal favorite songs of Coldplay is on there so I highly recommend you react to and review it.
This album helped save my life in 2011 when I first heard it. It was unbelievable to me, I never experienced music like I did when I first listened to this album.
Can't wait for you to get to their latest album to hear Coloratura... 10 min song... transcends you... doesn't even feel like 10 min
T…ten minutes? ._.
😉 yes and a fan favourite...
I think they should've put Life in Technicolour II from the EP: Prospekt's March to start this album instead of just the instrumental version. In case you're wondering, the opening track has lyrics in this other version.
VLV might be my favorite era of Coldplay with AROBTTH being a very close second.
Hard disagree. Life in Technicolor begins with the same ambient instrumental that Death and All His Friends ends with. I think it’s essential to the album and LiTII is missing that opening.
You should listen to "Prospekt's March - EP" It's the B-side to the album, and the hidden song "The Escapist" at the end of "Death and All His Friends" Leads into "Life in technicolor ll" which has volcals.
I personally think that Viva La Vida is the best and my personal favourite album from them, it helped me so much through tuff times, but I also think It could also have been better if it was alot more progressive and heavy. But all together it's an amazing album
Long tracks?
Coloratura: Hold my beer
Wait…..ten minutes…..
Loved that you gave yes a diamond. It’s my personal favorite of the album. Overall, I think this album is peak Coldplay. That being said, I don’t think its perfect. Some bad lyrics (cemeteries of London and lost) and some more boring songs (second half of lovers in japan and strawberry swing) prevent this album from being a 10.
My rating: 8.7
These are sick
Cemeteries of London is one of my favourite songs.
Kinda sad you didn’t notice that the album begins and ends with the same ambient instrumental
Half the album is diamonds, that’s crazy, what an album, coldplay are so good
Are you gonna do the prospekts march ep or just go straight on to the 5th album mylo xyloto?
Last night I recorded their 5th album
@@KnightReacts ah ok well you should check prospekts march ep out cause it has a few new songs leftover from the viva album!whilst I'm here you should also listen to the kaleidoscope ep which has new songs leftover from the mylo xyloto album(the 1 you just recorded)I don't want you to miss any songs lol
@@bryangray936 the kaleidoscope ep is left overs from a head full of dreams
For this marathon I will be sticking with just the main albums but later on in the future I will react to the Eps :)
@@jacobwright3744 oops my bad😂👍
yes was divided in 2 songs witch is proprely yes and sleep chinese chant
Release the next one!
Where was Life in Technicolor ii ???
That’s on Prospekts March the EP.
Missing cause the better Life in Technicolor instrumental is there instead
Their best album easily. Definitely goes downhill after this.
Bro’s singing to viva la vida:🤦
