I would have assumed the first software was such... What happens when the drive stops working due to it's pcb, can it be remounted and accessed or will the encryption be different even between different toshiba drives / pcb's?
@@soundknight This is software based encryption. It has nothing to do with the PCB. If PCB gets damaged somehow, it needs to be repaired or replaced with proper firmware fix, just like it would be without encryption.
