I have to admit, my heart jumped this morning when I saw it. I have the Diecast Classic Iron Man and I thought that, at first glance, this one was only a small step down from that one I already have. Ben, I actually said "This or That" this morning! Damn you Ben Thomas, you're in my head now...lol. The diecast one is great. Also limited edition. And a known, in-hand figure. That said, I think I'll keep 'that;'. If I can make room on my PO list I might buy 'this' to display the second mask. Good video, man!
That’s an easy answer. Hono absolutely nailed it. From a visual standpoint. They checked all the boxes. Shelving the 1 concern (seamless body) I have. It looks absolutely fantastic. They captured the Classic look perfectly. It looks flawless. The paint application is beautiful. What a way to pay Homage to the Classic colors while also modernizing it. A perfect blend. The colors still give you that vibe but the metallic just makes it so much more visually pleasing. I love the additional face plates. I like having the flexibility of changing them out periodically. A Nostalgic selection. Hands down, Hono wins here. As for the other question. For me. Hono is the only I would need.
Hono wins, because they colored the chest unibeam like the UNIBEAM, and not the stupid Arc reactor from the movies. Way too many figures based on the comics screw this up, nowadays.
This is a hard question. I love Hot Toys and Hono makes good products at a lower price. I see the regular price of Hono was $160 and this Iron Man is $215. It has crept up but I feel Iron Man products were always priced higher so this doesn’t bother me as long as they don’t raise the price of their regular figures also. If they continue to raise prices then they’ll need another entry level company for 1/6 figures.
I have a feeling the fighting system and such added to the cost. I wouldn't be surprised if most releases from them stay in the 170 range though! Thanks for watching as always bud!
Hono figures have all looked better than their Hot Toys counterparts, the fact that they're cheaper and simpler makes them more streamlined, as opposed to the over designed MCU like designs of Hot Toys.
I tend to agree! The black suit spiderman is still questionable material choice wise but otherwise yes! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
I was planning to get the Hot Toys Shellhead, but now that I've seen this, I'm going to get the Hono. I'll definitely be looking for the Tony Stark head from the HT version when a dealer parts it out.
This Hono figures increase the price every release. Let's see how much Thor cost. My problem with this Iron Man it's that the silicone body can turn dust.
I think we will see standard release still back under 200! But yes let's see how it turns out and longevity of material! Thanks for watching and supporting the show!!
To me this looks like Gene Colan's artwork as stepped off the page, which is enough reason to buy it, I'd say let Hot Toys do movie and tv versions, and Hono do the comic book accurate versions!
I mean faiiiiir, but I still really don't feel 215 is that expensive for this. Now quality in hand remains to be seen. I wouldn't be surprised if their next few releases are back in the 175 range. I think the magnetic lighting is what has inflated this one. It's still cheaper though than most mondo or exo 6 products for something that is pretty freaking sweet hah let's see what happens :)
@@TheBenThomasShow Ben you make great points, I am impressed with the quality on these photos and I hope they make an grey , green, red Hulk down the line
I’m defiantly going for the whole Hono line, I can’t wait to see all the classic looks all lined up
I hope they do a seamless Hulk that would be awesome.

Great comment! Agreed! Thanks for watching and supporting the show!!
hono freakin nailed it
1000% thanks for watching and supporting the channel
This hono is amazing!! Don't collect 1/6 but this one is a maybe 🤔
Great entry price point if you're considering it! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel
Great breakdown. I have to buy both. The classic iron man is my jam.
Heck ya! Thanks for tuning in buddy

Always love these

The only thing I think of when I saw it, how long until the paint starts cracking
Totally agree! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!
I think they are doing a 'GOLD' Colored silicon. Not painting Gold onto a Flesh colored silicon.
@GiftedMonkeyTV it says metallic coat application so I think that means it's paint

Ooo good call!! Thanks for watching and supporting the show!

The Ben Thomas Show, awesome content bro
Aw thanks so much for the kind words and supporting the channel! Appreciated!!
Absolutely gorgeous

Ooo you're right! I had to look it up but I def see it! Great call! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Can't do this or that when one is sold out. Happy to have "that". Cheaper. Plus, don't really need a Tony head sculpt.
True but I wouldn't be surprised if you see them hit secondary market pretty fast when people decide they want the hono instead :)
@@TheBenThomasShowcouldn't agree more!
May see a new EXO-6 figure announced tomorrow or Monday. Cant wait to get your take on it Ben!
No doubt there’s gonna be tons of issues. Everything degrades.
Yaaa I'd be worried about that too@ but it looks good as of now! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!
The figure looks great, the price tag not so much 😂😂lol
I don’t like the PRICE trajectory of HONO, very puzzling 😊

The Hono gives you a better classic Iron Man look, but I'd have serious concerns about the longevity of the painted seemless arms and legs
Yaaaahhh same 😅 but we shall see!! Thanks for watching
Idk yellow parts looks like a rubber ducky
Hah that's kinds true! Wonder how it will be in hand. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Hono Studios is far and away the better of the 2 in terms of visual representation and comic interpretation.
Agreed!! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
As far as comic inspired figures go, I think Mondo has the edge over Hono.
Oo spicy take! What makes you feel that way? Joints break emersion for me so I like seamless hono so far a tad more
Hot toy's is NOT iron man. Hono made the classic iron many perfectly straight out from the silver age comics!
Hard to disagree with that! Well said! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
