According to their site, it's only 9 inches tall. So to the top of that demons wing. Not a fan of the "Beetlejuice ™" at the bottom either. But if you want something inexpensive to keep in the background, it's definitely a good alternative. But I just gotta go with the HT version. It's still under scaled (just like Sideshow's), but taller than 9", and hands down the most movie accurate out of all of 'em.
@Chalor. The HT head stone is definitely superior. I'm planning on covering the bottom text of the spirit one and repainting it. That way it's a little more screen accurate.
I like the HTs version more. Just wish they provided two options. I dont use bases or dioramas, so I just wish they would give us an option without all that, at a lower price. 😒
also in defense to the hot toys sculpt, Michael had prosthetics on his face not just make up to exaggerate some of his features while those were omitted from the new movie (Keaton wanted to look older to match Lydia and Burton rolled with it) and due to copy write the clothing was changed to a degree since they had a new fashion team. (there's documentaries on this). In the end it WILL come to personal preference and taste as well as opinions on the second movie.
I pre-ordered both. I think they're both good looking figures with their own pros and cons... neither one of them have any huge cons from what I can see. I think the likeness in the Sideshow version from the original is pretty spot on, so my plan is to display the HT version with the popping eyes... and I'll have the tombstone that was an obvious miss with the Sideshow version.
I'm glad u said it..I can't find Michael Keaton in the Hot Toys headsculpt.. .I haven't pre-ordered either yet..so I'm going to wait and see how Sideshow's turns out before I pull the trigger
As much as I like the accessories that come with the HT figure, I'd be spending more money for more parts that will inevitably sit in the box unused. The tombstone is the only one I'd get any use out of. As for the likeness, SS has it so far.

You just can't win with these guys. I want the original Beetlejuice but with the suit weathering & green style hair of the HT version. I also want the original tombstone from Sideshow that they released 10 years ago. I don't like the HT Sculpt either. I want a crazy expressive sculpt if they are going to make two sculpts & neither Sideshow or HT gave us one. Frustrating as a fan.
The sideshow version looks like a third party figure. The only thing throwing the HT Sculpt off a little bit is the black circles around the eyes. They don’t peak. But I don’t see a world where the sideshow wins this one.
I think sideshow with re worked hair. Greased the heck up and reduced volume could still look like a great figure! Hoping so. I preordered and paid for the Sideshow 2.0 Beetlejuice and waiting on that final shipping/taxes invoice, but I am somewhat interested in the Hot Toys figure. I saw the movie and enjoyed it, so we will see. That price is indeed high and what’s keeping me away! I really want the tombstone and hear the 9” Spirit Halloween tombstone scales well. I’ll be on the hunt so I can display it with my Sideshow figure.
As much as I love Beetlejuice, the HT version didn’t “wow” me. I’ll stick with the Sideshow 2.0 that comes out next month. Way better likeness and know the final production will not fail, The Dude is still one of my favorites from my collection.
I think the main reason why hot toys never did the original Beetlejuice because people weren't so headstrong for it like they are right now which is why I believe because of the movie they made the decision to take that on but knowing that last year Sideshow created the first one and didn't have much accessories they knew with the second one they were going to go all out and they did now with that being said $330 to me is a little bit reasonable it's $50 more to the one that Sideshow is producing because this one comes with two head sculpts a lot more accessories And what puts it over the top is that gargoyle Tombstone base to be honest I thought it would have been an artisan and we should be lucky it's not an exclusive with that said I will be picking it up
For me it only feels reasonable because I also think the sideshow one is over priced. The variance in price doesn't feel as broad! But I'm glad you're feeling the value for what we are seeing!
ok, there is a video posted by another channel that lets you see the beetlejuice 2 figure better. The hot toys figure looks way better in "person" than in the promotional photos, BUT I do prefer the sideshow version cause I loved beetlejuices look in the original film. I AM preordering both since where one lacks, the other delivers, so I will be dividing the accessories between them. As for the price, honestly its not as ridiculous as Ben is putting it. I am a professional artist, I can say the material cost has gotten ridiculous, worldwide. Naturally companies will bump up pricing to keep their profit percentage. John wick was more and he too was just a guy in a suit, with a lot of guns lol.
Sideshow version needs a lot of work Weathering,Paint and redo the hair im not sure if this worths 300 and that without 2 nd HS or more extras like the HT Version
I had the Sideshow on pre-order. I cancelled it because I couldn’t get over the fact that he looks like Nick Kroll. Look up Nick Kroll pics and tell me he doesn’t look like him. Hot Toys for me.
The sideshow looks better to me, I'm fine with that. I don't need the hot toys one. I also bought a part offline for 20 bucks ( the tombstone from beetlejuice) so easy pass for me ( I also got my sideshow one with 20 dollars off) and the bodies are fine with sideshow now, i have like 5 from them and 3 on preorder and they keep getting better . That's just me tho

Sideshow figures do seem to stick around a bit longer! Hopefully that will help you see final! Great restraint! If you don't fall in love it will save cash and space for something else that hits that nostalgic punch
Considering this is supposed to not be just a standalone and they're supposedly making more from the movie this may not be the only Beetlejuice if when you see the film there are different versions of him and we might get some other characters because they do have the head sculpt of William Dafoe so his character might be in sixth scale and I'm hoping for Jenna Ortegas character cuz if they do that we may get an exclusive or reveal during Spooktacular at sideshow are there Wednesday figure whether it is from hot toys or Sideshow I'm hoping
Pre-ordered the sideshow version a couple of months ago. Like the sideshow sculpt better. Hot toys sculpt looks off (like the indiana jones hot toys/10 percent off model) As long as the sideshow one matches the pics, I'm good. And as far as tombstones go for 1/6, spirit halloween has some you can buy. Not as detailed as Hot toys but on a pinch, it passes.
Its also just hard for me to see an aged version of my favorite heroes or villians. Keaton is looking a bit like a grandma in drag atm 😅 thanks for watching and supporting the show!
I don't know man. I have the Sideshow Beetlejuice on order...and I like the HT one more. I think it's an objectively better figure and I do think the likeness is better on the HT. I love that it has the tombstone. I just don't like Old Man Beetlejuice though. I prefer the first movie version of the character, aesthetically. I think I want the HT. But also...I don't know that I want to buy it. I may just cancel my SS Beetlejuice and not get either...that's so weird to say...

Might be the first time Sideshow actually beat hot toys in the likeness of Michael Keaton as the character even though both toys are excellently sculpted the likeness of Michael Keaton is undoubtedly going to Sideshow for the wind in this particular example, also hot toys sculpted the Michael Keaton from Batman likeness a little bit off as well
I'm not picking this or the sideshow one up. I love the first movie. But I'm not such a fan that I need a figure. If I was going to get this figure, I think I would choose the sideshow one over the hot toys one because I agree that the likeness of the sideshow one is better
Never seen a SS figure in person but I’ve heard they fail in production far more than they hit. Hot Toys is definitely more trustworthy. Price is definitely license related imo. I’ll stick with neca.
I don’t know about all that. HT has been dropping the ball with their final production lately. SS has delivered with their last couple of releases. The Dude is one of my favorites in the collection.
Sideshow has definitely had some lack luster offerings in the past, but newer figures I've had from them like the crow or the dude were awesome! So I'm stoked for the side show one. Necca is awesome though. I love my 90s movie turtles from them! Amazing detail! Thanks for watching!
Sideshow for sure. The HT looks too sultry, like it wants a kiss, plus his lower abdomen area appears to be poofed up a bit much, but not in a natural fit sorta way. Also prefer the old combat boots that Sideshow uses.
Was ready to buy the Hot Toys, but that smiling head sculpt just saved me $383 after tax/shipping. Not worth it. The sideshow sculpt looks better, but the hair on both of these is just not working for me.
The tough part about the buldgy eye sculpt is that it reminds me more of the animated show or like who killed rogdger rabbit vibes lol but if I see the film and love it, it might also sway me! Sticking with the sideshow one for now! Thanks for watching and supporting the show!

The paint apps and weatheirng look much better on the HTs, but I dont really like the expression either. Likeness is subjective and I can see Keaton in both, Ig i will have to watch the latest movie to truly see how good this HTs one is. But its definitely overpriced.
This or That..or Neither. I loved the original movie and this character. Not giving into my FOMO this time though. Don't think HT nailed it here and the price - $HKD2080, plus, plus - I think will be too high for me. Too many other figs competing for my money. This fig, and SS one, look like fun and will undoubtedly look great in someone's collection...just not mine I'm afraid.
Sideshow has a great likeness and general look. But the hair is way too floofy (although adequately wild) and too pale (not too dificult of a fix, some green powders, hairspray and water and its fixed) Hot Toys has way better accessories...but the headsculpts are legitimarely terrible imo. They look nothing like beetlejuice from the first film OR the second film..and while the hair material is higher quality, It's styled horribly. Just dumped some wool on his head and called it a day. Sadly to get the best of both worlds you're likely gonna have to buy both or go parts shopping on ebay. I think i'd mostly he happy with the sideshow figure if i can find the hot toys headstone. But lets be real. For the cost of these things now we really shouldn't have to be accepting compromises. These things should be perfect out of the box from both companies.

If you want to pay more, feel free! But I'll continue to advocate against continually price hiking. People spend more money to go see a 2 hour concert or their favorite sports event. $330 is pretty minimal for what will provide a lifetime of entertainment.

If you want to get a Beetlejuice headstone for your sideshow figure, Spirit halloween has has one that's almost the perfect size for a 1/6 figure.

Hot toys is wicked, but that price point kicked me off it. Went ahead and got neither- ordered the mezco 1:12 with light up accessories for $150ish

Might be the first time Sideshow actually beat hot toys in the likeness of Michael Keaton as the character even though both toys are excellently sculpted the likeness of Michael Keaton is undoubtedly going to Sideshow for the wind in this particular example, also hot toys sculpted the Michael Keaton from Batman likeness a little bit off as well

I'm not picking this or the sideshow one up. I love the first movie. But I'm not such a fan that I need a figure. If I was going to get this figure, I think I would choose the sideshow one over the hot toys one because I agree that the likeness of the sideshow one is better

Never seen a SS figure in person but I’ve heard they fail in production far more than they hit. Hot Toys is definitely more trustworthy. Price is definitely license related imo. I’ll stick with neca.
I don’t know about all that. HT has been dropping the ball with their final production lately. SS has delivered with their last couple of releases. The Dude is one of my favorites in the collection.
Sideshow has definitely had some lack luster offerings in the past, but newer figures I've had from them like the crow or the dude were awesome! So I'm stoked for the side show one. Necca is awesome though. I love my 90s movie turtles from them! Amazing detail! Thanks for watching!

Sideshow for sure. The HT looks too sultry, like it wants a kiss, plus his lower abdomen area appears to be poofed up a bit much, but not in a natural fit sorta way. Also prefer the old combat boots that Sideshow uses.

Was ready to buy the Hot Toys, but that smiling head sculpt just saved me $383 after tax/shipping. Not worth it.
The sideshow sculpt looks better, but the hair on both of these is just not working for me.
The tough part about the buldgy eye sculpt is that it reminds me more of the animated show or like who killed rogdger rabbit vibes lol but if I see the film and love it, it might also sway me! Sticking with the sideshow one for now! Thanks for watching and supporting the show!

The paint apps and weatheirng look much better on the HTs, but I dont really like the expression either. Likeness is subjective and I can see Keaton in both, Ig i will have to watch the latest movie to truly see how good this HTs one is. But its definitely overpriced.

This or That..or Neither. I loved the original movie and this character. Not giving into my FOMO this time though. Don't think HT nailed it here and the price - $HKD2080, plus, plus - I think will be too high for me. Too many other figs competing for my money. This fig, and SS one, look like fun and will undoubtedly look great in someone's collection...just not mine I'm afraid.

Sideshow has a great likeness and general look. But the hair is way too floofy (although adequately wild) and too pale (not too dificult of a fix, some green powders, hairspray and water and its fixed)
Hot Toys has way better accessories...but the headsculpts are legitimarely terrible imo. They look nothing like beetlejuice from the first film OR the second film..and while the hair material is higher quality, It's styled horribly. Just dumped some wool on his head and called it a day.
Sadly to get the best of both worlds you're likely gonna have to buy both or go parts shopping on ebay.
I think i'd mostly he happy with the sideshow figure if i can find the hot toys headstone.
But lets be real. For the cost of these things now we really shouldn't have to be accepting compromises. These things should be perfect out of the box from both companies.

Oo spicy comment. Love to see it. Ive been in this hobby for 14 years and still going strong. If you're willing to just give companies a pass to over charge, they will never stop inflating prices. If you want to pay more, feel free! But I'll continue to advocate against continually price hiking. Sideshow it also too expensive in my opinion as I stated, but he looks more like the character from their representation in my minds eye. Now Micheal Keaton is starting to look like a grandma in drag, so if that's the version you want, also a great choice for you! Thanks for watching and supporting the show!
@@TheBenThomasShow Totally get your point but been playing in this game since 2008 and prices have gone up but not enough to say they are getting too expensive. People spend more money to go see a 2 hour concert or their favorite sports event. $330 is pretty minimal for what will provide a lifetime of entertainment.
