Before I started following you, I never would have guessed how vibrant the wildlife is in your area, particularly underwater. I like your explanation about how circle hooks work, too. Almost wish to have the fish headed away from you when that line tightens and pulls the point into the corner of the mouth. As you would say, another cracking video (too bad crack means something else in America😒).
- Haha. Crack here when it’s the good meaning is often spelled Craic. 😉 As is “You know that Corbfisher guy?” “Yeah, he’s good craic 👍🏻” haha. Circles are great if you can fish them properly - exactly as you describe; with the fish heading away from you. 😊👍🏻
Hi there, Just discovered your channel the other day and loving the content. I moved to Australia 7 years ago and it's great to be reminded of the fishing back in the UK. Keep up the good work 👍

What a fantastic brilliant video John, thankyou so much for sharing it with us.....maybe now l can get some work done lol 😁😀😄as l was watching this video a message came through and it was my friend in Ireland saying thankyou so much for forwarding me the fish lockers channel and how hooked she was saying it's the best fishing channel ever, and indeed it is 🌟🌟🌟Sham James wasn't there to see the dolphins. All the very best 🌱 🌱 🌱

Thank you so so much for showing the dropping reactions when you got a bass spiking it happens and People need to see the natural reactions of it when it happens Love the channel now playing catch up with all my fishing favourite channels after a long term illness Took me out but not down learning lots even after 15 year as a basic Cast and wait keep it simple Person but following you all.has produced me my first personal best this year of a nice bull Huss That took two of my mate to lift over our prom thanks again and all the best
Cary Pearson - This video I feel fully encapsulates what it is like and why I love this type of fishing. Up early, beautiful scenery and wildlife, adapting to the every changing conditions and some brilliant fish thrown in for good measure. I love it and am so glad I could share it with everyone. 😊🎣💙
Watching this on TH-cam while simultaneously watching the perilously stupid impeachment hearing sham on Fox. I must balance my day; if bad appears, then bless my day with good. And your videos are very, very good!
- Well thank you very much Christos, I am glad you enjoyed the video. I must admit I haven't heard much about the impeachment. Though I get the gist of it.
Thanks John, yet another fantastic video and boy what a session!. Some beautiful specimens and I felt it when you got spiked by the bass!! Those spikes are vicious!! Like your hint to Hannah, you need a new rod because the old one is now broken! Have a Happy Christmas, love and best wishes to Hannah and young James. All the very best buddy! Graham

stan wilson - Thank you very much Stan. I am really glad to hear that you enjoyed the video and found it informative. Good luck and tight lines mate. 😉🎣👍🏻
Silly question. Have you ever kept a fish fish for the table out of spite when you've been spiked or the fish has just wound you up? I love the fact you only keep what you need and return the better fish. All the best to all the fishlocker family. A fantastic channel.
I know he takes fish but he does it with conservation in mind. Like the question said it was just a sill question. You know you tread on somthing and hurt your foot and they act like it was that objects fault. Door closes on you and you kick the door, that sort of thing. Fish sticks woth its gill plate or spines you to you eat it. Not rational but very human.
@@TheFishLockerThere was no judgment intended. Apologies of I caused offence. Was just a silly question as although I wouldn't do it I'd probably be tempted lol.
Luke Wilde - Haha. There was no offence taken. I was just saying that the fish has no malice if it does hurt you. It is simply trying to defend itself. So I don’t hold it against it.
Mate, firstly, your channel is brilliant and so glad I came across it. Moved to the UK from US several years back and rarely fish here - only abroad. Not a course fisherman and prefer active fishing with lures and baits. Will begin fishing off Kent coast near me. I'll definitely be catching to eat as it makes me feel better than supporting overfishing and the big factory ships. Haven't seen yet as only started your videos but where in the country do you head out from? Also, any groups, sites or other channels you recommend someone checking out? Keep it up!

You have some great comments there John as always keep up the good work. I still cannot get my boat out the weather here in the south west of Ireland has been very bad still there's always next year to look forward to, all the best Rob.
- We have considered it mate, seriously. We are going to be working with a really good charter boat in Falmouth this year to see how it fits. There will be lots of new vids and content going up on our sister channel "The Fish Locker Workshop" also. ;)
Charter yes please, i normally go out from Newquay, which i would still, but i live in newquay and cover falmouth in my job, met a lady with a stunning lampshade with ornaments...... Whats that got to do with fishing.... She hung mackerel spinners all around (12). .. Stunning designs, i told her i want to fish with them 😂
- Haha. You'll need to go some way to sink an Orkney. Fantastic boats and great fishing platforms. I'm glad you enjoyed the video Mike and tight lines. :D
Excellent videos, really enjoying them. Can you spend a little bit of time showing us what you are seeing on your electronics and how you interpret what you see? Also why you release some fish? Those bass look like good eating!
- Hi Jason, we have a specific video showing how I use the electronics and what the things mean. I will post the link below. As for returning the bass. They get enough pressure form commercial anglers without me adding to it. If one is deep hooked and won't survive I will take it for the table. th-cam.com/video/qkQna446WwA/w-d-xo.html
@@TheFishLocker thanks John, I watched the link and found it informative. I'm in lock down in Cayman (could be worse I know) going to buy gear tomorrow. Not sure if your methods will translate, but here goes nothing!
Excellent angling 👍 I’m surprised you put all the bass back ; they all looked oversized and I think it’s one of the best to eat. I know some people don’t rate it but I don’t like pollack - it’s personal taste I guess. I’ve never tried Ling but you’ve made me curious saying it’s delicious.
- All of the fish bar one bass were above minimum size to take but I like to return as many as possible. And I never keep a bass if I can help it. They receive enough pressure from the commercial boys without me adding to it. However delicious they may be :P
The Fish Locker ; that’s an admirable stance and respect to you for that 👍 I think I would have taken one for the table as I’ve tried pollack and it’s not to my taste. I’d like to try ling now tho.
Rod & Pollocks Fishing - Thanks mate. It’s been a hell of a lot of work and a real team effort. Not just in making the videos but small stuff like my good wife having the kids on her own whilst I’m out fishing. Or the days when I’m knackered because I’ve been out late filming. And the community for me is the best part. Hopefully we have shown folks how it should be. Simple, honest and sharing information. No ego, no agenda. Just fishing. Fingers crossed 2020 will be full of fish for all of us!! 😆👍🏻🎣🐟
Just found this channel and it brought me back to my childhood when we used to fish every week... now I haven’t been fishing for many years. Will need to start again. Great channel!
Thank you very much Daniel. That is exactly what I do. Simple and honest. It might not have all the whooping and high fiving that other channels do but I do my own thing. 😊
@@TheFishLocker I thibk it was Eddie Edwards recently when he did a catch & cook (I might be wrong!) said about using a mix of Mayonnaise & water before breadcrumbs instead of beaten egg! Sounds good but I've yet to try it! 👍👍
- Thank you John. I always find it really interesting learning about the fishing in different places. Your Kahawai sound like lots of fun to catch!! :D
RHINO 54 - That is fantastic to hear. As it is Christmas we thought we would give you guys a longer video this week. I am glad you found it good viewing. 😊👍🏻🎣🐟💙
Jarred Hudd - Hi Jarred, firstly thank you very much. I am glad you enjoy the videos. I have considered doing trips but I would have to get my boat coded and all the courses and insurance would mean I would have to charge a LOT per angler to make it worth while - or get a bigger boat, which again is the investment and would mean I’m not doing small boat stuff any more. 🤷🏻♂️🎣🐟
The skerries pear are still doing the business then! Beautiful bass, nice pollock and awesome ling mate really enjoyed this one, let’s hope we get a nice long spell of dry windless weather!
What a cracking day again John , you really know your fishery and it shows big time ,you have earnt every fish you catch well done son . Regards from Gummy .

Your water craft is spot on hitting the target species and sharing your rigs and tactics with us lucky viewers. 😊 Amazing fish caught and bonus dolphins 🎣🐟🐬🐟😊. Ps I'd love to hear you say 'Porpoise' in your fine NE accent lol. I didn't say Geordie as I'm a southerner and I didn't want to offend you if you were a 'Mackem' 👍😁. Both first class AMBASSADORS to your chosen disciplines. 😂😊😂.
Another cracking video John. Thanks for keeping us so informed throughout the year. A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous 2020 to you and your family. cheers Milo
Hi John, one of your best all round videos yet. The start of the video was class in my opinion, the dark land in the background, surrounded by a pre sunrise sky in the background and a shadowy figure in the foreground, class 👍. Really captures the essence of a days fishing full of expectations. Looks like that morning turned into a great day out in the boat. Great footage of the dolphin pod too. Great work bud 👍
gary lawlor - Thank you very much Gary. I am happy with this one. It’s always a real worry that the footage will be ok. I’ve come in from some great sessions and had to bin the whole lot it’s so frustrating. It was my hope that the video would encapsulate the whole experience of a mixed days fishing. I just love it. 🐟🎣😊
@@TheFishLocker I can imagine the worry, it must be a terrible feeling to not have captured a great fish or something interesting that you might see on a day out. This year I had an unusual but funny encounter where a huge seal stole a 5Lbs pollock mid water, ended up with him taking a load of line of my reel, then surfacing a 100 meters from the boat, biting off the fish, leaving me with a head. The split second the seal parted the fish a bid GBB gull, trying to get the pollock head wrapped up in my line 😂 was very funny. Would loved to have captured that on camera, but did not. Both seal and gull where fine. The gull made a great photo with my Da. Now his F.B Profile picture 😂
gary lawlor - I have seen seals that look like punk rockers they have so many hooks and lures in their faces. They are a pest!! Does sound like a funny happening. Those black backs are pretty big up close aren’t they!! 😆
Quality Sesh Yet again ... The footage of the Dolphins was Top Drawer, well played ,Great Capture . At the 30min mark you seemed to get hit by a wake from a passing vessel . Quality caught Fish . When you caught the Mackerel , It reminded me of something i was told by my Grandad when i was younger ,, when fished in Scapa flow , that you could throw down a line with hooks and still catch them . I clocked the Merlin at the back of you coming over the Horizon at the end of the video .
colintraveller - Yes mate when the mackerel are shoaled up and on the feed you can catch them on bare hooks. I even saw 2 in a row caught on an open swivel one time!! It was a choppy day but yes at a few points we did get the odd bit of wash. The local base isn’t far and they’re often out in the bay practicing. 😉👍🏻🎣🐟
Thanks again John for another great fishing adventure, if it was that cold out on the water you should have been wearing a hat!!. It almost seemed you had sixth sense which side of the boat to cast out from for the next fish, top fishing by a top bloke!!!. Congrats a big thumbs up.
what a cracking trip out..quality inshore fishing followed up with a great bit of wrecking (never caught a ling),i bet that hand will hurt for a day or two!..definatly going to do some light fishing for the bass this way next spring.enjoyed that film mate, nice one.
dave oldman - Thanks Dave, aye it was a cracking session. Nice mix of light inshore and wrecking. If you’re ever down this way it’s a great spot to get you a decent ling. 😉🎣👍🏻
John you are so kind to share what you know. Yes it was amazing . i feel so relaxed. I enjoyed it maybe the third time around viewing this video. Thanks. And yes Im delighted to share.
- I hope that by giving such raw and uncensored access to everything, all of the information and knowledge that it will encourage others to share as well. After all, the best knowledge is knowledge that is shared 😊
Excellent video on how to take advantage of prevailing conditions. Don't fight the elements use them to your advantage, the secret for success. Your boat management to maximise productive bait presentation was particularly interesting. Well done i rate your channel highly, keep up the good work.
- Thank you very much mate. You have absolutely picked up on what I was going for with this video. You can't fight it. Assess, adapt and overcome!! Use what you have to the best of your abilities and a dash of luck thrown in for good measure. ;) Really glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you and your family have a great Christmas. :)
Really enjoyed the longer format, even got the popcorn out. You have some amazing fishing down there, and your knowledge is unreal. Always learn a thing or two from your vids. Thanks mate. 👍🏻🐟
- Thank you very much mate, we were experimenting with the longer format than our usual 20-30 mins. Most of it as you know yourself is watercraft and knowing the behaviour of your target species and adapting to the conditions. Im hoping to sit down and watch your other shore vid either tonight or tomorrow. Ive thought about a drone a few times but for the extra hassle I don't know if it would add enough to the video for the extra effort - and folks would be getting pissed off Id given the marks away. So you can't win really. All the best mate. :)
Yet another great vid John... never fail to impress. Very inspiring. Total respect for your catch and release mind set. Only keep for the table. Thankyou. Have a great Christmas.

- Thank you very much Andy and welcome to our channel. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I absolutely love my fishing - as you can maybe tell. All the best and I hope you enjoy working your way through the rest of our content. :)
Superb fishing video enjoyed watching on a cold wet December day
- Thank you very much I am glad you enjoyed it. All the best and have a great Christmas. :)
Best days fishing I've had in years and never even got my feet wet John..brilliant hour in the boat with you..
Stephen Brammall - Thanks Stephen, I was a little unsure about putting up the longer video but as long as folks enjoyed it. 😊👍🏻🎣
Absolutely love these long videos. Great days fishing :)
Lorraine's Adventures - Thank you. I’m always a little apprehensive about anything over 20-30 mins as I don’t want folks to get bored. 😉👍🏻🎣
Hi there, Just discovered your channel the other day and loving the content. I moved to Australia 7 years ago and it's great to be reminded of the fishing back in the UK. Keep up the good work 👍
- Thank you very much and welcome to our channel David. The fishing down your way is insane, I think it would be hard to say that you miss it here when you have such incredible fishing there.
@@TheFishLocker I only started fishing again last year but loving it. Mostly land based saltwater. Here's a link to my Facebook page where you can see some of the fish I've caught including an absolutely gorgeous gurnard. facebook.com/Davids-Australian-fishing-adventures-105789870827818/
great day of fishing..:) those dolfins never get boring..:D awesome to see you put those awesome bass and pollocks back..;)
Absolutely Martin, I could watch them all day 👍 glad you enjoyed it
What a fantastic brilliant video John, thankyou so much for sharing it with us.....maybe now l can get some work done lol 😁😀😄as l was watching this video a message came through and it was my friend in Ireland saying thankyou so much for forwarding me the fish lockers channel and how hooked she was saying it's the best fishing channel ever, and indeed it is 🌟🌟🌟Sham James wasn't there to see the dolphins. All the very best 🌱 🌱 🌱
Joyce Hennequin - Thank you so much. And thank you for recommending the channel to your friends. 😊 It was difficult conditions but managed to find a few nice fish and it was a real pleasure with the dolphins. I am so pleased that the video came out ok and we can share it with you all. 😊👍🏻🎣🐟
Fantastic, I am really happy you put back what you don't need, people tend to slaughter everything - well done
- I know what you mean Dave and it really upset me. I hope that a few more anglers may follow our example after watching these videos. :D
I was heaving at the end John, haven't got your sea legs for sure. Thanks for the great vid.
Mike Rom - Haha. I’m glad I planned it like I did mate. It was getting a bit choppy by the end of it wasn’t it. 😆🎣
TOP MAN , fantastic stuff pleasure to watch him operate
- Thank you Robert. This was one of my favourite videos to make. 😊🎣🐟
I love listening to you explain what you are doing. You are awesome! Nice first catch!
Queen A.K.A. Misty YVETTE - I am glad you find it interesting. I had some great fish throughout the day. 😊🎣👍🏻
you teach me alot of things in fishing keep up the amazing work
Thank you. I am glad that you find the videos helpful Andreas.
Well done john. Cracking bass, pollack and ling.
Neil Smith - Cheers Neil. Was a fine session wasn’t it. Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊👍🏻🐟
Great vid as always. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas 🎄
- Thank you very much my friend. All the very best to you and your family. :)
Thank You, Mr. Fish Locker! Most beautiful fishing TH-cam ever!
Jim Crepeau - 💙 Thank you Jim, it was my pleasure to share this with you all. 👍🏻🎣
Thank you so so much for showing the dropping reactions when you got a bass spiking it happens and
People need to see the natural reactions of it when it happens
Love the channel now playing catch up with all my fishing favourite channels after a long term illness
Took me out but not down learning lots even after 15 year as a basic
Cast and wait keep it simple
Person but following you all.has produced me my first personal best this year of a nice bull Huss
That took two of my mate to lift over our prom thanks again and all the best
- People have questioned why I leave things like that in the videos. I think it shows that the videos are honest. 😊 Take care and tight lines mate.
P
Doesn’t get any better than that! Wonderful video, highly enjoyable to watch, beautiful fish, beautiful scenery and dolphins 👍🏻
Graham
Graham Allen - Thanks Graham. Aye it was a fine session but I was knackered by the end of it. My good lady has already treated me to a new setup that will get put through its paces in the new year. 😊🎣💙
The Fish Locker nice John. Looking forward to seeing you put it through its paces .🎣🐟🎣🐟💜
Mate, i dont even fish but i just spent an hour watching your video, if you ever States side, I'll gladly treat you to a Texas wild bore hunting ;-), keep the good work up and stay safe.
- Fred that would be amazing. I used to work with a guy from Louisiana and that was all he used to talk about. It looks like a blast!! Take care sir and have a great day. :)
@@TheFishLocker It would be an absolute pleasure, I was a contractor with the Royal Marines in Basrah, Iraq during Optelec and i want to thank you for your service, i noticed your army gear is now your fishing gear ;-)
Great video I didn't know that Ling could not be returned and were delicious to eat always learn from your videos thank you cheers Al
Alan Woolley - Thanks Alan, ling do suffer badly with barotrauma. When fishing in shallow water and when bringing them up slowly they can sometimes go back but as I say they are delicious. Here is a vid on one of the ways we like to cook them. 😉👍🏻🍽 th-cam.com/video/Ofj6o7YohNU/w-d-xo.html
John. Do you know how much i cringe. When you throw them big bass back. They are one of the seas finest gifts..looks nice out today my friend. Stay safe
- They are wonderful eating fish but also those are prime breeding fish - and at certain times of year there are bass bans.
@@TheFishLocker as usual your full of logic. Good point my mate
Another great video i do like the longer vids more info and get to eat dinner while watching
Nickmo2UK - My pleasure mate, some folks ( myself included ) don’t have the time to watch more than a 20-30 min vid in one go. Unless the kids are in bed. 😊🎣👍🏻
I havent fished since 2011 with my father before I joined the military.
Why tf am I watching this man fish on christmas morning in 2019 xD
- Haha. Because once you've been a fisherman - its in your blood!! Were you in the mob? Im ex RN myself.
Hi John,I wish the fishing was as good around north Wales. After watching you,if there are any about,I reckon I have more chance of catching them.
To come down there it's a 300/400 mile trip from Manchester,I need to travel 75 miles to get to Rhyl as it is.
Your vids make my day, keep 'em coming.
stan wilson - Thank you very much Stan.
- An animal that hurts you in self defence is purely defending itself. It doesn't know spite or malice. So I don't judge them based on our standards.
Another great vid John! What a great days fishing. Those bass were something you dream about keep it up👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Paul whitemore - Thanks Paul, I’m just lucky mate. 😉
Keep it up!
- Hi there and welcome to our channel. We film most of our videos around the Cornish and Devon Coastlines. There are a few channels to check out. I'll post you some links:

@@TheFishLocker thank you! About 29 of your videos deep now
Ba jacobs - Between the 2 channels I think we have around 190-200 videos.
You have some great comments there John as always keep up the good work. I still cannot get my boat out the weather here in the south west of Ireland has been very bad still there's always next year to look forward to, all the best Rob.
robert elson - Aye mate, mines out of the water now. The weathers the one thing we can’t do much about. 🤷🏻♂️🎣
You need to start 'Fish locker charters' john. You would be booked up no problem..
- We have considered it mate, seriously. We are going to be working with a really good charter boat in Falmouth this year to see how it fits. There will be lots of new vids and content going up on our sister channel "The Fish Locker Workshop" also. ;)
@@TheFishLocker Nice one. Ill be booking up as soon as your sorted.. Subscribed to the new channel. 🎣👍🏻
Charter yes please, i normally go out from Newquay, which i would still, but i live in newquay and cover falmouth in my job, met a lady with a stunning lampshade with ornaments...... Whats that got to do with fishing.... She hung mackerel spinners all around (12). .. Stunning designs, i told her i want to fish with them 😂
Nice to see that bass go back.
- You will see from our videos that I put all of my bass back. They receive enough pressure from the commercial fishermen without me adding to it. :)
How you didn't capsize in that thing I don't know. At one point I thought I mite have been seasick. :) .. Really enjoyable vid, made me smile. Thanks.
- Haha. You'll need to go some way to sink an Orkney. Fantastic boats and great fishing platforms. I'm glad you enjoyed the video Mike and tight lines. :D
@@TheFishLocker tight lines indeed. :)
@@TheFishLocker Sorry for the dumb question, are you the Orkney or the boat that you are on?
Myoung Kang - Haha. Orkney is a style of boat hull.
Brilliant video as always John, love the channel so glad i came across it a couple months back.
Alan Elder - Thanks Alan. Glad you’re enjoying the content mate. 🎣👍🏻

@@TheFishLocker thanks John, I watched the link and found it informative. I'm in lock down in Cayman (could be worse I know) going to buy gear tomorrow. Not sure if your methods will translate, but here goes nothing!
The Fish Locker true! Thank you for being so thoughtful!!! All the best to you and your lovely family!
We got our seaside house ! Brixham 😎 I've been watching these videos and wishing for the sea for ages... Now it's a reality. ♥️
Well done to you and good luck with this chapter. 😊
Congrats on your 60k subs John! Keep it up. You’ve created an outstanding channel and community!
7.50 nice bass👍👍
- I had a few cracking fish didn't I. Great day at sea. :)
@@TheFishLocker spectacular day mate well done👏👏👏 i saw all the fish but the bass it's my favourite 👍👍

He is good and he don't try at all to be fake. Is what you see is what you get. 100% sound
Thank you very much Daniel. That is exactly what I do. Simple and honest. It might not have all the whooping and high fiving that other channels do but I do my own thing. 😊
Outstanding Video John !! - I hope the Mrs had the batter and deep fat fryer on the go for when you got home !!!
Giles Killinger - She did as a matter of fact. 😉👍🏻🎣
@@TheFishLocker I thibk it was Eddie Edwards recently when he did a catch & cook (I might be wrong!) said about using a mix of Mayonnaise & water before breadcrumbs instead of beaten egg! Sounds good but I've yet to try it! 👍👍
Great video like the different fish we don't get here from new Zealand
- Thank you John. I always find it really interesting learning about the fishing in different places. Your Kahawai sound like lots of fun to catch!! :D
Always remember catching blue nose off white island and the bronze whalers would eat them on the way up! Good Times
Hello. Another great moment in your company. I could not believe an hour had passed when the video ended. All the best.

You really appreciate a beautiful morning. God Bless you!
Queen A.K.A. Misty YVETTE - Thank you Yvette. As I have said before, I’m just sharing what we love doing. 😊🎣💙
How long do you let the lure sink at the start of the video when you were casting
It depends on how deep the water is.
@@TheFishLocker would you say mid water?
I had to watch this one twice. You live a good life, amazing. You wanted bait and you got big fish, then it got better. way to go.
Thank you Dave. Take care. 😊
Your videos are engrossing bud. Ever thought of doing trips for people?
Jarred Hudd - Hi Jarred, firstly thank you very much. I am glad you enjoy the videos. I have considered doing trips but I would have to get my boat coded and all the courses and insurance would mean I would have to charge a LOT per angler to make it worth while - or get a bigger boat, which again is the investment and would mean I’m not doing small boat stuff any more. 🤷🏻♂️🎣🐟
I had forgotten what blue sky looks like.... Another quality video John. 👍
Perch Rock Fishing - Haha. It didn’t stay blue for long. 😆🥶
The skerries pear are still doing the business then! Beautiful bass, nice pollock and awesome ling mate really enjoyed this one, let’s hope we get a nice long spell of dry windless weather!
The Portsmouth Angler - Aye mate, any weather without this howling wind would be nice!! 😊👍🏻🎣
I watch every video you upload but as a fisherman, I think this video is the best one to date. I've watched this 3 times now, great content. Thanks.

RicTic66 - Haha. I’ve lost a lot of my twang so I say porpoise much the same as anyone else. 😛The whole Fishlocker platform is about sharing of info and helping folks learn. So what you see is what you get in the vids. 😊🎣🐟
Hmmm, New name, "Beautiful Morning out on the boat" LoL Another great day of fishing,Thanks! Someday ill get to fish the ocean!

Miles Baigent - Thank you Miles it has been our pleasure. All the very best to you and your family and have a great Christmas. 😊🎣👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker yeah they are a big old birds and think they are the boss until Gannets show up. They are not so brave then 😂
Excellent days fishing. Picked up some great tips. Never caught a Ling before so hopefully this summer. Many thanks MM
- Good luck on the ling hunt. 😊
- It was a bit chilly but the action kept me warm. Knowing where to cast is part of the skill. ;)
Great video content again John ,beautiful Cornish coast line shown ,love Cornwall top draw video fella 👍🏻🇬🇧
Mark Kyte - Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it bud. Tight lines. 😊🎣
Great catches under difficult sea conditions...fine job John!

what a cracking trip out..quality inshore fishing followed up with a great bit of wrecking (never caught a ling),i bet that hand will hurt for a day or two!..definatly going to do some light fishing for the bass this way next spring.enjoyed that film mate, nice one.
dave oldman - Thanks Dave, aye it was a cracking session.
A year on I’m still loving the statement “out on the boat “love it, tight lines John 👍
Simple and honest. 😊
Just met Daniel from maff and at the local pub quiz, 8 guys from culdrose who commented on my fish locker t shirt, 👍
Brilliant vlog John totally enjoyed cracking fish 👌👍
Jason Devlin - Thanks Jason. Glad you liked it mate. 😊👍🏻🎣
Thanks for another cracking video John, loads of action & great fish! Felt for you with that Bass attack, looked painful!
Nick Carter - Haha. Thanks Nick, I’ll take a little collateral damage like that any day if I’m catching fish like that. 😛👍🏻🎣

fred dimble - Thanks Fred, merry Christmas to you and yours and take it easy. 😊🎣
Prime time Saturday night viewing... Bloody brilliant ..
- Im glad you enjoyed it mate. :)
Yet another great vid John... never fail to impress. Very inspiring. Total respect for your catch and release mind set. Only keep for the table. Thankyou. Have a great Christmas.
Darren Potter - Thanks Darren, it’s the only way to be mate. Take only what you need, and treat the natural world with respect and appreciation. 😉🎣👍🏻🐟
What a fantastic session! A day like that is priceless, well done mate!
alexandre xandao - Thank you very much. Just goes to show what can be possible even on a less than perfect day just by adapting to the different conditions. 😊👍🏻🎣🐟
I am a bit envious. I wish I was a tenth as good at fishing as you are man. Even just your foraging videos have me in awe. It's hard to do stuff like that where I live.
Keep it up😄
- Noone is born knowing these things Cody. Life is a learning experience, I am still learning every day. Wether it be on the boat fishing, on the shore foraging or simply by reading other peoples fishing reports. The main thing for me is that people are having fun and learning about the natural world around them. And a little bit of good luck never hurt. ;)
