this is the only progression video where i actually saw progress. learning your timing is a hard thing but you got it down pretty fast for just a year!
in my team i was the only one with the worse timing but i needed to learn how to time it right because in my team im the cannon but i still can't get perfectly right so im one year thats pretty good
I got timing down in a month and a half of playing or so, all it took was like 2 years of watching tape and analyzing it 💀 dont know if its really an equal tradeoff 😂😂
@@nart24 Started off really goofy but then started improving crazy fast o-o by the time you reached half a year you were way better than me, My skill level is about the same as you after you regressed over the summer
The guy who jus with you with the glasses, should get a medal, for sticking with you through out all this training! I wish I had a friend who wants to do practice with me! Great work!
This was awesome! I always found that older kids/adults can make way quicker progress because their heart is in it 100%. The drive for a lot of people is strong because we want to be good, but REALLY don't want to suck. Anyways, this was incredible progression tbh and it happened SUPER fast. Be proud of yourself homie; you grinded that shit out!
seeing this made me wanna go into volleyball even further and makes me wanna try my best in getting better, well done bro u went threw a lot to get to the level ur at rn well deserved!
yes !! no matter how good you are, you can always improve ! sorry to make this about me, but i have never played a sport once in my life, but this fall i tried out for the school team and made it (chipped my tooth at tryouts lmao, but i made it in before that), i was (AM) ass at the sport and it wrecked my self esteem. but over the off season i’m going to keep practicing and keep trying.
@@p1rzx i have the same feeling with basketball! i am not a sporty girl at all but i wanted to try out cuz i need some other extra curricular other than band. also, basketball is the only sport im interested in. but now i also find volleyball fun😭
This was an insane progress vid and I loved that you had different swings (line cross) and ran different tempos (5s, shoots, and 1s). Keep staying out of the comfort zone. Hope to see more growth!
question… i play volleyball but my high school doesn’t have a team so i don’t know all that much. What are the like 5s and shoots. i can assume the tempos and shoots but what’s a 5?
Awesome progression! I can totally tell the difference. Volleyball is harder than people think and your determination to be good is totally showing through. I too continue to practice every chance I get so that I can become really good at volleyball. Keep up the good work.
I normally don't comment on youtube videos but your progress is amazing! Major props for always full swinging and never sacrificing ur form, or arm speed just to get the ball over the net. What you do really well is spacing between yourself and the ball when you swing. Keep it up my man!
Also as a boys volleyball player, watching this inspires and really makes something inside of me want to strive to be the absolute best I can possibly be at volleyball. And also practice as hard as I can. Thanks for the motivation boost!
Pretty good man, I have been playing club volleyball for 6 years and you do not look like someone who has only been playing for a year. Great conscious improvement effort, keep it up!
Dude this is awsome. I've been playing for 8 years and half and I know some guys that are as bad as when they started with me (not the coachs fault). What's really impressiv is that you started with good movements and you just had to improve them with strengh, explosivness, skill, experience... Congrats
Nice video, thats an insane progress in one year Keep that up buddy One tip for hitting harder: Hard to judge from this short vid, but seems like you could get more power out of your left arm swinging down, use that power to twist your torso and bring your right shoulder to the front in one movement.
the progression is amazing and seeing it all in a video like this was really interesting! I also liked the music choice lol, I've been listening to Generation a lot again recently
HUGE props for sticking with it. You've got more drive and perserverance than anyone I've ever played with in nine years of it. I only just got serious about my presence as a hitter a year or two ago, and I wish so badly I had done it sooner, because next year is my last year of playing in high school. I'm going to be an art major (lol) but my love for the game is still very much there, and amazing players like you are part of the reason why. Keep playing, keep practicing- amazing work man.
Way to go Nart! I was fun to watch you learn/improve and I especially liked how you owned your faults and shared them. As a broken player who is relegated to coaching this was great to see!
Very inspiring! Gonna start practicing more now, I’ve playing for a bit more than a year and still can’t spike like you do. Hope you get even better in the future!
i have a good tip for you guys as an outside hitter: your body moves into the air when the ball has reached its highest point (in a perfect set). with perfect set i mean theoreticly the optimal angle the setter sets the ball to outside. there are too high and too low balls. if the ball is too high you wait a bit more with your approach (so you jump when the ball is falling down after reaching its highest point) and if the ball is too low set you need to be a bit faster (you jump before the ball is falling down after reaching the highest point). but for a general anchor jump up when the ball is at the highest point in the air. keep on rocking guys, im an lefthand outside hitter :) what helps is get a progamer country vs country game and analyse your position compared to the setter. pros do a bit different than the avarage volleyball team. they often set the ball "too low" because they force the opposite block to move fast in order not to block correctly (because its too fast). but even if the ball is too low set the pro jumps into the air when the ball reaches it highest point on outside, but the approach in general is much faster. the outside hitter needs to be confident that the ball is set low. because he starts an approach even before he can see where the ball is set to. so the ball needs to fly perfectly low to the outside hitter, while the attacker is doing his movement. if its then set too high, the hitter will be "under" the ball and wont attack correctly. Problem here: - the body or arm is under (because the body is falling down from the jump, while the ball is too high in the air) or - infront of the ball (he moved too far to the net because he cant see where the ball is set to cos he started the approach in order to receive an low set ball but the setting angle isn't good -> ball flying a bit away from the net / not parallel from the setter) and not on top of the ball!
Good job, reminds me of when I was year 9 I had a huge jump in ability to hit that year that seemed to come from nowhere. I’m 31 now and I recommend to get to a higher level to actually focus on learning other positions because it makes your out of system play and versatility far more important to the team. Everyone wants to be an outside hitter, so if you can set, block and pass it’s hard to take you off the court.
Of all the progression videos ive watched yours was the best. Not a lot of people can be as good as you for just a year. There are still a lot things to work on specially on your footwork and torque when hitting but overall it's such a great progress. cheers
This was crazy progress especially for a year. One thing I noticed was how much you’re swinging your arms forward before the back swing of your approach. This forward swing is inefficient a lot of the time and makes it harder to adjust to different tempo sets. Besides that, your hitting is extremely good and you can put the ball where you want on the court.
Love seeing stuff like this. I’ve been playing my whole life and seeing progress like this is just amazing. If I could, I’ve been a coach for a long time and if I can suggest anything it would be with your footwork to open up more, and focus on driving your left arm (aiming arm) down faster and at the same time bringing your hitting arm over the top to generate more torque and power! Keep up the great work man
Nothing like the feeling of being able to bounce the ball inside the 3m line. That took me a few years haha. Nice jump serve too. Looks like a pain to receive.
This video is so solid! The only thing i saw that never really went away was the over aggressive front arm swing. I can see how it help you timing a lot but the better you get the more you want to get ride of that because its killing a good amount of your speed in your approach. Nice job!👍
The progress is amazing i started playing almost 3months ago and so far I’ve been a libero because I’m good at revives but now I’m trying to spike and this is very motivating amazing job
Broooo I'm so proud of your for your progress. The progress is amazing and you did so much for 1 year i can't describe. I'm on the same road as you and you inspired me to do more and progress. Continue pushing thanks for the amazing vid

Even though you didn't practice in a team for a long time you still improved really good. I started playing about a year ago too know and I practiced most of the time about 4 times a week so I progressed more too but It's impressive that you learned so much by yourself!
So proud of your progression dude. I'm a outside as well with the exact same height (my reach is probably 5-10cm lower than yours though currently). I have so much to learn but me and my team are motivated af. We're playing in our first tournament this year :)
very inspiring video. the approach, timing and power all level up. that jump serve is a killer too ;) i also admire the setters man because i play that position. so great to have those friends who grind together, and thos e courts look amazing Great Video!

Yeah I lack a lot of flexibility and core strength atm, so I don't engage the core enough to snap my whole body into it as well.
this is a great video, showed it to my friend that just recently started and it indeed encouraged him
