@@knuclear200x Many of the fish that humans hunt don't make a scream or cry that we can hear but they still feel pain as they have nociceptors connected to a brain like pigs, cows, chickens, dogs and cats.
Donate them to HIGH SCHOOLS and MIDDLE SCHOOLS. I major in Entomology (Insect Biology) at my University because my High School Biology teacher had an insect collection in her classroom. If it wasn't for that insect collection I would had never found my passion for Entomology.
It’s kind of an oxymoron that he’s worried about the population of butterflies yet he has an entire basement full of dead ones. For the more I thought that title said ..oh hahahaa, never mind I just figured out my own question. I’m not even gonna tell you what I thought. I am embarrassed of myself lol happy new year everyone.
Put these frame butterflies in museums cause there is not many that exist now some might be extinct , need to share to the world in museums cause we probably might not see them anymore .
'''at his estate in Kenya'' colonialism is still happening and they keep stealing everything african, even insects ! Poor butterflies, murdered for their beauty !

Okay my comment deleted itself and I’m kind of mad but I’ll do a tldr of it. Collecting butterflies is for research (for entomologists). Collecting every butterfly you catch is useful because you can learn different phenotypes (looks) of the same species because the same species can have different looks and can be thought to be different species but can turn out to be the same (looking at the genitals under a microscope is the best way to tell). Collecting each butterfly you find also counterintuitively saves them since if you get all without bias you can estimate the wild population in a region and if it’s low it could be marked as endangered or critically endangered if there wasn’t enough data about them before and therefore ban or restrict the collecting of them. He is a lepidopterist which is an entomologist which specializes in Lepidoptera which is butterflies and moths. His collecting is for research while lots of other people collect to sell pretty butterflies. By making them marked as endangered or critically endangered it would slow down the trade of the species (though the black market butterfly trade is still pretty big) Edit: You can also find new species. Edit 2: Also if a species goes extinct having a preserved specimen is always nice
I hope the lepidopterists aren’t killing the butterflies just to frame them.
thats what i was wondering... he got soooo many. noway he found them all dead... he's killing them to frame them? im confused by this
That's ok. Butterflies don't scream 😈

@user-ys2ko2jt4y good, we can eat butterflies too
@@knuclear200x If you want to hurt butterflies when there’s plants to eat, I guess that’s your morals.
Putting them in a museum would be a good place for them.

whatever you say bug boy
Very cute love how something so simple helped you choose your life path how awesome
@@noobyxd3219says a cranky racoon boy😂
I remember wanting to be an entomologist when I was a kid. I love insects (well, most species anyway).
So why again does it face an uncertain future? Because he *IS* going to die in the future and no one is yet named to take it?
The entire collection is legendary I'm pretty sure he has butterflies that never even seen😮
No you can Google em all

If I was rich, I would buy his collection and build a huge atrium and let visitors come see the beauty. 🦋 ❤
100 or so years from now when humanity has demolished the eco system this collection will be worth something lol
Yeah I think we should protect the beauty of nature
Id say a museum should take them after his passing
My ex friend did this. And they do not kill them humanely.
Beautiful ❤❤
I have saved a few butterfly’s lately 💪
Poor butterflies🥺🦋
Smh the title is disgusting, where in Africa?!
They said all over???
@lavabite2245 But where is the museum?
Today is the wrost New Year Day ever for me
Why????❤ what happened ALREADY!! it’s only noon honey. Well, at least where I am. Talk to us.
My bike was stolen
I mean, it could be worse. You could've been hit by a truck while out celebrating New Years in New Orleans, so there's that.
Ati Kenya 🇰🇪 😮😮😮😮😮😮
He is partially responsible for their endangerment
A well established museum. 🤔🙂👍🌷
Stop speciesism
Buffalo bill
Leave butterflies alone. They aren't items to collect.
It’s called “science”, and I’m sure he has friends in labs that give him their dead butterflies.
4 million?! Sounds like he's more of a threat to the future of the species than climate change

Give me some batter and peanut oil and I'll know what to do with your butterfly collection.
Leave em alone. Poor things
Womp womp bro, it’s a butterfly 🦋
Give them to the locals! Africa has rich museums they love to preserve their cultures and heritage. 😂😂😂
