Follicular waves continue throughout gestation except for the last 1 or 2 months of gestation yet the dominant follicles are small and do not produce sufficient estrogen thus the cow does not show estrus signs and also there is a lack of LH surge because progesterone concentrations are high throughout gestation in the cow. 0.1 % of cows may show gestational estrus due to low threshold for estrogen for estrus expression in such cows.
Quiz; Thanks for your lectures seems many cows in my area exhibit metestrus(because of bleeding after 2 to 3 days after serving) hence failure of conception what do you advice for optimum conception?
In some areas, a phosphorous deficiency may contribute to more metestrus bleeding and poor conception. Supplementation with phosphorous can help in such cases
The developing follicle secretes estrogen. The increasing levels of estrogens result in overt estrus expression in cattle and also triggers the peak LH surge that roughly occurs around the estrus onset resulting in ovulation of an ovulatory sized follicle.
Leutinization is the conversion of the cells (theca and granulosa) of the ruptured follicle both in morphology and steroid secretion. The same cells that were secreting estrogen now start producing progesterone. In the dog, preovulatory luteinization has been reported and even progesterone rises during estrus contrary to estrogen rise in cattle.

Sir what will happen to the follicular waves during gestation

@@GNPSir sir why first estrus is silent in animal
@@dixithansretta3877 It's because of lack of progesterone priming or low progesterone level
Estrus signs are due to estrogen what is the role of progestrone in it?

Hello sir,
I have a question
Which phase of estrous cycle is absent in dog ?
Metestrous or diestrous
Some texts say metestrus while others say diestrus there is no standardization. We need standardization in many other facts also in vgo
Estrogen surges occours at the end proestrus and lh surge occours at beigning of estrus in cattle? Or after lh surge 24-36 hrs ovulation occours?

Great work sir keep it up
It is very helpful for us
Thanks
And lutenisation occours before or after ovulation?

Could you please elaborate the estrus cycle of queen...
Thanks Sure
Highly appreciated 🙏 🙌 Sir.
Sir why Silent estrus occurs in Buffalo?
probably due to low estrogen or poor estrogen receptors at hypothalamus

Thank you very much Sir
sir plz tell "OESTRUS" & "ESTRUS" both are the same term
Of course the same difference is British and American
@@GNPSir sir thank u

Sir, In which period (proestrus/estrus/metestrus/diestrus) of oestrus cycle fertilization is take place ?
(Respective to all species)
Fertilization occurs during metestrus in most domestic species except the dog in which it occurs during estrus
@@GNPSir thank you sir
Sir, Buffalo is long day breeder or short day breeder ?
And why?
Buffalo is a short day breeder. Heat stress has a negative effect on buffalo due to poor thermoregulatory mechanism and the black color
Thank you sir.
Sir split estrus is more common in bitch or mare ??
👌🏻👌🏻
👍👍
Sir... in bitches do we see metestrus...?
