@@laishramkipjensingh Hamilton and Day (1945) found that ovulated oocytes from mare did not have a polar body and this led to the concept that the mare ovulates a primary oocyte and this was thus included in text book by Hafez. However, later studies by Palmer et al., 1987 and later found that majority of oocytes recovered from pre-ovulatory follicles of mares were found to be at Metaphase-II. Probably this would help in removing the confusion that a mare ovulates a secondary oocyte and not a primary one.

Surgical translocation of the penis is one procedure to prepare a teaser bull often referred as a Gomer bull. Vasectomy is another procedure to prepare a teaser bull. However gomer bulls are vasectomized by some for additional safety and hence the confusion
