I hereby appreciate the way you explained animal cell culturing, and especially hippocampal culturing and widely used organotypic culturing. Thank you for this informative lecture! I've loved it. :)

you say at 3:30 that cells with highest capacity of growth predominate - does that mean as you create more subcultures, you will get more and more of a single cell type (being the cell type with highest growth rate)?
Let me tell you this is the best video i have ever seen. I mean you are literally so great. The way i understand ufffff.
Thank you so much

Nice video, I do have a question, you said before that cell lines have limited life span and then on the table it says cell lines have unlimited lifespan, is there an error somewhere?

just to confirm, following the passaging of the cell and centrifuge for cell suspension, the cell is then left in the media to grow?
Ya very little amount of cell from the suspension is transferred in a new plate containing media for further growth
Very good explanation sir🥰👌

Can u pls let me know where can i buy head and neck cancer cell lines (specially tongue) in india at reasonable price
I don't know it
hello arpan , your videos are really good. can you please suggest me some good but simple books for cell culture
You can reffer to Wilson and Walker book but honestly its a practical thing so we learn it once we do it
sir i have a question that a normal cell line will die after how many division?
Generally after 7-10 passage it should not be used for experiments....cells might accumulate many mutations and undergo telomere shortening...but this is highly variable for different cell lines
if we make cultured for endothelial cells these cells may not accurately reflect organ specific endothelial cell characteristics what is the reason ? ist related to aberrant in gene expression or what happen ?
Very nice question , in reality extracellular matrix plays important role 8n tissue morphogenesis and cell fate specification . If we use isolated cultures, all those external signaling will be absent and hence fate specification could be altered . It's always a problem for cultures

Honestly there is no good book for learning cell culture....you have to hit the lab to learn about it

How are cell lines immortalized??
Immortalized cell lines are derived from a variety of sources that have chromosomal abnormalities or mutations that permit them to continually divide, such as tumors. Because immortalized cells continuously divide, they eventually fill up the dish or flask in which they are growing.
What is PBS solution
Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS)
