  • Assassin's Creed has been my favorite video game franchise for a long time. I had always heard bits and pieces about how the idea for Assassin's Creed came to be and some of the original people behind it but I never took the time to research for the whole story. Well, I finally did and it's a very interesting one with many things I never would've predicted. So I hope to help inform those of you who don't know the whole story or how the original idea for Assassin's Creed was conceived. Hopefully, this will help you better appreciate the incredible people who created this series...

He still is. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is in terms of gameplay an incredible game. Building around the free climb, no-hud, never stop-playing -experience of the early AC games, exploring, surviving and evolving.
While similar to AC1 the gameplay loops is a bit repetitive, the foundation the game is build upon is amazing.

@@MarkFilipAnthony I haven’t played ancesters, but I can tell that it’s a great idea that needs to be fleshed out. Don’t get me wrong, I think it looks okay, but that’s it. It needs a sequel so the wrinkles can be ironed out and improved upon.

I was too little to play the games so I kinda forgot about them. Last year when mirage‘s trailer dropped, I remembered the series. I watched all of the trailers again and decided to buy brotherhood. • @thijmen5295
      @thijmen5295 ปีที่แล้ว

@@u-evzzm ask any Dutch person and they’ll say the Dutch golden age (17th century). This was a period where Holland was the richest country in the world (and even the richest a country has ever been) and even tho our nation had just been established, quickly it set itself as a fierce main rival to the big empires like England and France. We made our own colonies in America, Africa and Asia where we traded spices and our navy had a legendary status with many big names we still remember today like Michiel de Ruyter and Piet Hein as naval generals. A lot of scientific and cultural works were made back then as well like the invention of the microscope, studies on the human body and painters like Rembrandt and Vermeer

I already knew this story but I wanted to watch anyway. Yeah, Ubisoft did Patrice dirty. I am still sad with that. Not only him, but with the rest of the OG team as well, especially pushing for annual releases.
Then we got what we got recently with the RPG series, which is not even close to the OGs in terms of story and vision.
Now let’s wait and see how Mirage turns out to be. It is our last hope to Ubisoft somehow honor Patrice, Jade, Corey and the rest of OG team.
If they fail with Mirage, then we can officially declare that Assassin’s Creed is dead.

    Assassins Creed 1.
I am elated that Assasins Creed One is getting a graphical remake.
They should just work on the graphics and add more medieval arming sword options, I would love to use a beautiful Crusader arming sword as Altair.
I don't care one bit about the story outside of history/the animus, I just want the historical content. My top ACs are Origins,2,Brotherhood and Unity. Revelations setting of Constantinople was superb, but the half arsed npc design ( copy and paste potato face) really placed that game on the back burner for me.
But without a shadow of a doubt my favoutire Assassin's Creed of all time still remains Assassins Creed one.
The setting of the Levant is such a climax in our world's history, the numerous cultures and world views that all convened ,coexisted and cooperated at this crossroads were immense.
Medieval, in cities that are policed by soldiers , guards and police forces , shows exactly why stealth and assassins were a reality/necessity. Those settings are superb.
With iconic cities such as Arce,Demascus and the center of the world Jerusalem , the world in which you find yourself is so rich in history, culture and importance, filled with peoples and packed, lively streets.
In a medieval setting using European arming swords, ME shamsiers , short sword, throwing knives and your iconic hidden blade , makes the close quarters melee combat the best there ever was.
I adored the melee combat in these older AC games, such beautiful, complex, flowing moves that were so elegant and deadly and AC 1 still has the best / most beautiful melee movesets of all the games.
You start with just your hidden blade, then slowly as you develop your skills and rank up you gain access to more and more weapons until you are armed with some of the most elegant and deadly weapons of the middle ages.
You only use a one handed weapon, thus only a single handed or double handed weapon, no Sword+dagger or sword + shield or two sword combo and that is melee perfection to me.
An arming sword in the hand and nothing in the other. In the remake If they added some moves that included damaging the enemy with your hidden blade whilst in a melee duel using your sword, like when you fight janissaries in AC Revelations then it will be pure melee perfection.
Altair is by far the most intriguing and capable Assassin to me , he is strong, calculating, mysterious and in my opinion the most skilled assassin thus far.
You sit on benches to blend into the crowd, or you join a group of monks in prayer allowing you to vanish from your pursuers.
The way the factions in the game are depicted is good,
Unlike the propaganda of the repulsive woke cult of today , they don’t portray the Christian Crusaders as the villains. Although they did portray the Crusader held territories as cold, bleak, dilapidated and run down where the Muslim areas are vibrant and more appealing which I do not agree with.
Especially the Hospitallar quarters which in reality were some of the cleanest and most clinical areas in the entire Levant since they specialised in surgery and the healing and recuperation of all injured / sickly people , be it wounded crusader knights or Muslim/Christian/Jewish villagers sharing the same cities.
The Crusaders specialised in the construction of wells and water ways / aqueducts that facilitated the flow of fresh , clean water into controlled cities and waste water out of these cities.
(Although I can’t recall if Acre was under siege at the time in game, if that is the case, that could explain the city's dilapidated state.)
But be that as it may, you still fight against the Crusaders as well as the invasive Muslims.
At the end they show that the enemy is not the Templar Knights , but instead the corrupt ,evil leaders on both sides of the conflict.
I love that they correctly show that both factions have evil and corrupt figure heads that you have to assassinate and in turn both factions have good honorable leaders that bring so much good to the world such as King Richard the Lionheart and Saladin.
The toughest enemies to fight are the Great helm wearing Templar Knights and rightly so. These special forces of their time were a force to be reckoned with and even when you use all your combat skill and tricks… you still get a proper run for your money when challenging a Templar Knight to a duel.
I don't want open world, I don't want guns and I loathe MYTHOLOGICAL / MAGICAL shit looking at you AC Viking hype train. Keep it 100% Historical. I loved that AC1 gave tiny hints about God Three in One's existence/presence but that was never the focus.
I want an AC with the depth and realism similar to Red dead Redemption but in a Medieval/Ancient setting.
I can’t stress how much I love AC one and I can;t wait to play it again when the remake comes out.

The ones that are based on the videogames tell the same story with a different perspective, which gives you more depth in certain characters like Elise, Haytham, Edward, Altair, etc. And some events and details happened in slightly different ways.
Others are that are based on the games but serve as precuels or secuels like the Origins one and the Bassim one.
And others like Descendants or Heritage that are originals which exists in the same AC universe but tell different stories of different assassins and different settings.
This description of the books also applies for the comics, mangas, short films and videogame spin offs.
Some are retell stories, some are precuels or secuels, and some of them are og stories that expand the Assassin's Creed Universe.

First thank you Patrice. 2nd imagine a world where movies and modern anime were made frome inspirations of games like The AC series etc.. idk, i just think the story in the first maybe 6-7(in order of release date)AC games were one of the few storylines in gaming history that were serious enough to be taking serious and good enough for big screen if not anime adaptations.. side note: the AC movie that came out was ok imo, but didnt do the series justice at all (from a trying to gain new fans off of just the movie).. smh Mario did well in theatres tho, lol no shade😅

Patrice might as well be seen as a god or something, i can't imagine playing only hitman as a stealth game (I collect stealth games yes)

Fella up till AC Odyssey I respected Ubisoft.
But now m8 fuck me dead, they buried the Creator of one of the biggest franchisees in gaming history.
Folks may not know his name but true Assassin's Creed fans will.
So thank you Patrice, here's for all the hard work and fun ❤️ cheers.
And thanks for making this vid m8, I wouldn't have known about the work Patrice did.

I feel really bad what Patrice think about the Beloved Series he created. This is similar how George Lucas have to deal with Disney Star Wars.

I'm glad it went the way it did. Sadly Desole made his choice: Family over Career. and paid a huge price. So glad he held himself accountable for his actions; But I'm glad it didn't become as cliché as Far Cry or another Batman series game.

Honestly i enjoyed how Desmond’s story ended. They failed to follow it up with a story worth telling. It now feels like they use assasins creed as a cash cow that will fund their other projects. They don’t want to commit to telling a story and rather make different characters so that new comers are able to pick up the game easily. Like the original plan that they pitched legit sounds like someone who is invested in making something special. Smh.

Since the worst details started coming out about Ubisoft I’ve always found it the best to separate the art from the artist with their titles. I despise their business practices but I adore the AC franchise.
