I have a 2003 Ram 1500 Crew cab with a MTX Thunderform box under the rear seat. No modifications 2 X"10 woofers. It's about 8 years old and still shakes the outside mirrors.
I'm bumping on the skar (2) 12" s under rear seat box. no modification.1000 watt rms 1ohm. For the money it sounds great

This box is an absolute beast. I just put mine in today man it sounds like I have a regular box in my truck. I’m running slds sundown 12s at .5 ohm a they are rocking. I’m definitely going to get a bigger speaker because this box can handle it no problem
When you wire 2 dual 2ohm speakers it leaves you with the impedance of .5 ohm. Looks really good tho! Cool box

Im going to look up videos of how to build out my back seat to make the room I'm losing from having a cargo van. You are tricky dicky on the outline and understanding of vehicle impedance and voltage and ground.!!

I bought mine about 5 years ago and it’s the best box I’ve had! I’ve many other boxes is this by far better than any sealed box on the market!

I have the same box. With sa12s and a taramps smart 3 , mechman 320, big 3 upgrade. Best box for the truck in my opinion

You can only go so high on the speakers.Because the box will not provide the proper amount of air space.Just cause it fits doesn't mean it's the right one

i currently have a similar setup. just got a skar rp3500 amp for more power. before i install i will add the 2500 battery box (i have vararam intake). what alternator did you buy and did you replace the belt along with running big 3 ? thanks for info i been digging into this and its been hard to find

If you have those sundowns truly wired how u said you have them wired wayyyy too low for that amp how u say they are wired it’s to .5 ohms and that amp is half ohm stable. And you were correct in a way about your rms increasing you have two 750rms subs sundowns at that and they can definitely handle more than rated! With that being said you would need 1500 watts at 2ohms based on the only way you’ll be able to wire in series/parallel. I have the sa12v2s in my ram in the fox box. I’m telling you you should be wayyy louder than that just my 2cents #ramlife💪🏾

With those sundowns with that box was he able to get the max power out of those with out it clipping ? Looking into getting that box for my 2 sundown 10s sdl for 2018 ram 1500 I have a q bomb right now and my 10s are chocking in that box I can barley turn up the gain a quarter with out then clipping
I got 2 500rms 10s ds18 in I think is a q bomb ported box
Because you have a 5 ft³ of airspace and your speaker fills up a tenth of that so you really only have 4 and they will get hot and clip but you put them in the ram box that's ported then you'll be okay no more clipping and more movement of the subs
If you wired both of those d2's to one ohm and your amp is a class d monoblock andhas two connections you will be at a half of an ohm not one ohm
Where did you find the intake ? I am building my system now but I’m building a custom fiberglass enclosure for a sound quality build so it will be sealed, I was planning to fabricate a battery box and install battery on the frame rail under my Ram truck, I have 00 awg. and 0 awg. ofc wire, I have everything for my build but my tweeters, I have two illusion audio c10xl’s subs, four morel elate carbon 6.5’s, four Hertz legend ml 700.3 midrange 3”, a Helix ultra DSP and a stinger height 10 head unit with a few different PAC integration units, I have about 14 amplifiers I have collected over time but I’m gonna use either my Rockford Fosgate T1500 bdcp or my T2500bdcp if the subs will take the 2500, I have a 3200 watt sub amp plus another 600 watt but they are not AB technology they are D series, I sill need tweeters but I’m back and forth with someone trying to buy some scan speak beryllium 3000/60040 series , I am in process now building custom A pillar pods for my mids and tweeters plus I’m working on my kick panel to customize fabrication to squeeze the 6.5 with a tweeter into them, I hope the 320 amp alternator that I installed will be enough, I’ve read about bypassing the computer controlling output and installing an external regulator but I’d rather not do that. a If you don’t mind, can you let me know where to get the intake and the big screen head unit that you have and what is needed to mount them, I have some amps and new 6x9 speaker sets I’d get rid of if you know anyone interested, they are all top brands, Let me know if you don’t mind where I can find intake, if you want to PM me that works. Sounds like your going to have a good quality system you should post a video of it when it’s done. If you do a quick google search there are multiple sites that sell the vararam air intake, we picked this one up locally. The radio was ordered from phoenix automotive.

Ramflo. I tried writing a long explanation on building but it was too much, they need a private message option here, maybe I’ll learn how to do TH-cam and put a video on here of me building one start to finish. The fiberglass enclosure is easy to build and just takes a little time, I suggest looking at US composites web site for chemicals and matting because there’s different types, like carbon fiber, Kevlar and fiberglass along with different weaves and weights, also there are different resins like polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy, I suggest epoxy if you don’t want the strong chemical smell but it cost more, I use polyester resin and I already had some 1-1/2 & 3/4 lb. Chopped strand mat on hand so I used that on my last one but my next one I’m gonna use a hybrid chopped & cloth mat which is very strong and easy to work with. go to Net Audio on here at You tube and look at his videos you can also go to the website too but they’re (Net Audio, Paul) enclosures are expensive 1000$ and up depending on detail, which it’s very nice custom built unlike mass produced fox, not saying fox is bad just different league of detail, he is cheaper than he used to be now that more places build and sale enclosures but he was the first to build and sale custom fiberglass online that I know of and might still be the only one, if you don’t want to build your own and want to buy one that is where I would buy one from for myself, like I said I will try and learn TH-cam because I could put all kinds of helpful videos on here and probably save people a lot of money too.
@@subzero59lt1 I found the intake thanks, I’ve heard of Phoenix but I heard they can be buggy I heard linkswell is the best but it’s not offered in my year truck, would you recommend Phoenix from your experience? I’m not real worried about the DAC since I’m going through a DSP. Thanks I’m gonna try and learn TH-cam and start posting some stuff. Have a great Christmas
Did you have to get longer seat bolts to accommodate for the seat spacers?
No, if you use one set of spacers the factory bolts will work. If you double them up for more clearance then you will have to get longer ones

I worry about my seat sitting on top of mine is that something I should worry about or is it ok or should I raise my bench seat up
The box comes with spacers, you can actually buy another set of spacers but then you would have to get long bolts. You can also throw a grill/cover over the speaker so the seat won’t muzzle the speaker
Does your ram have any issues with voltage drop?? I have a mechman 320 alt In my ram with two batteries and once my subs hit on idle , my amp cuts out until the voltage comes back up .. any idea what im doing wrong?
No black truck didn’t have major voltage drop, at idle the battery gauge did dip down a little but it instantly came back up. The dual runs of the zero gauge helped alot with voltage drop. Make sure you check all your grounds. On your amp, turn your gain and bass boost all the way down. Play your music then slowly start turning your gain up and see what happens. The amp could be going into a temporary protect mode until the voltage to the amp comes back up. It’s possible you could need a bigger amp or a capacitor.

When you buy the ram box just get the 2-in seat lift and it will automatically be ready for you to lift the seat and put the back seat down

phoenix automotive. 12.1 in. I had one and it was super glitchy. replaced with a linkswell 10.4 in. have never had a single issue with it more than happyu to sacrifice the small difference in screen size for the quality and amazing tech support.
Do you need an alternator upgrade?
It definitely will help when running big wattage amps

Where did you get your seats??
They are seat covers from clazzio, but the real leather. They fit very tight.

I don’t think soo, the mega cabs have boxes designed to go behind the seat. Those mega cabs are perfect for the low deep bass because you can get a bigger ported box in there. Fox acoustics might have some on their website

and it will be stiffer the fox box is great but i think you lose alot due to box flexing
Kinda kills me to see the subs being hit by the seats because I’m buying a new truck with subs underneath and don’t want to have them get ruined
They make grills to put over the speaker so the seat doesn’t touch them, I think we had put spacers underneath the seat bracket, so that raised the seat up
Your subs are dual 4 Ohms. If they were dual 2 Ohms, they would come out at 1/2 Ohm, much too low for most amps.
