2018 Clemson vs South Carolina Football: Gimme Five

- On November 24th, 2018, the Clemson Tigers continued their ongoing domination of the hapless South Carolina Gamecocks, as they notched their 5th win in a row to extend their series lead to 70-42-4. The game completed another undefeated regular season for the Tigers at 12-0, while the Gamecocks brought home one of their most cherished moral victories while only losing by a score of 56-35.
Jake Bentley took his series record to a perfect 0-3, with the last two losses following his #NeverAgain battle cry, while true freshman Trevor Lawrence rang up more than 700 yards of offense on Will Muschamp's vaunted S-E-C defense. Led by Travis Etienne's 150 yards and Adam Choice's 3 TDs, the Tigers 4-man running back rotation ran roughshod over the speed bump scrubs that master recruiter Will "Flipper" Muschamp ran onto the Death Valley field.
Even on a night when Clemson's defense didn't have its fastball, the Tigers still sacked Bentley three times, intercepted him once, and managed to pull off the rare feat of two different goal line stands. Christian Wilkins registered both a sack and a TD, as he went airborne on a toss sweep to remind the Gamecocks of the ever widening talent differential between the two programs. As novice AD Ray Tanner rewarded Will Muschamp's miraculous 7-5 season with a contract extension ahead of the slobberknocker Belk Bowl matchup with UVA, Clemson's coaches had to settle for a fourth straight ACC Championship and fourth straight appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Listening to Todd Ellis claim "Carolina is cycling in while Clemson is cycling out" was really very funny. Here's a better analogy: Carolina is "tricycling around the bottom of the SEC East while Clemson is motorcycling through the ACC Atlantic and Coastal Divisions, winning ACC Conference Championships, and in the CFP each of the last four (4) years, and winning the NC twice!"

Great game. What's even more encouraging is that the Tigers have not played their best game yet. I made the statement that this team may be the best Tiger team of all time. Man, that is saying a lot considering the 2016, 2013, and 1981 teams. Makes me proud of my alma mater. Let's give an attaboy to old Never Again. He played a great game, maybe his all-time best.
