I had no idea that substrates play such a big role in plant health. You explained it so well, and I’m definitely going to upgrade mine. Thank you for the valuable tips!
Great video! I’ve always struggled with growing healthy aquatic plants, and this explained so much. I never realized how crucial water quality, light, and nutrients are for plant health. I’ll definitely be paying more attention to my tank's parameters now. Thanks for the tips!
Excellent video! I’ve struggled with aquatic plants for so long, and this really helped me understand the root causes. The tips on water quality and light intensity were especially eye-opening. I’m excited to implement these changes and hopefully get healthier plants in my tank!💙
Great video! I learned about the importance of proper lighting, substrate, and nutrients for healthy aquatic plants. The clear voiceover and detailed explanations made the tips easy to understand. Definitely useful for improving my tank!
Hello, you guys have helped me to start my planted tank . Several years back. I was wondering why my plants are struggling, and I recently pulled the trigger and bought a CO2 dual regulator for my planted aquarium. I’ve never looked back. My plants look amazing and now I’m able to sell to my local fish store for credit . 🌱 . Not everyone has money to do this but it’s a great investment!! Thanks asd
Excellent video! I learned how crucial proper lighting and nutrients are for aquatic plants. The voiceover was clear, and the tips on tank setup were super helpful. I’m excited to try them out
Fantastic video! I’ve been having trouble with my aquatic plants for a while, and this really opened my eyes to what I might be missing. Water quality, light, and nutrients are all things I need to focus on more. Can’t wait to try these tips and hopefully see better growth in my tank!
Ive sort of winged my first tank, threw flourish in it, some root tabs, used Fluval stratum substrate, and now the tank won't stop producing new plants. It's a six gallon cube with a Betta and some snails, but I've had to start a new tank just to throw the other plants into. I have to remove about 5 cryptid wendettes a month, trim my pearl weed weekly, and the only thing I really struggle with is my anubis, which isn't sickly by any means, it just doesn't grow much. It's roots are very happy though, so I try not to mess with it. I don't know what to recommend to anyone, or how I've done it, but I have a happy, abundant tank of plants, and I hope this video helps anyone struggling have one too, because it is awesome! Actually, quick edit just to add the fact that my tank is now 4 years old! So do believe time is an important factor to plants, so have patience. Most plants you get are just babies and are too busy with their roots to be bothered growing upwards or outwards. Good luck! :]
These are some of the best tips for many people to mantain aquatic plants. Checking the water quality consistently will really help to keep the tank environment healthy. Thank you so much for doing this video.
Great video. Thank you. I feel better knowing how complicated and nuanced plants can be. I have felt bad because I have been struggling with dwarf sag. Other people talk about it like it's bullet proof but not for me.
The video provides an engaging and comprehensive guide to creating a thriving planted aquarium, blending technical insights with practical advice on lighting, nutrients, CO2, and water parameters. It's well-paced, informative, and encourages hobbyists to take a thoughtful and proactive approach to their aquascaping journey.
I’m still learning how to care for my plants. I always thought it was just as simple as getting a bowl a fish and water and that’s it but I was wrong big time.
Informative video! I now understand why my aquatic plants aren’t thriving-lighting and substrate are key. The presentation was engaging and the voiceover made the information easy to digest. Looking forward to applying these tips!
My first aquascaping aquarium, an Oase ScaperLine 90...for several months I used tap water since my water is light with a KH 3 and GH 6...one day while I was at work they had done maintenance on the condominium's water system...in the evening I did a weekly 50% change as I was used to doing...that day all the fish were afloat and I had to throw away everything that was inside the aquarium (more or less €300 between fish, plants, furnishings)...that was the last time I used tap water before switching to the reverse osmosis system...

Another underrated part about planted aquariums is water flow. Water flow keeps detritus from building up at the bottom of the tank which can potentially lead to nitrogen deficiency) and instead suspends them in the water column for your filter to take in. Also, water flow assists in the distribution of CO2 and nutrients more reliably reaching dead spots or somewhat isolated areas of your aquarium. Not to mention, it will be harder for algae to spread onto plants, as there’s no power source (fish poop/plant decay/etc) sitting on your plants to promote their growth.
As someone passionate about fish aquariums, I really appreciated your video. It taught me the key reasons why aquatic plants struggle to thrive and provided great solutions. Thank you for sharing, it was incredibly helpful!
There are several reasons why growing healthy aquatic plants can be challenging. First, water quality plays a huge role in their health-plants need the right balance of nutrients, oxygen, and pH levels. If the water is too murky, too rich in nutrients (like nitrogen or phosphorus), or has poor circulation, it can hinder plant growth. Second, inadequate light is a major factor. Aquatic plants rely on sunlight for photosynthesis, and if they're not getting enough light (due to shading or poor water clarity), they can't thrive. Lastly, temperature and water movement are also critical-extreme temperatures or strong currents can stress plants. Without maintaining the ideal conditions, it's difficult for aquatic plants to grow healthy and strong. 14:33

Thanks for that edit. It's a good point that getting plants from a store probably means your plant is young. That's a good way to think about them.
Great insights! I had no idea about these details. Can’t wait to try this with my aquarium setup.
Another phenomenal video my friend, I’ve learned a lot from your channel and I greatly appreciate it. 👍🏾

Super!
How much should my tds indicate? For optimal growth for plants and healthy fish health
Aim for 90-120 with 100 being the sweet spot
you are the best
