    This is quite possibly the best idea for reloaders on a budget. You could make your own 0.02 accurate throw for less than $800. Great job!! Using this with the Ingenuity Precision Trickler would be a great combo.

    That's a really cool setup. Now to add in a powder throw for faster powder measures.

    Nice work!
    Have you considered making an analog version that works with a balance scale and uses the phone camera to watch the beam and trickles till the beam lines up with the zero mark? This could get almost anyone into an automated powder trickled for very little money.

    Have you considered making a video on how to build one of these from start to finish?

    • @Ammolytics
      @Ammolytics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good suggestion! For now, I'm trying to get things a bit more stable and easier to do (e.g. pre-built image for the SD card). After that work is complete, I'll do a quick follow-up video and show the build process (maybe in fast-forward or something). It's a straight-forward build, but some folks learn visually and I want to support that.

    Subscribed and eagerly awaiting the aforementioned updates.
    I've built all the components, but do I need to login to the Pi Zero to setup Bluetooth. The app doesn't seem to be able to find the device automatically.

    G'day Eric, I absolutely love your work! Have you ever looked at Chinese balance scales? The are claiming accuracy in line with the a&d or satorius, but at 1/4 the price (they are still an electromagnetic scale rather than load cell) and have RS232 or USB out/in

    • @Ammolytics

      Interesting! I haven't tried them myself, but I'm open to it. You can find my email address on my website -- send one over with any details that you have and I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks for the heads up!

      A lot of progress has been made on this project recently, with help from the community. Once things are a bit more ready for general use, I'll share an update video and article. Until then, come by the Discord channel (linked on my website) to join in and learn more!

    Anyone know what stand he is using. Just call all the parts to start a build. The Pi was hard to find :)

    • @Ammolytics
      @Ammolytics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stand you see here is just whatever I could find to give it more height. The trade-off with trickling in from above like this is that the extra distance created a lot of lag on the system, leading to overthrows.

    • @Ammolytics
      @Ammolytics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Richard, thanks for watching!
      By drop tube, are you referring to the funnel system I have attached to the top of my scale?

    • @uscbigdawg
      @uscbigdawg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir. The Trickler assembly is an easy read. Figured it’d be fair to include the cherry on top of the sundae. :-)

    • @uscbigdawg
      @uscbigdawg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know it’s an Area 419 funnel and cup. It’s the cylinder above the lid and the drop tube that would be nice to know.
      Thanks again for open sharing this.

    • @Ammolytics
      @Ammolytics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@uscbigdawg I don't have parts numbers or dimensions immediately available, but it's a small metal funnel (like those used to fill a flask) press-fit into a short piece of copper tube (5/8" or so).
      Tell ya what -- I'm working on an update video/article to share the progress that's been made. When I do, I'll include more information about the drop tube for you and everyone else.

  • @edwardlance2379

    Nice idea, but it is agonizingly slow for the last few tenths of a grain. Manually controlling the trickler with an intterupted power switch you could top it off much quicker.
