Dee, I sense you are feeling invalidated by some of the feedback you have recieved. I, on the flip side of the coin, view you as a kind of mentor. I really appreciate the nuggets of information you pass on to me and your other viewers. I appreciate you.
Yes.....I agree with viewing you as a mentor! Thank you for being you....kind, considerate, extremely helpful!!!! I am "walking" into vanlife slowly and your channel is my favorite!!!
I love how easy that installation was! Yes, people seem to think you're "doing it wrong" if you go your own way and do something that different from the norm. I love all your unique ideas! I can't put into words how much I appreciate you sharing your out of the box thinking with this van build! 😊
I have been renovating campers for 20 years. What I learned is money spent now on spray foam etc, separating front of vans from back pays off 10 times later in heating costs. Most nights I use a few tea lights in a baking tray in my stove. Also use diesel heaters and candle lanterns. Spray foam is expensive. But when winter comes you realize it was not expensive. Same goes for hot days in the sun..
Thank you for taking us along for the ride of your build. You’re one of the very few TH-camrs that have made a van build approachable so viewers can gain confidence and feel like we can do it too! ❤ your channel! 🚐
Love that you have the confidence to go with old school/tried & true where you deem appropriate. Hoping your build will help others to see that complex/expensive isn't always worth it. I know you've got this! So interested to learn what your choices will be!
Wow! I've been waiting for someone to do a build that kept the systems simple. Removable panels are a great idea. If you get a leak or a system failure, you don't have to destroy walls. Also, keeping "built-in" systems to a minimum means fixing or replacing machinery is not a nightmare.
Hi Dee, at the moment I am a bit (autistic) at a standstill. I watch your videos with great interest and admiration! I will respond later. I see you have plenty to read anyway 😅 ❤
People who make off-the-wall comments haven't a clue. You've done well with the Ladybug Van and I know you'll make this another winner due to your knowledge and meticulousness. Great job!
Super speaker, you are Dee. Clear, concise, and to the point. You also know your subject which is important when attempting to communicate ideas to others. I further like the fact you termed what you are doing as “deadening” in lieu of “dampening” which so many others incorrectly use to describe sound attenuation. Thank you for sharing your new build with us, I really enjoy your content. 🌷
I never doubted you. I've watched you do other projects, and you proved that you knew what you were doing. I was taught in most things there's not a right or wrong way to do things. Just different ways to get to the final outcome. Continue to do your van your way.
I am so impressed with your knowledge, abilities, self-confidence, and independence. I know that your final layout/design will be cozy while still meeting your needs. You have a good eye for making a cozy environment. Thanks for sharing your process.
Lady Bugout, to me, is the prettiest, freshest, homliest design. Unique and beautiful, so I completely trust your vision on this, and grateful you're taking us on the journey with you. Also, I have to say, I completely admire your courage for taking on such an enormous task. You are truly inspirational. ❤ Love the bloopers!
i love watching your brain work as much as the work of DOING. the variegated grey of the insulation is reminiscent of an old alpaca blanket i have had for years...always warm, lovely dreams under it....{did anybody else LOVE the sound of the sticky backing?}
Thank you for sharing that. It made me feel like I was putting a cozy sweater on my van. It is so satisfying to watch those peel and stick panels go on, isn’t it? 😊
I’m sure you think about this build a lot. I’ll bet you even dream about it! I like your minimalist yet functional approach. I will watch the entire build with excitement. Rock on!
If you haven't done so already. I'd take the vehicle to the washer to see if there are leaks. I built out a ProMaster like yours, the seams in the roof were leaking. I made sure I addressed the leak before the insulation--this is a critical step. Good luck, you're doing a great job!
Dee . . . you have been such an inspiration for doing it "your way" - taking what you've learned and extracting what you need, being open to experimenting. Thanks for sharing your process. And for the bloopers! Looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds as you go
Hi Dee, why would anyone doubt you? Some of us know you did ladybug 1 or at least some of its modifications and look at how beautiful she turned out. I absolutely love that you looked at various options of materials to use (time vs money). No doubt in MY mind that ladybug 2 will be just as beautiful if not more. ❤❤
Dee you always make a lovely cosy space, and I especially like to see builds where people are not doing the same old intricate wiring job etc., they're creating a mini home that doesn't need a lot of great technical skill - thank goodness. I don't think it's really necessary at all. I'm so intrigued by your methods it's great to watch your progress ♥

Definitely one of my fav TH-cam channels. Love how you are so researched and methodical. Your explanations are clear and on point! Looking forward to see you progress!!!
I’m glad I had read in the previous video your reply about application of sound insulation to 25% of surface, but I’m happier still that you opened this video with a more thorough explanation including your experience in “Gutted,” which I was ignorant of. That peel-and-stick insulation looks grand on all accounts! Time saved is money saved.
You've lived van life and sure not many people have that experience. Don't let the naysayers get to you! They said I couldn't retire at 56, well it's almost 4 years later and I wonder how works going for them! 😁 Looks great, can't wait to see the van completed.

I’m so excited to follow along as you build out your new van. Lady bugout has always seemed so comforting compared to so many others out there that are just hum drum. Over the years I’ve loved seeing how you implemented your ideas and then how you were able to make changes and updates over time because of how well you knew your needs and your van build. We’ve had our Pleasure Way van now for over 18 years and although it was professionally built, is beautiful and my happy place every time I climb inside there are so many features I’ve learned are not needed and when something needs updating it’s difficult because everything is heavily embedded. An example would be the 27 fresh water tank. Think of a plastic tank that can’t be scrubbed out and believe me flushing with bleach or sanitizer doesn’t cut it. It’s like not scrubbing out a drinking water bottle that only gets filled with water but sits around in the hot sun half the time growing bacteria and mold. You would still want to give it a good scrubbing on a regular basis. We also don’t drive with a full tank of water because of the lousy gas mileage. We carry around a couple gallons of fresh water, a filter pitcher and then a 3 gallon container of water for showering. Forget embedding in all the wiring, all the plumbing, etc. Again so excited to see what you do so I can get practical and functional ideas for updating and improving our professional built van.
Thank you for sharing this. I have heard many stories throughout the years that have helped me learn a lot. And you’re right, so many of the things that are great to begin with end up being a pain over time or when things go wrong. 💪🏼💃🏻🙌🏼
Please don't feel defensive about comments. You're okay. Make your decisions the way you want. I look forward to new ideas. And I am impressed with your workmanship and attention to process and detail. I personally couldn't ask for more from a man OR a woman. Men don't usually present themselves as defensive about what others think. So don't. Go for it. You are obviously a strong and intelligent woman!
Hi Dee, another fantastic video showing the progress of your new build! I am enjoying every minute of it, and I am just daydreaming that I am doing it too😀🥰🥰 I know it is hard work too. Everything from planning, thinking, obtaining materials, installing....a lot of time and energy. You are doing a great job!👋👋👍👍🤩

You must continue to do what you think is right FOR YOU. So many are very quick to be critical often with minimal knowledge nor experience, so what right have they to comment. I trust your decisions. All the very best with the continuing adventure with the pro master 👍🏻👍🏻 xx

Can't wait to see your vision for your home. I'm sure that it will be wonderful and very true to yourself!
Thank you, I’m excited to see it come together too! 😊
Thanks! I’m glad you think so.💪🏼💃🏻🙌🏼
Great so far.looking forward to seeing it when it's finished dee.xx
Thank you! 😊 I’m looking forward to it too😛
Hi Dee, another fantastic video showing the progress of your new build! I am enjoying every minute of it, and I am just daydreaming that I am doing it too😀🥰🥰 I know it is hard work too. Everything from planning, thinking, obtaining materials, installing....a lot of time and energy. You are doing a great job!👋👋👍👍🤩
Thank you so much! I am having fun and glad you are here for the journey!
I am so glad you showed those clips at the end!!! It showed that even someone who speaks so eloquent as you do can make funny bloopers. Like all of us. I am loving watching you build and explained and your extra knowledge will help you out tremendously. I Can not wait until next week!🚐❤😂
You’re too kind! I can’t wait for next week either! 😊
Watching you do this makes me think I wouldn't mind building a van this way.
I’m glad it is giving you confidence! 🙌🏼
I am so excited about what you are doing and learning from you…
I'm glad you find it helpful🙌🏼
You must continue to do what you think is right FOR YOU. So many are very quick to be critical often with minimal knowledge nor experience, so what right have they to comment. I trust your decisions. All the very best with the continuing adventure with the pro master 👍🏻👍🏻 xx
I appreciate the encouragement 🙌🏼
You have more patience then i would, you go girl!
Thanks 💃🏻
Great video.
I’m glad you liked it!🙌🏼
Terrific stuff Dee! Wrapped in a blanket now.. I like how its pre-cut and stick-on ready! :)
I know, it makes the job so much easier! And I thought the same thing that it feels like it’s wrapped in a blanket now 😝
Ladybug 🐞, Do You!!!

Greetings from Scotland. I started watching your channel about a year ago as I also had a Ford Connect camper. I sold it in December and I'm now looking to buy a larger van to convert.
