About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first TH-cam channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!
Thank you, everyone for watching! Hope you can remember to SUBSCRIBE to my channel, hit the LIKE button as it helps us a lot, and leave a comment to say HELLO! Man, I am sooooo excited to start our farming projects on our side lot . What should we grow, guys? HUGS!
Calamansi
Vegetables like okra, 35:14 eggplant
Fruit trees
Calamansi please 🙏🏽 🍊 😊
coconut and mango trees, for the win!
The patience and caring you have, not just with Suga but with all of the Mabuhay Animal Kingdom really shows, they all fell yours and RJ's love for sure!
PERMACULTURE FARMING, that will be another CHANNEL for you, CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, love watching all the way from MANHATTAN NEW YORK and thanks for introducing SUGA and his kind to all MABUHAY SQUAD people
Plant also coconut trees Mikey, I think the tree you saw was "santol" but I have to check the leaves closely though. So nice to have your own farm. Don't forget to plant flowers that attract pollinators (sedums, asters, lavenders, coneflowers, etc.) In my creative gardening group they always say it's cheaper to do gardening than pay a therapist. More power to you!
When you finally start your Food Forest, you might want to put a perimeter around it that will not enable plants like Cadena de Amor or Kudzu from encroaching if ever they ever start growing in the area as those plants are really aggressive and will not go away no matter how much one tries to get rid of them, especially if they have made a good foothold with their roots and because they can smother other plants that they climb on; this was what actually happened to our vegetable garden because it was getting pretty hard to control how aggressive the aforementioned plants are. Maybe that's what happened to the Avocados, being smothered by the wild plants. Maybe putting a sturdy fence around the area of the Food Forest might help, and if Cadena de Amor or Kudzu will start growing and climbing, you can get Billy and other goats or the future cow to eat them before they ever make it inside the Food Forest area. And I think it will also be a better idea to have two cows since cows are known to form bonds with each other and would be better for their well-being. I guess it's due to them being herding animals in the end.
Also, new bird call alert at the 19:20-19:24 mark; that rapid hooting sound comes from either a Philippine Coucal or maybe a White-eared Brown Dove; they're pretty similar sounding so I am not entirely sure of the ID since the call sounds like it is from far away. I'm leaning toward the former since the call sounds more similar.
I'm so envious!!! Ya'll are living my dreams! I am in my mid forties and have been living in small, city towns for the majority of my life. I am at a point where I just want a house for my small family located away from the city. I want to be able to entertain guests as well, plant my own food, raise my own food and have farm animals. That's all I want.
The plantita in me is so thrilled about farming.
...you are my regular dose of positive vibes online ❤😊❤
Planting grafted fruit trees will not take long to bear fruits
this lot would be great for raised farn beds (the high ones not the lower ones you showed) also because of your bad back it would be better to do the farming standing up.
the youtube channel ''self-sufficient me'' can give you an idea for this lot mark valencia is an ex-soldier living in a similar climate to you in Australia who got wounded in his service so high raised farm beds are ideal for him so check him out and I'm sure you would agree.
Wow. I just noticed y’all are at 312K. That’s such a huge accomplishment!!! It’s nuts to think about where y’all were when I started watching until now.. Good Job Friends!!!! It’s just so wonderful to see the Blessings taking shape.. it’s always great to see people who deserve it prosper. So happy!! 💐
🐜🍎🐶🦜💕
Those are the fruits of a bangkal tree (Leichhardt tree), Mikey. They have a conical shape and a bitter flavor, but bats and birds like them.
Amusing fact! Binangkal bread, a type of doughnut from the islands of Visayas and Mindanao, is derived from that tree.
Interesting! Thank you for the info!
If you have a large creek with stagnant water, I would suggest you visit the local health office near your area and inquire if there has been issues of dengue fever around your area. It is positive then that creek since it has stagnant water can be a haven full of dengue crying mosquito. What I would suggest is you hire a contractor than can dredge that creek so it can create a flowing water.
I'm over the top excited for the side lot! Great things are coming!
Looking forward to seeing your plan materialize , I was trying to picture it as you described them .. I am excited for you and Rj.
Hi!!! I had 3 sugar gliders it’s a mom, and 2 sons . SG can’t be alone they need a company . They get lonely and likes to eat carrots , Honey Nut Cheerios, boiled eggs , steam rice. You can also have them fixed if you get a female one 😊 they’re very cute and sweet. You just need to bond them. Mine are awake in the morning as they get to know your routine if they start to better . They liked music too and tV sound. They make certain noise because they’re afraid of the new owner. 😊enjoy your new baby sugar glider! Shoutout from Houston🥰🇨🇱
You made a little haven in the Philippines. It's nice to live in the countryside and enjoy its beauty and serenity. Here in Canada, we have a short Summer but lovely 4 seasons to enjoy. Savor life as much as you can. You made your life a good example of a happy person. Animals give happiness and a good companion. They also absorbs stress in life. Love you guys. Keep well and best wishes always with RJ.❤❤❤
Hello to Mikey and R.j.! How are you guys doing? There’s a wildfires in Maui, Hawaii! Happening right now! Pray for Maui!
So excited to see the outcome of farming on a long-term basis! btw, your house looks absolutely amazing, all the plants are lush due to constant rain these past few weeks. Stay safe mikey and rj
Yes! Grow the food you eat! Be self sustaining and share it!
Excited for you and your farm!!
i am excited to see the farm take shape!!
First time to see sugar slider…
You’re really amazing!❤
They are nocturnal. You must spend a lot of time with them to bond with them. If you don’t it can have an adverse effects. They need a lot of space to glide. Their diet requires close attention. They require a vet visit every year. Their nails must be kept trimmed. Their bark can be very loud and if they are grumpy they make a different noise to warn you to stay away. The plus side is they are very intelligent little creatures that can be clicker trained like birds. They like to play like kittens. My sis glider lived for 12 years, so it can be a long commitment. The oldest reported sugar glider lived to almost 18 years old. Love you Mikey.
Yeah Farm time!!!! Am new to farm as well because am from City life 👍🏻😷👍🏿🇨🇦🇵🇭🇺🇲
Wow! That’s huge lot. Plant dwarf fruit trees like avocados, lansonez, rambutan, dragon fruits, etc. You don’t have to buy fruits, herbs and veggies.
Kangkong will love the creek! Sun plus water, they will multiply very fast. You and your pets will have plenty of kangkong supply. Yummy! ❤
You guys should look into the advantages of Hydroponic Farming
I was thrilled to see another vlog today! Also love cliffhangers at the end. Awesome as always!❤
I love your church, through water through nature....I can relate. Beautiful 💚
Uu naman excited na ko makita mgkaron kna mga gulay n pananim. Nasubaybayan ko dn kau matagal n bgo p gnawa ang farmhouse nyo. So happy for u love❤️
I think the youtuber who stayed at your house also complained about the roosters. Maybe you can put a white noise machine in rooms. Or a speaker that can play relaxing water sounds or something like that to drown out the outside noise.
Excited for the Mabuhay Farm!
im so excited to see again step by step new farm area!!!😊
Mickeys vlog is really the happy pill for me... thanks Mickey for always sharing your pets and new pets ❤❤ u know I'm also a pet lover and love plants as well like you :) ❤
I’m looking forward to the new adventure of your farm lot
I was asking and talking to myself while watching you vlogging in the side lot. I remember the avocadoes given to you by the Matsuyamas. Where did they go? 😁
Same Mikey. I get to appreciate the sky, clouds, mountains, trees because of BTS. We trended sky/clouds for a member's name back in the day when they were still active on Twitter. Flowers too. God's creations are just so beautiful, we should appreciate them a lot. It's a very nice feeling looking at the sky and clouds.
I really smile a lot whenever you eat like that, with so much enthusiasm. 😊 Scallops and shrimps are my 2 favorite seafoods. I wanna have them too. That was a really yummy and healthy dinner. 😋
Cant wait to see what will grow on the farm side lot ❤❤❤
Suga is lucky to have such loving parents. I love the sound he makes, it reminds me of a motor trying to turn over... Sooo sweet 💜
Or old time cameras
41:35 I love watching your daily life. Definitely made it to the end ❤
Hey Mikey, I'm watching Almost Paradise 2. Congratulations! Wohoo!
It’s never a dull day at the Mabuhay Squad Farm House, LOL! The Sugar Glider is a little nervous today… poor thing, Suga is going to be exhausted after this. And Sahara seems totally interested in all this. It would be a lot but, I wonder how she’d react to Suga. It’s good you’ve got some experience in this.
WOW that’s a lot of land to start your farm. I’m super excited to see how all this unfolds… I know it’s something you’ve been dreaming about for a long, long time. I think it’s just neat!!
When you see RJ thinking, you can almost see the steam rising out of his ears, LOL.
I love how the pool has become such a “holy place” for you. I think it’s totally fitting with you and how you live (not to say that you’re “all wet” LOL)…
I’m loving that Steam Oven… I’m looking into that for my kitchen. I also found an indoor hearth oven that looks super interesting.
I love your home meals. That’s what home cooking should be, just die-lishus for those eating it… :)
WOW! A Cliffhanger?!!?!?!?!?!? So Cool!!!
Ya’ll be safe and I’ll see ‘ya next time!
Wow! Congratulations! ❤
Mabuhay.. Im always looking forward to this..
Thanks a lot, Mikey. Your vlog brings happiness to our gloomy days..
Your side property will be such a great opportunity for permaculture. Glad to see you are evoking the principals. Hoping to see if you incorporate water collection swales :). #foodforest. Loved your ALMOST PARADISE episode and its redemptive arc, btw.
Haha thank you! 🙏 Yeah, I'm eager to get started!
Can’t wait to see it done
I love the farm plans. Food Forest is such an awesome idea, when I lived in New England, our school had a farm and much of it was food forest. We had areas for the pigs and cattle to roam as well. I love the raised garden idea as well. The Mabuhay Farm begins!!!
A possible danger of building the aviary directly on the earth could be that predators might be able to dig through under it to get to the birds...
Worth to watch every vlog you upload mikey❤️keep going and hindi boring☺️
plant a grafting mangoes and any bearing fruits to shorten time to bear fruit easily and not so big tree.
Wow nmn Yan sir ❤
Start to finish aabangan ko tong farming hahaha 😁😁😁😁
I love how Mikey is showing off his bod in this video too, He knows what hes doing.
😂
Hello Mikey! I can’t wait to finish a farmings, so far! They’d not bite to “sugar glider”!
Im always excited din po everytime na may bago kayong project. Pinag iisipan niyo mabuti hindi yung porket may pera ka pag naisip mo gusto ko ng ganito at gusto mo ng ganyan isahang bagsakan lang tapos wala ng progress. I admire you kasi po laging may progress yung life niyo. Sana all po maging kagaya niyo. You're living the dream! Stay healthy po. God bless you more
Truly blessed Suga, Magnus and Donatello to have such caring adoptive humans. Thank you Mikey & RJ.
Our 7-year-old twins wanted to tell you that they love your blog - so much! We are excited to see the farm lot develop. They're saying: "Grow dragonfruit!"
Yes, Raised beds wouldbe great for veges for your consumption, fresh and organic, easy to weed.
Don't use wood for your raised garden beds, because of the termites
Like your vlog do much! Thanks for sharing it with us!
You can grow squash, taro leaves ( for Laing) mangosteen your fav fruits, aratillis good for health benefits, calamansi or lemons too.
I am most excited to watch you get chickens. And grow some food!
Hi Mikey and RJ. Love your volgs and now I like the way you end them. It’s so exciting to see what’s next 😂 exciting!!!!!
Have a kubo in there and plant mango avocado jackfruit fruit bearing trees etc
I love ur mabuhay farmhouse squad ,nice place ❤ i do watch ur blog very interesting ,Tarits from San mateo rizal
Love love love the updates! The Mabuhay Farmhouse has come a looooong way. As for the farm animals, I might’ve just missed it but are you gonna have neighbors on the other side of the lot? If you are, I don’t know if a cow could work. Also, it doesnt look like you’ll have enough grazing grounds for one.🤔 Maybe goats?
I have a plot in the same area. Planning on doing a house with large farming setup with raised beds and some chickens. Not sure on a cow though just yet 😂
Mannnn.....Im so excited for you to develop that land, Im so happy you're using the permaculture principles😊
There is a plant ID app for your phone. Just picture the plant and it identities it.
The leaves from that tree do look like avocado leaves but I could be wrong. You know there is an app that identifies plants. I hope it is an avocado tree!❤
Farming takes a lot of hard work and effort to be able to maintain everything. It's not something a lot of people can easily pull off. You've got to have very specific skills to be able to ensure the quality of the plants and animals on the property at all times.
❤❤❤ Love the rating time..
That Suga is a crazy loud tiny cute thing :)
You may want to consider putting pebble rock in the outdoor aviaries so the birds can't get any toxins from the soil. Before I set up mine, I watched a video that said something about toxins in the soil. I'm not 100% on this, but I would check into it. I put the small, round pebble rock in my outdoor aviary just to be safe.
I’m excited to see guavas, kalamansi, dragon fruits, atis, avocados
You are incredible God bless you
It will look good if it’s surrounded with a white fence just like in a hacienda.
Mahi Mahi try it in Sinigang sa miso RJ you will love it, and I’m sure even Mikey.
omg sugar is so cute!!!
I love food forest too! It's super cool!
Its a hauili tree a native fig tree. You can graft premium varieties on it 20:16
mikeey sarap mo kumain as always 😂
The way you enjoy food makes my mouth watering
The aound that Sugar makes is so scarey. But it should be exciting having all sorts of animals u have there😃😃❤
Lots of work ahead but like the house it will be worth it 🇨🇦👍
Like potatoes camotes and okra eggplants tomatoes siling labuyo siling pamaksiw so easy to manage and so useful everyday
mikey, i watch one video about sugar glider, he was thrown in the air uphigh and he is flying andlanded carefully on the ground and run to his owner.
that was really awesome to watch, amazing pet
Oh, SuGa SuGa. Ahh HONEY, HONEEY, the farm house is level up! Isn’t wonderful??❤❤❤ love love love ❤❤❤
I love it how you trained your different pets I'm learning Mickey esp Suga 😊 the sugar glider :)
Hi mikey, speaking of “kangkong” , i think they can be planted near the creek because of the water resource (at the back of pinoy chalet)…😊
great plan Mikey that way everything you eat is organic...dont forget to include sitaw, kamatis, bittermelon, pechay, talong, okra, patani, patola ,upo kalabasa, mustasa and the flavours of course like garlic, onions, ginger, peppers ..lol i am getting hungry very happy for your expanding property (now that the farm area is starting you could really say its your farmhouse ) lol😂😂😍😍😘😘
I played farmville and I learned a lot about crops LOL How to harvest blueberries in 4 hours 😅
Love the way he said "tabi tabi po"
Love peace lily!🥰
If you could grow coconuts that would be great. Mikey you are great with all kinds of animals.
It's my first to see sugar glider from your vlog.Thank you
Vegetables should be planted where there is full sun for 8 hours to thrive. Your new subscriber from Australia. Mila
10:44 I guess that is a sensation plant (Spathiphyllum wallisii ‘sensation’), a large variety of peace lily (Spathiphyllum wallisii).
You should start a gardening channel!
30:09 put an island in the center for Turtles. TURTOIS ISLAND Ha!
It’s not avocado Mikey, in Bicol I think we use it as a medicine 😊(the old people teach us)can’t wait to see your farm❤❤❤
