when triumph toured with journey steve perry couldn't believe some of the notes rik emmett was hitting.
You mean Journey. Steve Perry is from Journey.
@@emeraldtiger7135 yeah, i did mean journey.
Haven’t heard this song probably since the album came out. Can’t recall whether they played this live when I saw them. Great track.
12years where these 3hosers put up with being under Rush.., but man, they clawed through old school politics, failed record labels, and even that they didn't party, but their struggles were the stuff that equated into just???....Really Good Music!!!🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍.Rik went solo 88, but over time they stayed friends. .drummer Gil has the best recording studio in N. America!!!!🙏🙏🙏🤘👍and Mike bassist??? He is Mike!!!!🙏🙏🙏🤘👍
Such a great band from our friends and neighbors in Canada. Rik's vocals are waaaay up there in the stratosphere. Thanks pncombies for this classic from Triumph. 👍
You're welcome, Imadrummin!
A great double header tonight Neal. Thank you and Harri.
Thank you, Cynthia!
Neal - To the best of shaky recollection, I do not recall having heard this one. Very enjoyable submission choice.
Thank you, Dave!
I saw Rik Emmett live in 2002. He sounded fantastic!
My first taste of Triumph was this album . Now I have all their albums
It was my second Triumph album purchase, but first time to see them live. Great band. I enjoyed them as much as I did seeing Rush live.
I discovered TRIUMPH a little earlier than most people when I purchased PROGRESSIONS OF POWER. If you get the chance step out of the box & react to my favorite Triumph song NATURE’S CHILD you won’t be disappointed.
On of the best underrated groups Especially for a triple Formed 1Like rush And Canadian is well
Good Stuff !!
Rik Emmett has awesome pipes.... still going even today. 🙂
Go down this rabbit hole
Apparently Stave Perry met Rik Emmett back stage after Triumph performed and he told Emmett "can you ever sing high"
Your right !!! My ITunes download of that album said 1976 ….. 🤷🏻♂️
You're wrong,it came out in 1983.
1982
@@williamh4172 oops,my mistake.
This is where they went they lost there Magic Power. So sad to see such amazing musicians fall so far. Yet I know they had no choice , like so many others, being controled by there label contract
Love the original name of this band "Abernathy Shagnaster"
Rik Emmett the guitarist and singer was/is an awesome musician.
I have never been a huge fan of 80’s music with a few exceptions. This will definitely go in the list of exceptions. A little reminiscent of Journey (also a favorite). Great choice and review. Thanks Neal and Harri 🌺✌️
The third of my Triumph Trilogy -- you're welcome, Debbie!
I suppose if your not really familiar with Rik Emmett, you might think he sounds like Steve Perry because of their high ranges but I think you'll find after many listens that they are very distinct from each other, though both are amazing.
Back in that day I'm sure the pants were leather and pretty tight.... Enough to tell what religion they are
magic power by Triumph 83 US festival live is a killer live
I was there , rode in the back of my friends older brothers El Camino, camped 3 days good times 🎸
@@_LVCyou did not!! The wild times as kids, huh? I'm so mad I missed Bob Segar...well I was there, too drunk! My Mustang broke down on the freeway...we were about 45 mins away....me and my girlfriend didn't care, just wanted to get to the concert. Some guys picked us up.....took us to a bar....mind you I was 27, my girlfriend was 15!! All I remember is her dancing on the tables! Lol.....
Their best is....Magic Power!!😂🎉
As hard as canada sucks, they have sent a bunch of great music
At least we don't go bankrupt if we have major surgery
I’m an American, and your comment about Canada is ridiculous
i doubt you even know what the capital of canada is. unfortunately we're a vassal state of your empire.
“The technotronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities. ”
― Zbigniew Brzezinski, Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Era (1970)
We don't want people like you here on this channel. Move on.
How many times have you been to Canada and what sucks about it?
The 80's DESTROYED MUSIC. The beginning of the end...To suggest that that decade was a great decade for music is ridiculous and shows a lack of taste for music...smh.
A bit harsh, but mostly the truth. The best part if the eighties was the holdovers from the 70’s
@@waynethera2712 Exactly...If all the artists from pre 1979 had not continued creating-the 80's would have been dismal.
@@godbluffvdgg, even then some of the great seventies bands out out crap in the eighties.
@@waynethera2712 Too true.
