    I totally agree with you on training with your gear. I try to get my wife and kids out once every few weeks. You can't figure out what works and what don't if you don't try it out. Experience means everything in survival.

    Thank you, well thought out kit. Thanks for clearing up the heavy items on top or bottom of the pack. Appreciate you sharing the info.

    Great bag and well balanced kit, nice compact fire kit, most go overboard with fire kits. One of the best bags out there.
    Perhaps I missed some of the load out but you are light on food gathering and perhaps veg seed for long term wilderness survival. My kit is very tool heavy on food gathering.

      Spatial Interpretations, I do have a fishing kit, snare wire and cordage and other materials to procure food.

      You will be fine great setup.
      Perhaps it is because I don't trust my own skills I have fish nets, craw-fish nets, mouse traps and bait, catapult, snare wire, extensive fishing kit, bow and arrow, 22LR rifle, an aluminium pole with attachments (fishing spear, frog spear, large mammal spear), plenty of veg and grain seeds and a few other strange things.

    Weight for me was to put my weight on my spine. Everything didn’t matter for me. Second was convenient sake. I hiked the Appalachian trail for 1500 miles. If you want to fight all day, that’s cool, but it works for me. My pack is for 35 lbs. and I think that also a factor.

    Don't know about you and if you were in the military , don't know what branch, but I was in the Air Force, as a ground troop and in the Army, and we always packed light on bottom and heavier towards the top of the pack. That method I have always stayed with and I have never had a problem carrying and with the weight distribution.

      I was'nt honored to serve in the US military, but thank you for your service. From what I have read in various military manuals, and service members that I have talked to, the weight distribution that you described is used to allow a soldier to go prone easier with a pack on. However in wilderness travel and in mountaineering, heavier items down low keeps you from being top heavy and allows more stability when traversing or on steep terrain. I guess there is no wrong way, but in my experience with both methods. It is better to have heavy items lower when in the back country. Thanks for watching, your service and your comment.

    “Just don’t ask me how much money I’ve spent” 😂. Mhmmm…for me a 30 year addiction. I run same bag. I finally have my kit down to 40lbs + “defensive” weight. So now I can stop buying gear…Not! Subd. D😎🇺🇸

      He'd probably have a lot more views if he actually had a personality. No offense to that but, he is pretty boring to watch I have never made it completely through any of his videos have had to give up because I just can't tolerate entire video

    hello sir, I just found you here on TH-cam and man let me tell you...you one nice kit...I noticed that you are in washington state, I am in washington also and I am looking for some people to go out in the wilderness and try and trained with our kits...I have a big or long term BOB as well as you do therefore there is a lot of rucking involved in order for us to carry the bob effectively...I wonder if you are interested to get together sometime and test our BOB...great video!

    Nice gear - how long did it take you to acquire and build it all?

    • @49thParallelwildernessrescue
      @49thParallelwildernessrescue  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      49th Parallel definitely understand that.. fine tuned my EDC, almost got the GHB done, and finally starting on a proper BOB.. it's a process for sure.

    Just re-watched this again (first time around near your posting if it) and noticed that you didn't remove your mss sleeping bag from the SealLine bag - and I know why.
    What I don't know is how you got inside the SealLine bag.

      49th Parallel ok cool. I’m at 32.5 without water. Had it in a 5.11 rush 72 bag but carries terrible. Walked just under a mile with my load out and almost broke my back lol. Just ordered the vanquest markhor 45 with the adjustable shoulder straps. Hope that help me in carrying the load out.
