The Search and Recovery of Rachel Tripp part3
In this video I discuss the search operations of 2020, the height of the pandemic. We also pick up a search mission for Sage Adams and find a few clues to Rachels possible whereabouts. Rachels Father Brad Tripp was the key to discovering her come the following year.

The Wild River riding the Skagit River in a Nu Canoe
มุมมอง 1424 ปีที่แล้ว
A buddy and I went to try the Nu Canoe on the skagit river to see how it handled a little white water. Needless to say, that canoe sucked for river canoeing. Every little rapid would flip it no matter what, and not having a keel on it, made it where you couldn't line up with the rapid. Went in the drink a few times and had to cut the trip short due to it.

    Thank you so much for this video. I just scored one of these pre-Kabar BK&T Kukris off eBay and have been searching for info. Found a 1993 article from when these first came out and the retail price was $59.oo !!! and only $49 if you bought mail order from Atlanta Cutlery 😂 !!! eBay sold item search shows these going for $250-350 now if you can find them. Other internet sleuthing shows there were only 500 of these made in that sandblasted finish and a couple of hundred in the grey powder coat someone else here mentioned. One thing everyone who has one mentions is that it holds an edge like nothing else. The ad copy from the day mentions a unique heat/squelching treatment that apparently worked.

    If I did not have a water proof rain cover, I would consider adding two to three (small) drain hole grommets to the bottom. I would like the bottom to have had a leather wear panel like the Swiss mountain ruck sack. Other wise leave well enough alone. Plus if I leave it as stock and I decide to sell it retains it's value. I counted four ILBE packs in my gear closet with only one ILBE assault pack. Beware the after market lids they are not as durable nor as good of a fit as the real (issued) lid cover. They are of the knock of marpat pattern/color and the buckles are of a shiny darker brown color. Like the ILBE assault pack the real ILBE lids are getting expensive.

    Sorry mate, but in my opinion, you are part of the problem. You have an empty fuel tank and you just toss it outside??? Leave the wilderness in as good or better shape than when you arrived. That means pack out your trash and empty fuel cannisters. This [the PNW] is my backyard as well and I always bring in a spare yard waste bag to pack out the crap that folks like you leave behind. I have no respect for people like you and you should be ashamed that first you did that, then second that you filmed it and posted it so everyone can watch how you treat the wilderness. Nuff said.

    ILBE stands for Improved Load Bearing.........what's the "E" stand for? Equipment?

  • @j.r.zavala
    @j.r.zavala ปีที่แล้ว

    I recently picked up an ILBE and after using a Army issued Alice pack (both medium and large) while assigned at Ft. Bragg and in participating on numerous deployments and airborne operations, for a few years, the ILBE reigns superior. I jumped a 100 lb😂 ruck and boy did that hurt. Anyway, this ILBE is very well designed and moreso mission caoable to the forementioned Alice pack. As of this writing, I am not sure if the ILBE is "jumpable" given its design, but that is for another subject or topic. So far, I really like it and will be putting it through its paces in the very near future. I, personally would not molest its design or remove anything from it. Is it perfect? No! With that said, find your gear and equipment and sell your ILBE to someone that would appreciate the initial design of the intent of the ILBE. Airborne!

    Just shows the mentality and IQ level of certain ppl. Doing minor mods to suit your personal preference I can understand hence the existence of PALS webbing. Completely modifying something when there are perfectly good fit for purpose gear already out there, I can only put down to fanboy wannabes. I.e. I must have a military ruck no matter what to look cool even though I need a purse.

    I've seen reports in a forum of those breaking from being thrown too much. Hardened steel is not meant to be thrown like that. Throwing is hard on a hardened knife. Puts tiny cracks in the steel that worsen over time. Up to you, it's your knife, just a heads up. Nice to see this knife featured, love the Bk7.

    if you are going to make your own gasket from waterproof silicone, take Vaseline ans lubricate in all the nooks and crannies, then you can take it all off in one piece when it hardens to a rubber-like shape that you can cut to look nicer after it has hardened. I've done it on several of my lights both headlamps and regular flashlights but don't forget the vaseline it's the important component here. Smear a lot of vaseline round the edges . let it settle for a day or two!!! NOTE: Do not use quick-setting silicone! Hope you understood mein bad Eng !! 😁 Good luck !! And ty for a good video !!
