Morty tries to save the life of a gas creature, who is being hunted by an assassin to whom Rick sold an antimatter gun.

I mean, you’ve gotta think... Morty was able to surprise a telepathic being when he killed him. That was pretty smart of him.
Manipulation is clearly a family trait. No matter how watered down Morty is with Gerry's genes thrown in, he is still Rick's grandson...

He didn't surprise him because he was smart.... the mind reader saw into his mind and saw how stupid he was and figured he could ease up on peeking into people's minds like that considering how stupid he actually is and got overconfident.

Goodbye Moonman was my ring tone for a long time lol. I love this episode. The voice of "Fart" is Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows, and he also voiced Tamatoa, the crab from Moana.
There was a theory with this episode. You're able to see a closeup of the ticket Morty received at the beginning of the episode. It is 5162, the number the other Rick called out at the end of the episode. The theory states that this episode was not involving the Rick and Morty we saw drop off Jerry.
its true, and the way to tell is if rick has the green stuff on his lip or not, many of season 5's episodes dont follow the main c-137 rick and morty

I'm glad you brought up Rick's complex character. You've got to wonder how being omniscient and basically all-powerful would affect a normal human being who was already a super genius. At worst they'd probably be a monster after going though countless unimaginable and mind-bending situations. The fact that Rick has retained his humanity makes him a perfect antihero in my view. This show has a lot of depth and can never be dismissed as simply a comedy.
Not sure you can really say "Rick retained his humanity" under an episode wherein we see Rick repeatedly selling advanced weaponry to an assassin, with no thought as to the consequences, in order to spend an afternoon in an arcade.
Rick's not a complete monster, but he's still quite a monster. As Morty put it, "You're like Hitler, but at least Hitler cared about Germany, or something!". Rick's also, for all his knowledge and access to same, often surprisingly stupid, eg. Cronenberg world, not realizing his feud with the Devil was about Summer, etc.

This was an interesting episode because they show proof that you aren't always watching "our" rick and morty.
Well.. it's. Doesn't make any difference I think, but still, they almost got the wrong one. In the end the exchanged for the right one.

13:00 - The point is that it wouldn't make any difference, Jerrys are pretty much the same. Pay attention on the many situations they react the same way when something happens in the daycare and also say the exact same thing. hehe
All of everybody is "pretty much" the same, except where they aren't.
Not a quantum physicist, but AFAIK, the way the multiverse works, in theory/with some evidentiary support, is that every possibility, down to at least the sub-atomic level, spawns/accesses an "offshoot" dimension/timeline in which it occurs (ignoring the other use of "dimension" to mean unseen-by-humans facets of a single reality, eg possible 5th-dimensional or higher beings that would, for instance, be able to view what we see as "time" as another more-or-less physical attribute of space-time, like how we can perceive a 3-dimensional object having depth. The impossibility of free will without time is another discussion). So, depending on the point of departure from your timeline and the nature of it, an "alternate" you could be as similar as someone from an identical reality wherein a single electron occupied a different location in a single possible superposition, or as different as someone from a reality in which such a miniscule difference occurred long-enough ago or with significant-enough consequences that, say, the Earth was completely destroyed prior to the "other you's" birth.
So, for example, all Ricks would also react almost identically to the same situation, except for the outliers. Then, of course, you get into whether terms like "outlier" mean anything when you're dealing with infinite amounts of something. It all gets real weird, real fast.

Guys, have you thought about the idea that the Rick and Morty that we follow through this episode are not the ones from C-137 (the "real" ones from previous episodes), we are just watching an adventure of other R&M? You don't see them with the family at the begining, they just start in the spaceship and in the end there are various R&M coming to get their own Jerry back, this episode could be about any multiverse R&M xD
Oh, you are worried about original Jerry... Well, let me ask you, how are sure you are watching the same Rick and Morty through the different episodes? They too could be different versions each time.

To answer the planet VS dimension thing: In this episode (as with most) it was both. They went from earth to where ever blips and chitz is which may or may not be in multiple dimensions and on the way they dropped off Jerry at Jerryborree. Where ever Jerryborree may be it had a lot of Jerrys running around which themselves are all from different dimensions so if 'our Rick and Morty' didn't have to change dimensions to reach Jerryborree than all the others who dropped theirs off did.

So here's a very interesting fact about this episode:
If you pause the video at the exact moment that Rick and Morty receive their ticket for Jerry in the beginning of the episode, you'll see their ticket number. It's the same number that the random Rick asks for at the end of the episode, revealing that we were following a completely different Rick and Morty.
Remember this episode. It will be important later on.
