    I cannot thank you enough for this very straightforward, easy to follow tutorial. Because your instructions were so clear, I was able to create my PowerPoint slideshow, save it as a video and offer it as a url to link to my opt-in offer. All of this and I had not used PowerPoint before today. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks Marty! I had a lot of fun putting it together with him. We had to spend some time thinking about the story we were trying to tell and the sequencing of the images. Then it was figuring it out how to make all that work in PowerPoint. :)

    Thank you so much for this wonderful video.. I'm hoping to use this method to email my own digitally designed encouragement cards because my printer died and I can't find another one that prints to the edge and gives me great print quality. I have designed a new card for my church card ministry every week for the past ten years and we send out about 100 cards a week, so I'm looking for other options to get quality cards out to those who need encouragement. I also appreciate so much the written instructions on your website, because I've never used PowerPoint before, but have an old 2007 version, and am hoping i'll be able to use it for this purpose.

    Your presentation on PowerPoint is wonderful. I would find it even more helpful if you slowed down slightly and included just a little bit more information on the particular subject. I slowed it down using Control, but it would still be helpful if you included a little more on the subject--so I can see it totally with the rest of the program. Thank you for your wonderful presentations.

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Hope. The answer is yes (kind of). It depends on what you're trying to acheive... Here are some quick thoughts:
      If you use an outside tool, like Audacity, you can absolutely do this. Just combine multiple songs into a single track. That's probably the easiest wway.
      Within PPT: If you get your timing right, you could have the next song play when a certain slide launches. That assumes that you know exactly how long the song is and when you'll hit that new slide. Which is probably ok if you're using the "advanced slide" "after" (auto advance feature).
      Hope that helps!

    Bryan - Thanks so much for posting this TERRIFIC tutorial.
    It's exactly what I was looking for.
    I am using Powerpoint 2010 - MP4 is not available as an option when saving.
    Is there another format that will work with not only TH-cam, but for general sharing platforms (i.e cell phones, tablets, desktops, laptops.) ?
    Again, thank you.

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank Paul! I think the process in 2010 was a little different. It's not in the file formats when you do "save as." Instead, try doing this: file -> save & send -> Create a video
      I found another video that shows you how to do it here (should jump to 1:12):
      th-cam.com/video/_Orm5tACWNo/w-d-xo.htmlm12s
      Hope that helps!
      Cheers,
      Bryan
      P.S. You should upgrade your version of PPT soon if you can. 2016 and 365 have a lot of good improvements :)

      Thanks Linda! You can actually download and use that song if you like. I commissioned a composer to create the song as a tribute to my dad (those are his sculptures in the lesson). I call the song "Happy Hardy" b/c it's upbeat like him. If you follow the link in the show notes you can find the link (you might have to click "more") it will take you to a page where you can signup and the file will be emailed to you. :)

    How do you live select from the images chosen to display, to then present them in real time as you need to show the pictures you talk about? For instance, if I use this for a live improv presentation and need to show images in different order as I talk about them before moving to the next image I want to then call up.. how can I make that work, or can it even be done with this program? ..as it stands, all tutorials including this one, are for set it and forget it type situations.

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      First. I love that you might be doing something like this for live improv. Very cool. I'd need to know a little more about what you're trying to do, but here are 2 methods that come to mind:
      1- Hyperlink from an image to a new slide: If you right click, select hyperlink and you can link to any other slide. From within a live presentation, clicking that link will take you to the new slide
      2- Zoom - In versions 2016 and above, you could do something fancy with the "Zoom" feature that makes it more like a Prezi where you can zoom into different parts of presentation, or to new slides
      I hope that helps. If you have any questions, just provide more details and I'll do my best to explain.

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you'll probably need to use a video editing program first and save out the audio track.

    Windows Live Movie Maker works pretty good but doesn't have as many features as PPT with transitions. I use it to create quick videos that I use in PPT I like how fast it is and everything gets sized nicely and quickly.

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't used Windows Live Movie Maker before. I'm always trying things in PowerPoint first. :) But plenty of tools can create a photo slideshow. And, surprisingly to me, PowerPoint worked really well for this.

    Is there a way to add multiple songs?

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I think the approach you take will depend on:
      1- how often you need to edit the slideshow.
      2- how you feel about doing math and
      3- if you are comfortable using an audio editing program like audacity.
      The easiest thing is probably to use an audio editing program like Audacity. You can stitch together the two tracks into one and then export and pull them into PowerPoint. No math. Easy to loop, etc.
      If you want to do it all in PowerPoint, you can trigger one song on the first slide and another song on a future slide, but that can complicate some things with overlapping tracks (possibly math to end the 1st track when you're getting to the slide that triggers the 2nd song) and also some potential issues if you want to loop the slideshow.
      If you can tell me what you're trying to do I'll try to test and send you my recommendation.

    • @whywedrink
      @whywedrink 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      eLearningArt I was trying to add 3 songs to a photo slide show that was only 50 photos. I finally had to use VLC to loop the songs while PowerPoint played the slideshow. Really appreciate your suggestions!

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whywedrink My pleasure. Yep. That makes sense. It's tricky putting multiple songs into PPT. You're better off combining in an outside audio editor and bringing back in.
      I hope your slideshow turned out well!

    • @elearningart1
      @elearningart1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Becky - I don't know the Mac version features. But... It's not that big of a deal to not have the photo album button. It just means you're inserting each image manually on the slide, but then the process is the same. Once they're all added, just select all of the slides, and set the slides to "advance after" however many seconds you want and add the transitions you want.
