how does the preformance of arma reforger compare to that of arma 3?
@@slayerofmidgets3201 Much better with much more flexibility for older PCs. Game runs 70FPS+ on my 2016 laptop which is an 7770HQ and GTX1060.
@@OperatorDrewski Enfusion seems like a blessing, if only it was possibly to port it to Arma 3 in a way that doesnt bankrupt Bohemia, guess we just gotta wait for Arma 4.

I really hope they keep the eye zoom in arma 4, especially since people will be able to hide easier with the new lighting, I always felt that being able to zoom like that lets yo see like an actual human, using a 1080p monitor and being at 80fov limits your spotting range far too much
But Arma 3 had that too. And Arma 2 if i am not mistaken

@@majed8192 Squad is a great replacement for the hole left by (especially the older) Battlefields.
Does not hold a candle to Armas complexity or content (or fun imo.), but its great for some team-focused quick "jump in jump out" action.

The echo inside big building, the sound of people inside the house talking while drew on the backyard, WOW. It's so similar to when I hear my neighbor couple arguing.

As a fairly long time arma player I think that reforger is a solid base for everything I ever wanted in an arma game. My main downside is the network problems however I believe that in another week of so most of the major problems will be fixed

@@yuyy8565 but I feel like the only problem really holding the game back rn is the network issues, some people are saying that there isn’t a lot of content but they need to remember that it’s basically a tech demo and was never advertised as “arma 4” there is already new vehicles and weapons and features planned for the future let alone the fact that the game isn’t even in full release.
With its reliance on modding new Arma can be released with no content at all lmao, as long as all mechanics are present and work well enough the modders will do the rest and more.

@@DiveTheseClips Yeah the bare minimum would be one vehicle of every type (wheeled, tracked, rib boat, heli, plane) and a gun with a magnified scope and a bipod. That should be enough to have every feature and provide a base for mods to bring in proper content.
This game is sooo good when it doesn't crash man, I saw an enemy jeep driving in the woods I told them to slow down and wait for me and see if they would notice I wasn't one of them and long story short boys I got the jeep LMAOOO

The multiplayer stability is literally the main reason they released this as early access. It's to fix as many issues in this brand new engine as they can before they use it on their main project of Arma 4. It'll improve, a lot. All of these crashes will be helping them work out what's going on and to make fixes and improvements.

@@WeyounLP Hopefully they've learnt from their mistakes and have sorted a significant amount of the network issues by the time ARMA 4 releases with its own issues. You never know.

@@WeyounLP It is true that Arma 3 have suffered a lot of network issues, but almost every multiplayer games have a lots of issues about it. Even the AAA game studios have issues.
Network and server is one of the most frustrating things to deal with. And one of the hardest bc almost everything can and will go wrong. I just hope that they have learned their lessons.
@@WeyounLP If DayZ is anything to go by, this will just get better and better. DayZ is pretty damn rock solid now. Only when you throw a bunch of mods that might cause conflicts or you're running it on a not all that great server box does it shit the bed.
It makes me happy seeing more then one person shooting and the frame rate stays consistent.
Yep I've been d/cing constantly. Makes me really sad as it takes 20 minutes to kit up and get somewhere and then you just end up d/cing.

@Eric F This game is more of a tech demo for Arma 4 so I doubt they’ll bother ironing out the game before they stop supporting it next year
As annoying as the stamina system was, I hope it makes a return from Arma 3. Watching you go absolutely tearing up that mountain like Usain Bolt on the track was a little silly lol
The default ARMA 3 stamina system is the worst I've ever seen in any game, but it would be interesting to see a new stamina system introduced.
@@MistahFox Kinda need a system like the current one with unlimited run but finite sprint and limited to walking (and maybe make steep enough slopes only be able to be climbed when prone)
I would like to see elevation resistance added to your movement speed too

The environment is great, though I would like to see slowing down of movement while going through water, and much slower movement uphill (when leaving the area near the end of the mission). People can't run that fast up steep hills, even without carrying weapons!

The lighting in this game is really solid.
Yes I really like it, I've seen atleast 20 light spots showing with no issue and that dark matish feeling when it hits on concrete and teammates looks so good and realistic, when it's dark and there's light nearby it shows the detail of the rock/ground/ building other than just making the existent models lighter or darker
one of the things that stands out the most to me is the sound of the wind. its so distinct and ambient. amazing
That's not the wind. It's the server sound when it's about to crash. I hear that a lot......
I was in a game the other day and ran into two guys who told me they finally got through a whole match without DCing once, and I was so pissed at their audacity to lie to me straight to my face like that. I couldn't believe it.

I think the game needs to have harsh and loud foliage crashing sounds when moving through bushes though.
Had my second ever game of Arma 3 today. Hooked up with a good random team / squad leader and, because of watching Drewski, dropped in pretty quick and we became UNSTOPPABLE for like 4 hours straight... Shot a dude out of a helo with a sniper rifle , knocked out danger close armor right after a crazy helo crash under heavy fire, even saved a buddy at close quarters with my pistol after running dry on my primary. Damn solid unit tactics, great cohesion, really funny dudes, totally crazy and hilarious sh*t went down... Most fun I've had in like forever. Prob will never be able to replicate it. Was amazing :D
I am watching this during exams as my break time. It literally boosts me up and after a good 1 hour break I go to study again. Just keep uploading it man! I need more of Arma Reforger night time!!!
one of my big gripes with Arma 3 was the weird lighting at times, this new engine really blows it out of the park in the lighting department from what I've seen; Street Lights and other placeable lights in A3 were terrible, but here they look pretty close to realistic.
It's not that lighting in A3 looked fake, but it didn't seem to travel a good distance and had harsh/abrupt edges that seemed to cut off short, but the lit areas looked decent.
I hate how good graphics and good gameplay/quality are almost always mutually exclusive in the gaming industry, at least in the FPS genre
The dynamic aspects look realistic, especially at long distances. I just hope they will blend it a bit better. It needs to be darker under trees for example, even outside of their direct shadows. But that might be a bit too futuristic though.

It's definitely buggy and crashes a LOT, but when they get the server issues under control it'll be even more of a solid game than it is right now, enjoying this a bunch on Xbox

Try joining a server with fewer than 32 player cap. I have the same problem.

Something that has been really bugging me about reforger (besides the player lag) is the scope kicking back into the camera on the m14. I haven't really noticed it with any other gun but the way the scope just bounces into the camera like its hitting your dude in the face makes me so motion sick man.

Didn't know the thing about the AK and its zeroing on 440m. I had an airsoft AK and always asked for what the notch at the end of the sights was supposed to be. Because it was higher than 100m and also lower than 500m.

I really like the radio usage. Would be cool if there was a system built in for deploying secure comms. One thing I really loved about Arma 3 was that any comm usage was also heard on direct chat/comms. Or if they add the louder you talk over microphone the further you're heard in game.

So I've never been able to play Arma. Because I don't have a PC. Ive always had funny moments with friends and all video games. Whatever I watch your videos or like sovietwomble, karmakut playing arma. Theres a certain wacky bullshitery fun that i only ever got the feeling from watching arma vids.
And now i finally got that feeling of my own in reforger on xbox.
Had this really epic moment were i was traveling through the woods with a random squad i met in a group post. And night fell fast. We couldn't see shit but we didn't want to turn on flashlights and give away r position.
But then light appeared through the trees. We found the base we were after. The was like 20 bots just lined up in the middle of it for some reason and like 6 reg guys running around. Which was about r squads size.
We all got in position counted to 3 and unleashed hell upon them starting with a rpg right into the middle of em.
Best gaming moment I've had in a long time.
I have similar moments like that in HLL. But HLL is more of a constant all out firefight.
I kno this is long. But i definitely recommend this game if you're on console only. Really fun experience.

I love how controllable the recoil on full auto is now.
So hyped for a smooth Arma 4. If it can keep a stable 60 with a lot going on, it'll probably be my most played game for years on end
game is really cool when it works, i haven't been able to stay in a server for longer than 9 minutes but its usually a really fun 9 minutes.

I hope they will add at some point fire effect to the bullets. When bullets of ak's and bigger guns hit short distances they can ignite things and have this nice visual effect too
I love the shell shock effect and all pixelated and such till you come back around ... love that effect.k

Reforger seems to be so much more immersive than Arma 3. The lighting, interior objects, and voice echo in buildings really make for a very different experience.
This prelude makes me very excited for Arma 4!
Don't shoot canted beyond CQB distances. It messes up the sights-ballistics which a milsim should capture.
with a mag full of tracers and a 440m battle zero, you can aim visually
@@Ikaros--- This AI is a bit thick to catch on, but IRL you want to use tracers very sparingly because they alert your presence and position. Normal night use is a tracer every 10 round, or just one on the second last round in the mag to remind of a mag change. A commander might have a full tracer mag to use for directing fire, single shot.
@@bgezal 12:23 this is what I'm talking about, it doesn't matter if you lean and use the weapon, you can see where the bullets are impacting because of the battle zero.
