Good video Cody! If I DO have a 4k monitor and it defaults to 3440x1440 after the optimization wizard completes, should I change my output resolution to 1080p since that is the max setting on Twitch? Right now, its showing output resolution at 1719x720 under the video tab you explained in your great video!

Hey man, I found your "BEST OBS STUDIO SETTINGS" (from 27 aug, 2021) first after which I started browsing your channel. Great stuff, extremely helpful!! Recording > Encoder section. There you mentioned to put the CQ Level at 17 and adjust accordingly but I have no idea what I am or would be adjusting, or what's being used as a frame of reference for this adjustment :P
Start at 17 and if your recordings are choppy or laggy you can lower/higher that number until you get your desired results. It'll be different for everyone's setup :)

Try the AMD one first and if you start to have issues then switch to x264 :)
Hey man loved this video and really appreciate it! I was just wondering if you could answer a question about my audio tracks. No matter what I seem to do I can get them to record correctly. After recording I only get my microphone audio recorded or just the desktop audio recorded any ideas on what could be causing this? I do have the correct audio tracks tick I've tried messing around with it but cant seem to find a fix, Thank you :)
Are you recording on 2 tracks or 1?

First off, thank you so much for the super thanks! I really appreciate that! For your question, you are correct. You'll want to change the output resolution to 1920x1080 since the highest twitch accepts is 1080p. If you end up streaming to TH-cam in the future where they have higher stream settings, then you could stream higher outputs, but on Twitch they limit you to 1080p - Here's a TH-cam Encoding Chart if you ever decide to take the TH-cam route: support.google.com/youtube/answer/2853702?hl=en#zippy=

Hello hope you’re doing well. I seen your video about streaming on a Mac with obs I’ve added an external mic ( my hyper x headphones) and I’ve tried to use it while reacting to videos. You can hear my voice clearly but the audio from the video is a lot lower when having the microphone in. I tried to configure obs more and even my own Mac’s settings but for obs it says disabled. Is there a way to bypass this. I am streaming on kick btw!

Hey, so I got a problem in obs studio where I was streaming but the volume bar for the game wasn’t moving. Do you know what happened? Just to let you know I’m using windows and I updated obs studio to the latest version.
Make sure your default speaker in windows wasn't changed to something weird and then restart your pc and double check your audio settings in obs :)

Go to your Twitch Page > Creator Dashboard > Settings > Stream > Latency Mode > Low Latency

It's likely if you're using a different encoder option.

First off, great video, thank you! 😊 However, have faced the issue when there is the input delay when I use same base and output resolution on OBS 2560x1440 both but when I decrease the output to 1080 the picture quality is like way off same as my camera quality being blurry. Is there a way you could recommend to combine quality and input response? You’d save me a lot of time 🙏
Honestly not 100% sure on that since I work in 1080 for everything :(

hello im having some trouble trying to get my info for what settings to use after putting in the service, server, then stream key. I'm streaming with kick, and it keeps telling me "failed to connect to any servers" and says to check my internet, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Are you using the Mobile Browser or have you downloaded the Twitch App?
The only options I have are CBR, ABR, VBR and CRF on encoder settings for Recordings. which is best and why dont I have CQP?

If I stream and then download the stream from twitch does that deteriorate the quality of the video? Or should I be streaming and recording at the same time?
It won't give you a lower quality but you can save time by recording if you have the resources available

You don't have to change anything, you can stream with the start streaming button and you can record with the REC button and you can do 1 or the other or even both at the same time if your PC can handle it

Yeah it's likely your internet then, make sure you're using an ethernet cord as well since it'll give you a better connection than wifi

Yup! Go to the Docks tab and click on Twitch Stats :)
What if you have twitch vod track set to number 2?
Then whatever audio tracks are on track 2 will not be in the Twitch VOD

There should be a latency setting on your Twitch page settings (twitch.tv)
I stream on 1280/ 720 because I stream using my TV as my monitor . So would I us Advance or Simple and it's x264
You can steam 720p 60fps, that's totally fine. Just follow what we do in the video. You can use either or honestly just leave the settings that the Auto-Config Wizard leaves for you :)

Right now it doesn't, but the new version will when it comes out. in the meantime you can use www.own3d.tv/en/?deal=cpaws -- this way you can individually buy the overlay packages and import them directly into your streaming software.
6000 Kb/s is way to low for 1080p 60fps. Twitch alows up to 8000 Kb and you should definitely use that instead. Otherwise it's better to reduce the output resolution so the picture is less blurry.
Not everyone has internet speed that can handle 8k bitrate so I recommend 6k as a starting point and people can adjust from there.
Thank you for providing such an informative guide on streaming for Twitch. However, I have a question that has been puzzling me. I've noticed some streamers on Twitch achieving incredibly clear and non-pixelated 1080p60 streaming quality. Do you have any insights into what might be the reason behind this exceptional level of streaming quality? I've seen many streamers with good quality streams, but this level of clarity is something else.
I'd recommend streaming at 8000 bitrate with 1080 60fps resolution :)

Hi friend I am having a problem with OBS. When I record my game, as I play on my game I see no lagging but then I open the obs video I recorded with OBS and the video its lagging.
Try lowering your bitrate, try using a different encoder, just try swapping out things until you find what works best for your system

I installed OWN3D but when I open obs there is no OWN3D
There's been an update so OWN3D PRO has it's own tab next to the tools tab. Make sure you're running the most recent version of OBS Studio and use the most recent version of OWN3D Pro.
