I have a 2017 Colorado with the 3.6l engine, with a scanner I turned off the check engine light but after a month or so it came out again, I take it to the dealership and they told me that it is more likely a voltage peak that caused that, do you recommend to change this sensor or should I try other option?
On mine it would have a different temp for the tranny occasionally it would shift harsh when the sensor would read less than it should. Replace the sensor problem solved. Sometimes I have seen the plug itself go bad having a bad contact. If you have low miles I have been told that it can be covered under warranty check with dealer just in case. If your tranny acts weird take a look at the temperature to see if it seems normal not some crazy number that is way off then most likely its the sensor.
Hello it can be bad wires or censor itself. Will give you erratic shifting so if you have that code P0711 most likely it will be that sensor. If so make sure that you use your vin number to buy it at the dealer. I believe there are 2 variations of the sensor. You can also check the transmission temp reading on your dash board and check temp on the bottom of the trans oil pan to see if they are similar. If of by a great difference then most likely its the temp sensor.
Hello if you havent replaced the fluid in a while I would along with the filter. Only use the Mobil1 HP blue label if you are. These trannies have a shudder issue that sometimes you can get rid of it by replacing the fluid if you have it. I also bypassed the thermostat and the tranny is running much cooler. I do live in south Florida so its hot here so if you live in very cold weather leave it alone.
Hi, Thanks for posting this video. Unfortunately my truck won’t start after changing the sensor. Any suggestions? Disconnecting the battery and honking the horn didn't work. I hooked up my scanner and got 35 different codes. Too many to list. Erasing them didn’t help.
Hello did you get the original wire harness or an aftermarket. Also you have to make sure all the connectors go in the correct location if not you can have issues. taking pictures of the connectors before removing is what I did. Hope it works mine is perfect.
Hi, yes, direct from gm. The part number has been updated. Yes, took pictures before to make sure it was correct. I’m gonna have to drain and drop the pan to make sure all the connections are secure.
@@reggieeldrealtor6827 Might want to clean out the connectors just in case. Putting the old one back might be a good idea to see if the new one was defective. Not sure what you mean? I didn’t drop the valve body. I replaced what you replaced. 2017 Sierra 6.2 Denali. Ordered part from dealer. Part 24046895. I provided my vin and they confirmed the fit.

Hi that sounds about right. If you are doing this might as well do the oil filter too. If you are in hot climate like me here in south florida you might want to take a look at the thermostat that is on the outside of the tranny. It will run much cooler after doing the bypass. You can do it for free or buy the thermostat kit. If you are in cold weather climate leave alone. These transmissions are not perfect I have a vette and does weird stuff sometimes. Use the mobil1 blue label oil not the black one. Also pump out the oil in the cooler too. Take your time and take pics of all the plugs and make sure they are pushed in all the way. Had someone not plug one and had to take the cover down again. Hope it helps
@@ExtremDIY yes I have all of that done. I’ve been running the bypass for the last two years. I’m in Canada so the bypass is good for summers, not for winters. lol. I maintain that tranny as much as I can because I know how finicky they can be.

Hello I would consider getting from the dealer with your vin number. I believe there might be a different plug type for that transmission I have been told. Just to be safe if you dont have many miles reuse the gasket for the pan. Get new filter and use either Mobil 1 HP blue label or the Amsoil. Also if you can call your local dealer I was also told that there is a recall or GM replaces that part even if your car is out of warranty. Not sure how accurate that info is I was told but I had done mine already. Let me know how it goes. Thank you
So went to the dealership and they told me that they had to check the vin# to see if it had a recall on the transmission temperature sensor. Hello they are different codes. Looks like the P0700 is a possible issue with the Transmission Control Module which is a common issue with GM tranny.
