I'm soooooo happy I jumped on and got the radio before they went off the site. I held back forever but did it and don't regret it.
The plug is for the charger. The bottom piece is the latch to open and close it.

However, the next day we sat down with Chris Barnardo of the Wand Company for four hours, as he showed us the prototype, told us how it will work, showed us his 1:43 scale die cast Vertibird, as well as many other Fallout surprises that we were exclusive to be the first to share. He also showed us the new series of Pokeballs and we talked about the working Tricorder. This is only the tip of the iceberg. We also learned things about the series. For example, the holotape will load behind the screen. It will open like an old super 8 recorder. So, stay tuned as we will be releasing that video this week as well as shorts that are limited information. He also told stories about the Amazon event and how he crashed it. Also, we are working with Chris and the Wand Company on this project. So, stay tuned. I guarantee all your questions will be answered.

We can just put the pip boy and an iPhone/tablet and 1tb of memory inside of the pod from the movie The Fly and it will come out better than the video game version!!!

It looks like a raw/ cheaper version or a protoype of the fallout 4 pipboy, they prob gave them to vault 33 as a means to cut costs.

Btw several publications seem to claim that it'll release in November. I wish they would mention that on the listing but it seems like it'll be a while.
So, I spent 4 hours with the designer yesterday talking about this. They only contacted them weeks ago. However, they not only have the pip-boy that I saw a prototype of, but are also releasing a1:43 scale die cast Vertibird. That will come out the beginning of next year.
@@YourGeekFix Do you know anything more about the pipboy's features? It mentions an alarm but other than that there's no mention of sound and I can't see speaker holes anywhere. You would hope it would cuz it at least pretends to have a radio. Also it lists notifications on the screen so I'm wondering if phone connectivity is on the table.
@@ronman3235 The speaker will be hidden on the bottom. The alarm is the sound of sirens and bombs. There are two clock display options.

Functioning screen. The knobs and buttons controll the screen and radio.

It states on Bethesdas website that they anticipate delivery to be November 2024. However, after pre-ordering mine, it states:
“Hi Steven, we're getting your order ready to be shipped. We will notify you when it has been sent.”
Then in a follow up email it states:
“This email is to confirm your order. Your order number is XXXXXXXXXX(redacted). We have started processing your order. Depending on the volume of orders, it can take up to 3 business days to finish processing your order.”
That sounds like they’ll ship it soon, but as I mentioned earlier, it states:
“THIS ITEM IS ESTIMATED TO BE READY TO SHIP DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2024.”
Correct, they won't be shipped til mid November.

This doesn’t work with the game does it/ Companion app? I recently bought the pip boy that comes with fallout 4, but doesn’t fit my phone/ was thinking if the iPhone 13 mini would fit in that
Unfortunately, the companion app will no longer be supported by the Fallout 4 update.
Cant wait to see what you will come up with to modify this one! My guess is that these pipboys don't sell out, so many new fans coming up that needs there pipboy!

is there any way to connect it to your phone or is that no longer a feature? i was gonna pick it up for a cosplay but if i can't i might crap a bluetooth speaker into the 76 special edition ones
This has an fm radio, plays radio from the show. Also, this is half the scale of our previous pipboys..
I’m so excited to get my hands on this, it looks a lot sturdier and more interactive than the gorgeous 2000 VI models. It looks excellent for cosplay/customisation.

Now I saw this when I first got up this morning along with the slew of other merchandise that is being released all at once, which is sure to hurt everyone's wallet or at least those that have money left in their wallets. Sadly, I was like I don't know if I can afford this? The month just began bills were paid so we'll have to save what moneys left for next month now that we're living check to check again. Now, I waited all day and then thought if I hold off it could get sold out, so I bit the bullets and yes I preordered mine as well today.
Now, I notice several things were missing from it to. There's no holo tape, I guess they don't use them on the West Coast. No other indicator lights like you mentioned the one on the top look like it was painted over the radio and the Geiger counter definitely look painted it over. It does looks nice.
Please wise, if mostly metal and with a working interface and knob this is a better value than the 2000. It does have me wondering.
i cannot find any info about the foam size?? i have small arm idk if its too big.. is there any info about that?
The foam is to buffer the slightly larger size than the screen used, which was very small. SO, shouldn't be a problem. I have a fix for you if so.
What fix? I'm really worried about the arm circumference because its a pipboy made to wear

It would be so cool if it could record ur heart beat, ur blood pulse , body temperature, stress levels , keeps track of ur walks , miles , can record stuff etc idk make it useful but would cost a lot tho

It should have a Bluetooth speaker which can be connected to any music device! Also the alarm clock system should allow you to save 30 sound clips to use as your alarm! I’m extremely impressed with this model and will pre order it in the next few days! All the previous models were not very reliable and looked way too cheap.. etc very plasticky lol

That company ThinkGeek made a version like 10 years ago for $400. The first couple models didn’t work and people had to mail there pipboys back.
Pre-order. Bluetooth 3000. This is way better for much less.
Mine came defective from ThinkGeek. I decided to keep it anyways, because all I got from ThinkGeek were generic emails asking for me to send it back. What upsets me is that underneath the foam padding for the forearm/wrist is a cable port to upload the software. They should have patched it, and sent it to all who received faulty units. I would have been happy with that, but they were overwhelmed, and ultimately discontinued the product.

So, IGN and Bethesdas Gear Store both have payment plans. I know there is even a $1 payment plan. You could also just wait and order closer to November after saving.

Real world, but turning the knob makes it play sounds from fallout.

The Pip-Boy shown at 2:08. Is that the one that released with Fallout 4? The shape and inside padding look like it but it looks as if it's had a paint upgrade.
My other question is whether this new Pip-Boy is going to be a limited edition. Is it a good idea to snag one up now before they're gone forever, or wait until any bugs or design faults have been worked out?
I did upgrade paint, added a button, and lights. See the video we have on that.

Is this worth the price, ive wanted a pip boy for my desk but hesitate everytime one is released. Just want to know is it worth the price from other people?
Yes! For 200 it has a working interface, with menus, working FM radio, moving Geiger counter needle, flashlight, clock, light up radio and geiger counter, and it has a die cast front.
Just now figuring out about this and am a huge fallout fan. They’re somehow still taking preorders so I got one. Gonna pay someone to get me another to collect bc this is one I’m using. Been waiting on a real deal pip boy for forever and everytime I think they’re gonna make a real good quality metal one they make a plastic one so this is a no brainer to me. Literally a dream come true.

That is not true. We have the screen used prop. They are of the same type of device as being developed. It is true they were broke a lot.

Hey “Your Geek Fix” do you know if it fits all arms?
Most. The foam and slightly larger size should make that easy. I've seen some big arms in my day.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a removable rechargeable battery. Eventually the battery will die off and leak years down the road. One person also suggested that they should put a flashlight in it, like seen in the series. That would definitely be possible and not expensive to do. I ordered one the minute I found out about it. It's gonna be the best Pip Boy to date.
Do you currently have a phone with the ability to pop it out any more? How about your watch? They make those glued shut. This yuou will be able to open and easily replace the battery. However, these batteries are also better than they use to be.
Wouldn’t let me use my Bethesda points to take money off at purchase either. But hopefully November this year they should be shipping out I think it said. Looked to sleek to pass up plus the weight of the die cast would give it more that authentic feel, can’t wait

What do you mean, the screen? Batteries go in the top.

Most. The reason for it having foam and being slightly bigger than the screen used prop.

It's weird to me that this is a later model than the one used in Fallout 4 but it's missing the select button and speaker for the radio and listening to holotapes.
Newer model makes it smaller and sleeker. There is a button on top and bottom. Check out the interview for more details. Next week I will be handling it.

All the more reason to buy it. To know how the FM radio works, look up the Pip-boy 2000 radio by the wand company. For the needle in the Geiger Counter, look at my Pipboy 2000 video #3 I did. For the interface, look at the Fallout series, because it is an exact replica.

I’ll be honest. This isn’t wand company’s fault here, but the TV show pipboy looks like something a TH-cam prop maker would make
It was designed to make the vault world more utopian and 1950s style compared to the real world.
@@YourGeekFix yeah I figured they wanted to show that it’s from a vault that’s still active and new, and so it isn’t weathered like the pipboys you usually see in the franchise where they’re either scavenged or using old stock.
Although it would’ve been nice if they at least gave it a paint job other than silver. This kinda feels like they took some unpainted Mark IV’s off the assembly line. But I guess they chose this color so it can pop on the screen.
I would’ve went for a darker gray otherwise, or maybe brass color
