- I used the models from World of Warcraft: Legion to accurately try to recreate World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade login screen in Unity 5, but with the updated Dark Portal from WoD.
All the models and music belong to Blizzard Entertainment.

This is pretty damn cool-- I used to especially love the nice looking area in the middle of the portal, so its nice to see it get some extra attention in this higher detail version.

What's unity 5? What did you actually do, I suppose is what I'm asking. It looks a bit better, but not enough to notice honestly. And the music is just the same from the game right?
Unity is a free* game engine, which is the game developers spend years to develop so a game can be created with the input from artists, scripters, sound designers & more. What I did here was export the original models from the game files and try to recreate the original TBC Login screen, by positioning all the objects in their respective positions and applying the correct materials/textures, creating similar particle effects and behavior to the scene, but also take advantage of some modern rendering techniques for bloom, ASEC Tonemapping, Volumetric Lighting & more, and Physics Based Shading (PBS). The target of the video was to get closer to the original one than making it better without altering it too much from it's original form, or mainly to simulate the Warcraft look in a different engine.

I wonder if these are actually complete 3D models or if they are just as lazy built as Blizzard always did it, e.g. no backside.
The entire thing is sort of a clusterfuck right now, I'll need to export the scene, reimport in a new project and archive that for you, main reason I wouldn't do it so because I'm ashamed of its lack of folder structure really :D, I can immediately give you a VR build + I can test if it runs well on all VR devices since it isn't originally optimized for it. But like banescar mentioned, some of the geometry is done the lazy way so I could've gotten it to look right on the camera, so the flags near the camera are in mid air and the terrain/planets/portal background are 2d quads with a texture essentially, and some of the particles are on the right position only on this angle, if you give me a weekend to sort these issues out I could give you a link

I saw that changing the Login Screen is possible, but is it possible to put this in? I would love this Login Screen
It would be possible if it was done in WoW's engine but because it isn't, i'm not sure you can run video files on the login screen.
Could you upload an image in high resolution? I want to put it as wallpaper :)
